BURKE, Mary Jane - Passed peacefully away at the Interfaith Citizen's Home, Carbonear on Wednesday, March 3, 2010, Mary Jane Burke of Victoria, age 94 years. Predeceased by 1st husband: Nelson Kennell; 2nd husband: Joseph Burke; son: Wallace Kennell; brothers and sisters. Leaving to mourn: two daughters: Beulah Kearney, St. John's and Eileen (Joseph) Head, Victoria; five grandchildren: Scott (Michelle), Heather (David), Lori (Mike), Keith and Craig; seven great-grandchildren: Luke, Joshua, Jordan, Madison, Hayley, Benjamin and Katherine; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Rev. Jesse Bown conducted the funeral service on Saturday, March 6 at the United Church, Victoria. Inturnment took place in the United Cemetery, Victoria. Donations in her memory can be made to the United Cemetery, Victoria. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Noel's Funeral Home, Carbonear. KING, Evelyn (Mrs. King) - Passed peacefully away in the arms of her loving family at the Harbour Lodge Nursing Home, Carbonear on Friday, March 5, 2010, Evelyn King (Mrs. King) of Carbonear, age 88 years. Predeceased by husband: George; daughter: Eva; great- grandchildren: Robert and Randy; brothers: Benjamin and Fred; sisters: Jessie and Lizzie; son-in-law: David. Left to mourn, four daughters: Melvina (George) McCarthy, Riverhead, Harbour Grace, Rosalind (Aubrey) Thorne, Margie Hann and Wanda (Norman) Butt, all of Carbonear; one son: George (Alice), Whitehorse, Yukon; special nephew: Basil (Joan) Cole, Toronto, ON; nineteen grandchildren: Irene, Georgie, Gena, Neil, Christopher, Kelly, Georgie, Jason, Jeffery, Colleen, David, Joshua, Justin, Renee, Charlene, Graham, Basil, Ruby and Charlotte; twenty great-grandchildren: Heather, Robyn, Madalyn, Sophie Jo, Randy, Tyler, Reanna, Jamie, Jordan, Maggie, Michael, Kelsey, Herman, Charnele, Amber, Anthony, Brooke, Cassie, Shannon and Shauna;; brother: Alias Baker, Trail, BC; sister: Violet (Pleaman) Clarke, Victoria; son-in-law: Charles Hiscock, Brigus; special friend: Mrs. Joyce Simms, Harbour Lodge Nursing Home, Carbonear; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Rev. Harry Whitehorne conducted the funeral service on Monday, March at Bethany United Church, Carbonear. Interment took place in Bethany United Cemetery, Carbonear. Donations in Mrs. King's memory may be made to the Bethany United Church Sunday School, 2 Church Street, Carbonear, NL, A1Y IA9.
