ANDREWS, Mr. Roy G. - On July 24, 2009 our father passed away peacefully at his home in Coley's Point surrounded by his children. We wish to express our sincere thank you to Dr. R. Humber, Dr. G. Duffy and Dr. B. Barrett. Most sincere thanks to his two caregivers Susan Rickets and Sue Rose. A very special thank you to the paramedics and staff of Moore's Ambulance Services as well as Rev'd Canon Harold Brown and Rev'd Mark James. Thank you to everyone who visited and helped in any way. Your kindness and generosity does not go unnoticed in our hearts. 'l'he children of the late Roy G.Andrews. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Moore's Funeral Home, Bay Roberts.

BAKER, Benjamin J. Sr. - Passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving family at the Carbonear General Hospital on Friday, July 24, 2009, Benjamin J. Baker Sr. of Carbonear, age 76 years. Predeceased by 1st wife: Mae; sons: Albert and Gordon; granddaughter: Kimberley-Anne; grandson: Albert Scott; parents: Lucy and Benjamin Sr.; brother: Fred; sisters: Elizabeth, Jessie and Eva. Left to mourn, wife: Mary; four daughters: Sharon Peddle and Brenda (Joe) Foley, both of Carbon ear, Beverley (Roy) Cole, Victoria and Bonnie (Cyril Whyte), Carbonear; one son: Benjamin (Ruth), Carbonear; four step-daughters: Debbie (Peter) Snow and Brenda (Scott) Young, both of Carbonear, Paula (Wayne) King, Blackhead and Trudy (Craig) Oates, Happy Valley-Goose Bay; two step-sons: Brian (Kelly) O'Leary, Happy Valley-Goose Bay and Gregory O'Leary, Mount Pearl; twenty grandchildren: Sandra, Tina, Jamie, Joey, Darlene, Bradley, Sherry, Tracy, Roy, Tammy, Shelly, Jenny, Rebecca, Jessica, Julia, Sara, Angeline, Rachel, Jacob and Marcus; thirteen great-grandchildren: Jeremy, Justin, Benjamin, Kaylen, Luke, Brady, Cole, Anna, Jack, Ava, T.J., Travis and Emma; one brother: Allan (Martha), BC; two sisters: Evelyn King, Carbonear and Violet (Pleaman) Clarke, Victoria; special friends: Al and Frances Cole, Salmon Cove; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Rev. Stephen Matthews conducted the funeral service on Monday, July 27 at Bethany United Church, Carbonear. Interment was in Park Avenue United Cemetery, Carbonear South. COLBOURNE, Mrs. L. Viola - Passed peacefully away at her late residence, Coley's Point on Thursday, July 9, 2009, Mrs. L. Viola Colbourne of Coley's Point, aged 75 years. Predeceased by her husband Ernest Colbourne; parents: Caleb and Sarah Branton (nee Thorne). Leaving to mourn her spouse Charlie Russell; son: Paul Colbourne; daughter: Bradalee Colbourne (David Dowswell); sisters: Florence (Bendan) Lynch and Irene (Bob) Boynton; brothers: Rayfield (Grace) Branton, Doug (Marilyn) Branton, Leslie (Doreen), Branton, Eldridge Branton, Eric (Jocelyn) Branton and Harvey (Pauline) Branton; Russell children: Kevin (Angela) and Jeff (Coralee); Russell grandchildren: Colby, Conor, Troy, Trent and Taylon and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Visitation took place on Thursday, July 9 at 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.: 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday, July 10 at 2:30, p.m. from Grace United Church, Coley's Point. Reverend Lorraine Jarvis conducted the family memorial service on Friday, July 10 from Grace United Church, Coley's Point. Further visitation followed on Saturday, July 11 at 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.: 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 12 noon at Woolfrey's Funeral Home, Lewisporte. Reverend Calvin Ginn conducted the Funeral Service on Sunday, July 12 at 3 p.m. from St. Matthew's United Church, Lewisporte. Interment in the St. Matthew's United Church Cemetery, Lewisporte. Pallbearers were: Jeff Russell, Kevin Russell, Les Branton, Ewin French, David Dowswell and Eric Colbourne. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Moore's Funeral Home, Bay Roberts and Woolfrey's Funeral Home, Lewisporte.

DROVER, Irene - Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on July 12, 2009, Irene Drover of Spaniard's Bay, aged 60 years. Predeceased by father Dennis Dobbin and sister Mary. Left with fond and loving memories are her husband: John of 42 years; mother: Irene; son: Barry (Jo-Anne), Eastern Passage, NS; daughters: Debbie (Reg), Harbour Grace and Sheri (Dennis), Spaniard's Bay; brothers: Dennis and Wade, both of Upper Island Cove; sisters: Florence (Paul), Upper Island Cove, Margaret (Randolph), Bishop's Cove and Shirley (Ernest), Bishop's Cove; 6 grandchildren: Ashley, Tylor, Cody, Kelsey, Travis and Hallie and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Hussey's Funeral Home, Upper Island Cove. The funeral service took place on Friday, July 17 at Holy Redeemer Anglican Church, Spaniard's Bay followed with inurnment at St. Peter's Anglican Cemetery, Upper Island Cove. In her memory flowers are not accepted and donations may be made to The Canadian Diabetes Association.

EARLE, John Sr. - Passed away at the Carbonear General Hospital on July 15, 2009, age 90 years. Predeceased by parents: Albert and Jessie Earle; sister: Annie Mutrey; brothers: Clarence and James; son-in-law: William C. Stone; brothers-in-law: Gerald Thomey and Sam Mutrey; sister-in-law: Hazel Earle. Leaving to mourn wife Florence, 3 sons: Jim, Jack (Ivy) and Don (Betty); 5 daughters: Florence (Gordon Butt), Phyllis (Stephen Cull), Evelyn (Nelson Peddle), Marcella Stone, Pearl (George Tuttle); 14 Grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters: Violet Thomey; Dorothy (Patrick Butler) and Stella (Nelson Taylor); brother: Arthur; sisters-in-law: Veronica and Mary Earle; also many other relatives and friends. Father Tim Parker conducted the Funeral Service on July 18 at the St. James Anglican Church, Carbonear followed with interment at the Interfaith Cemetery Carbonear. ENGRAM, Amelia Anne - Passed peacefully away at Carbonear on Wednesday, July 1, 2009, Amelia Anne Engram, age 2 years. Leaving to mourn, parents: David & Melody Engram; grandparents: William & Audrey Engram, Carbonear and Gerald & Marion Ryan, Fermeuse; her great-grandmother; many aunts, uncles and cousins; her godparents: Patricia James, Sarah Rouse and Scott Craft; her family and friends from Calgary, AB; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Fr. Tim Parker conducted the funeral service on Saturday, July 4 at St. James Anglican Church, Carbonear. Interment followed in the Interfaith Cemetery, Carbonear. GENGE, Porter - June 22, 1947 - July 18, 2009 - Passed peacefully away on Saturday July 18, 2009 at the age of 62 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 42 years Sadie Genge; children Paul (Kimberly) Genge and Sheri (Travis) Genge; grandson Kieran Genge; sisters Pearl Dowden and Constance McLean both of St. John's; brothers Samuel (Aggie) Genge of St. John's and Steven Genge of Anchor Point. Porter was born in Newfoundland and lived most of his life there. His family will remember him mostly for his love of golf and his sense of humor that put every one at ease. Following his wishes, his cremated remains will be scattered back home in Newfoundland. MANNING, Edward J. - Passed peacefully away at his daughter's residence on Friday, July 3, 2009. Edward J. Manning, of Moncton, NB and formerly of Carbonear, NL, aged 81 years. Born in Harbour Grace, NL, he was the son of the late Joseph and Anne (Ryan) Manning. Edward was a retired accountant. He attended St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church in Moncton and St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church in Carbonear. Edward was an avid reader, enjoyed reading and studying history, genealogy, working with his computer, but first and foremost was quality time spent with his family. Edward will be sadly missed by his children: Jo-Ann Manning, Moncton, NB, Brenda Manning, London, ON, Brian Manning (Christine), Carbonear, NL; grandchildren: Erin, Maureen, Marc, Jayne; great-granddaughter: Olivia; brother: Gerard (Daphne), Labrador City; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Ellen (Nell) (Slade) Manning (1977); son: Alexander (1971) and his sister: Mary (1999).A celebration of Life Service for Edward will be held at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Carbonear at a later date. NOEL, Florence E. (nee Butt) - Passed peacefully away at the Lions Manor, Placentia on Saturday, July 11, 2009, Florence E. (Butt) Noel of Freshwater, Carbonear, age 81 years. Predeceased by parents: Charles and Laura Butt; husband: Roy; brother: James; sisters: Mabel and Peggy.
