CLARKE, Sara V.- Passed suddenly away on Sunday, July 22, 2007, Sara V. Clarke of Lower Island Cove, age 18 years. Predeceased by uncle: Richard Hynes. Leaving to mourn: parents: Cecil and Rose Snelgrove, Lower Island Cove; father: Dean Clarke, Tilton; one brother: Dean J.; step-sister: Crystle; step-brothers: Jason and Bradley; grandparents: Sadie and Rod Clarke, Tilton and Jessie and Johney Snelgrove, Lower Island Cove and Veronica Hynes, Harbour Grace; grandfather: Larry Noonan, Bay de Verde; boyfriend: Stephen Oliver, Gull Island; special friends: Vince Doyle and Shirley Oliver, Gull Island; aunts and uncles: Roy and Susan Hayward and Jason and Dianne Hynes, both of St. John's; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at the Salvation Army Citadel, Lower Island Cove after 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 24 and from where the funeral service will take place on Wednesday, July 25 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow in the Salvation Army Cemetery, Lower Island Cove. FORWARD, Elizabeth "Bessie"- Passed peacefully away at the Interfaith Citizen's Home, Carbonear on Tuesday, July 10, 2007, Elizabeth "Bessie" Forward of Carbonear, age 84 years. Predeceased by husband Wilson; infant son; two infant grandchildren; sons-in-law: Berkley and Frank; brother Bill and sister Mildred. Left to mourn: two daughters: Phyllis Pynn and Ada (Fred) Vaters, both of Carbonear; one son Clyde (Betty), Carbonear; 11 grandchildren: David (Wanda), Terry (Lisa), Paul (Nancy), Darlene (Raymond), Berkley (Valerie), Lorraine (David), Blair (Shona), Ashley, Brian (Michelle), Denise (Robert) and Jason (Sherry); 14 great-grandchildren: Corey, Nicole, Kayla, Matthew, Kourtney, Berkley, Andrew, David, Jane, Zachary, Diego, Andrew, Matthew and Lukas; two step-great-grandchildren: Warren and Ashleigh; sister-in-law Hazel Snow, Carbonear; also a large number of other relatives and friends. JANES, Eric Roy - Was born on August 7, 1915, at Hant's Harbour, NL. After working at Purity Factories Ltd. in St. John's, he enrolled at Ontario Pentecostal Bible School, Toronto, ON, graduating in 1947. He pastored in Cardinal, ON, before returning to Newfoundland and pastoring with The Pentecostal Assemblies of Newfoundland and Labrador. Possessed of a quiet disposition, Eric won the respect of those with whom he came in contact.
On January 15, 1951, Eric married Eva H. Burton (1914-80), from Beaumont, NL; she was also a pastor with the PAONL. They pastored at North West Brook, Gander, Clarke's Beach, Carmanville, Twillingate, Hampden, Port aux Basques and Shearstown. In 1976, Eric and Eva retired and settled in Bay Roberts. Eric built a made-to-scale model of the Old Testament Tabernacle in the Wilderness, which he used in conducting many Bible studies in his home province, in Alberta and at Camp Emmanuel 1967, the summer camp-meeting of the PAONL.
Eric was a voracious reader and an avid writer. His work was published in Good Tidings, The Compass, The Telegram, The Pentecostal Testimony, Pentecostal Evangel, Decision and Lethbridge Herald, as well as elsewhere. He also wrote and published the booklet, A Thrilling Experience in the Schooner Clare from Hant's Harbour to Labrador. A highlight of Eric's career came in 1984, when he visited the Holy Land and arranged a side trip to Greece.
At the time of his passing, Eric was a resident at the Pentecostal Senior Citizens Home, Clarke's Beach, NL. Eric is predeceased by his wife, Eva, and granddaughter; Amanda. Eric is survived by his children: Hope (Don Fraize), Karen, David (Marlene) and Burton (Sherry ); grandchildren: Eric, Krista and Christopher, and foster grandchild, Lisetta. Rested at Bethel Pentecostal Church, Bay Roberts from where the funeral took place Thursday, July 5, 2007. Interment followed at the Pentecostal Cemetery, Bay Roberts. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Moore's Funeral Home, Bay Roberts. Donations are being accepted for the Living Memorial Fund (a project of the Pentecostal Assemblies of NL).

KING, Ralph- Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John's on Tuesday, July 24, 2007, Ralph King of Victoria, age 64 years. Predeceased by parents: George and Margaret; brothers: George and Melvin; brothers-in-law: Albert King, Harold King and Herb King. Leaving to mourn, wife: Patsy; one daughter: Bonnie (Everett) Lundrigan, Upper Island Cove; one son: Jamie (Christa), Victoria; one grandson: Morgan; two brothers: Freeman (Ursula) and Victor (Ruby), both of Carbonear; five sisters: Matilda (Albert) Crann, Fair Haven, Marjorie Agnew, London, ON, Gladys (Guy) Thoms, Carbonear, Gloria Badcock, Victoria and Cynthia King, Victoria; sisters-in-law: Barbara King, Carbonear, Betty (Don) Vaters and Rosalind King, both of Salmon Cove and Lily King, Victoria; brothers-in-law: Norm (Joyce) King, George (Angela) King, David (Joslyn) King and Ronald (Joy) King, all of Victoria; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at NOEL'S FUNERAL HOME, Water Street, Carbonear until 12:00 noon Friday, July 27. Funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. from the United Church and Cemetery, Victoria. LESHANE, Joseph - Passed peacefully away at the Dr. A.A. Wilkinson Memorial Hospital, Old Perlican on Saturday, July 7, 2007, Joseph LeShane of Lower Island Cove, age 82 years. Predeceased by wife: Florence and brother Harvey. Left to mourn, one daughter Donna (Bren) Kehoe, Lower Island Cove; two sons: George (Barbara), Old Perlican and Brian (Heidi), Degras; eight grandchildren: Mitchell, Ashton, Keshia, Kelly (Michael), Robynn, Robert (Tracey), Cameron and Tara; sister-in-law Blanche LeShane, Lower Island Cove; special friend Elsie; also a large number of other relatives and friends. MOORES, Leslie - Born April 9, 1936 - Passed away July 16, 2007 after a lengthy illness. The funeral took place July 18 in St. John's. Predeceased by his parents William J. (Bill Joe) and Arabella (Addie) - nee Clarke. Leaving to mourn his wife, four daughters, one son, five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, four brothers, six sisters and their significant others also a large number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Leslie, nobody knows how much we will miss you, our visits together and our many phone conversations. We watched you fading away and even though we hated to see you go, we thank God he spared you from further suffering. The first spoke in our family wheel is now missing, but we hope to all meet again someday. We will love you always. You have entered the haven of rest, encircled within the arms of God. A fond farewell to you brother - from your brother Reginald Moores and sister Karen Moores.

PARSONS, Ethel L.- Passed peacefully away on Sunday, July 22, 2007, Ethel L. Parsons of Harbour Grace, age 95 years. Predeceased by husband: William E. and sisters: Flora Yetman and Millicent Parsons. Leaving to mourn: one son: William Lamont (Sylvia) Parsons, Barrie, ON; two daughters: Joan Parsons, St. John's and Elaine (Derek) Edwards, Harbour Grace; five grandchildren: Jeffrey, Suzanne, Shawn, Pam and Amy; six great-grandchildren: Sarah, Tyler, Hannah, Savannah, Noah and Dylan; two sisters-in-law: Jean Parsons, Harbour Grace and Babs Parsons, St. John's; special friend: Georgie Edwards, Harbour Grace; also a large number of other relatives and friends.
