CHUBBS, Marion - Passed peacefully away at Carbonear General Hospital on Wednesday, July 5, 2006, Marion Chubbs of Carbonear; five days before her 100th birthday. Predeceased by husband: Bertram; son: James; parents: William and Frances; sister: Ada Otis; brothers: Fred Hiscock and John Hiscock; son- in-law: Robert Morrison; daughter-in-law: Philomena Chubbs. Left to mourn: two daughters: Ruby Morrison, Virginia, USA and Yvonne (Albert) Parsons, Kitchener, ON; four sons: Elwood, Goose Bay, William (Gertie), Carbonear, Alvin, Foxtrap and Eric (Albertha), Carbonear; daughter-in-law: Olive Chubbs, Kelligrews; eighteen grandchildren; twenty one great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one sister: Winnifred Dawe, Toronto, ON; also a large number of other relatives and friends. CROCKER, Donald A. - Passed peacefully away, after a lengthy battle with cancer, at the Carbonear General Hospital on Thursday, July 13, 2006, Donald A Crocker of Harbour Grace, age 66 years. Predeceased by parents: Archibald and Lillian Crocker; father-in-law Ross Sheppard. Left to mourn wife Deanne; one daughter Gina (Danny) White, Harbour Grace; one son Chad (Gail), Upper Island Cove; four grandchildren: Angela, Brandon, Emma and Hannah; mother-in-law Gladys Sheppard, Harbour Grace; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Judy (Dr. Gilbert) Zimmerman, Montreal, Eric (Mary) Sheppard, Halifax, Harold (Judy) Sheppard, Mount Pearl, Lilian (Tony) Cashin, Calgary; Ross Sheppard, Iqualuit and Keith (Kim) Sheppard, CBS; special cousins: Gordon Snow (Judy Beveridge), Ottawa and Alex (Joan) Crocker, Harbour Grace; special family friends: Whitman and Elizabeth Goodwin, St. John's; also a large number of cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Predeceased by husband: Cecil; daughter: Shirley M.; parents: Ignatious and Mary Lannon; daughter-in-Iaw: Melissa; brothers: William and Leonard; sisters: Matilda and Angela; brothers-in-law: Roy Fraize and Frank O'Reilly; sisters-in-law: Dorcas Fraize, Fronie Fraize, Mary Lannon, Bride Lannon and Nellie Lannon. HORWOOD, Emma Berdina (Bertha) - Of Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia passed away July 23, 2006 in Dykeland Lodge, Senior's Complex, Windsor, NS. Born in Bishop's Cove, NL, she was the daughter of the late Hector and Stella (Smith) Barrett. She was predeceased by her husband John; brother John; two sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law. Left to mourn are sons: William (Margaret), Newfoundland, Albert (Iris), Nova Scotia and Ernest (Barbara Ann), British Columbia; sister Mary; brothers: Eric, Ernest (Barbara Ann), Beatty (Verna); seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. A memorial service and internment was held July 31 at St. Paul's Church and Cemetery; Harbour Grace, NL. Many thanks to all those who helped with the arrangements, provided food, gave cards and condolences, especially the ACW.

HUDSON, Margaret M. - Passed peacefully away at Escasoni Nursing Home, St. John's on Saturday, July 15, 2006, Margaret M. Hudson of St. John's; formerly of Adam's Cove, age 90 years. Predeceased by husband Ernest. Left to mourn daughter Betty (Fred) Pike, St. John's; granddaughter Debbie (Oaul) Murrin, BC; great-grandson Liam; also a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Rev. MERCER, Rexton (Rex) - Passed peacefully away at his late residence Cupids on Monday, July 10, 2006, Rexton Mercer (Rex) in his 57th year, employee of Dawe's Concrete Products for 38 years. Predeceased by his parents Reuben and Fannie Mercer, mother-in-law, Bridget Myles. Leaving to mourn his loving and devoted wife: Kay; son: Cory and daughter-in-law: Goldie; step-daughter: Tara Hurley; three sisters: Ruby (George Yetman), Bay Roberts, Elizabeth (Wendell Dawe), Cupids, Shirley (Harold Clarke), Cupids; one brother: Gordon (Margaret Mercer), Bay Roberts; sister-in-law: Mary (Paul Marshall); special aunt: Mary Long; many special friends including his co-workers at Dawe's Concrete Products; also a large number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Rested at Broughton's Funeral Home, Brigus. Funeral took place on Friday, July 14, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. from The Salvation Army Citadel, Bay Roberts. Left to mourn: three daughters: Violet Badcock, Bay Roberts; Joyce (Jack) Rodgers, Hant's Harbour and Anita (Morley) Grandy, Bay Roberts; six sons: Eric, Carbonear; Lloyd (Maxine), Bay Roberts; Clarence (Wendy), Cambridge, ON; Marston (Karen), Carbonear; David (Sheila), Spaniard's Bay and Bob (Lucille), Cambridge, ON; twenty-five grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; two special foster-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law: Beatrice Butt, Blackhead and Myrtle Slade, Salmon Cove; also a large number of other relatives and friends.
