GlLLINGHAM, Maxwell - Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Monday, July 25, 2005, Maxwell Gillingham of Lower Island Cove, age 85 years. Predeceased by parents: Eli and Violet; three sisters: Effie Moores, Florence Fagrier and Mary Garland. Left to mourn, two brothers: Thomas (Gertie) and Samuel (Annie), both of Lower Island Cove; one sister Susie (Harold) Baggett, Toronto, ON: brothers-in-law: George Moores, Carbonear and Clarence Garland, Lower Island Cove; a large number of nephews, nieces as well as other relatives and friends. Captains Wayne and Geraldine Durdle conducted the funeral service on Wednesday, July 27 at the Salvation Army Citadel and Cemetery, Lower Island Cove. Donations in his memory may be made to the Salvation Army Citadel, Lower Island Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Noel's Funeral Home, Western Bay. HUTCHlNGS, Florence S. - Passed peacefully away at Carbonear General Hospital, Carbonear, Tuesday, July 12, Florence Selena Hutchings of Spaniard's Bay, aged 80 years. Predeceased by parents: Timothy and Elizabeth (Betsy) Collins; husband Josiah; brothers: Ernest and Jack Collins; sisters: Loretta Gosse and Marjorie Collins. Left with fond and loving memories, her daughter Elizabeth (Edward) Crane, Spaniard's Bay; son Timothy (Beverly) Hutchings, Spaniard's Bay; sister Irene Yetman, Harbour Grace; also left with fond and loving memories are her two grandchildren Jason Crane (fiancée Kelly Neil) living in Calgary; Alberta and Natalie Hutchings of Spaniard's Bay; Rested at Young's Funeral Home, Spaniard's Bay; Funeral was held Friday; July 15 from Holy Redeemer Anglican Church, Spaniard's Bay. KING, Willie Clifford - Of Everett, MA. U.S.A., formerly of Broad Cove, Conception Bay, NL. Passed away Friday, July 15, 2005 at the age of 90 years, 6 months. Leaving his wife Maria (Whalen) King; daughter Iris E. Ulm and son Carlson W. King. Also three grandchildren and three great grand-children. He leaves many nephews and nieces in the U. S. and NL. He was predeceased by brothers: Wilson, George, Malcolm, Jabez and Raymond King and sisters: Beatrice Barbour and Ada Legrow Thimot. During his younger years Cliff worked at Millertown, Buchans, Grand Falls and St. John's. Before leaving for the U.S. in 1956, he worked for the United Towns Electric Company. He worked as a carpenter and was a member of Carpenters Union Local 218, Boston. Cliff was a long time member of Mt. Bellingham United Methodist Church in Chelsea, MA. which was the Church Home of many Newfoundlanders. He was a member of Palstine Masonic Lodge AF and AM, The Royal Arch Chapter of the Tabernacle and a past Master of the Loyal Orange Lodge of MA. Cliff enjoyed returning to Broad Cove each Summer to visit friends and relatives. Due to declining health he was unable to return this summer for his annual visit. Services were held July 17 at Chelsea, MA. His ashes will be interred at Broad Cove sometime in September.

RIDEOUT, Roland J. - Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Tuesday, July 26, 2005, Roland J. Rideout of Carbonear, age 76 years. Predeceased by wife Lavinia; parents: George and Hannah Rideout, brother Augustus Rideout; sisters: Grace Forward and Neta Caravan; brothers-in-law: Cecil Forward, Stuart Caravan, Thomas Milley, Chesley Kennell and Warren King; sister-in-law Mary King. Left to mourn, one daughter Wanda (Paul) Mercer, Coley's Point; grandson Bradley; two sisters: Meta (Herbert) Slade, Salmon Cove and Constance Milley, Western Bay; brothers-in-law: Sam (Lorna) King, Victoria, Jim (Karen) King, St. John's, Fred (Diane) King, Ontario and Gerald King, British Columbia; sisters-in-law: Jane Kennell, Western Bay and Winnie (Gerald) Butt, Broad Cove; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Rev. Stephen Matthews conducted the funeral service on Thursday, July 28 at Bethany United Church, Carbonear. Interment took place in the Interfaith Cemetery, Carbonear. Donations in his memory may be made to the TCP Health Foundation or to the Janeway Children's Hospital. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Noel's Funeral Home, Carbonear. ROBERTS, Joseph H. - Passed suddenly away at Toronto, Ontario, Monday, July 4, Joseph Roberts of Spaniard's Bay, aged 49 years. Predeceased by his father Joseph Roberts Sr. and brother Clyde Roberts. Left with fond and loving memories his daughter Katie of Ontario and mother Ruby (Pilgram) Roberts of Spaniard's Bay; sister Shirley of Ontario; brothers: Gary of Spaniard's Bay and Rick (Providence) of Spaniard's Bay; also left with fond and loving memories are a number of nieces and nephews. Rested at Young's Funeral Home, Spaniard's Bay. Funeral was held Monday, July 11 from Holy Redeemer Anglican Church and Cemetery, Spaniard's Bay. UDELL, Mary E. - Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Friday, July 15, 2005, Mary E. Udell of Carbonear, age 87 years. Prominent business lady of Carbonear and member of the Newfoundland Business Hall of Fame. Predeceased by parents: John and Mabel; brothers: Graham, William, John and Alec; sister Emma. Left to mourn brother Harold (Bernice), St. John's; sister Margaret Adams, St. John's and loving and devoted sister Dorothy "Dolly" Udell', Carbonear; sisters-in-law: Helen Udell, Carbonear and Rita Udell, St. John's; nieces: Marilyn, Jane (Phil), Elinor, Margaret (David), Janice, Joyce and Nancy; nephew John; also a number of other relatives and friends. Rev. Stephen Matthews conducted the funeral service on Monday, July 18 at Bethany United Church and Cemetery, Carbonear.
