ANDREWS, Shirley (Delo)
Passed on: January 18th, 2013

Passed peacefully away at Carbonear General Hospital on Friday, January 18th, 2013, aged 89 years. Formally of Bay Roberts, she was a resident at Callingwood Downs, Clarke's Beach. Predeceased by her husband: Rev'd C. Maxwell Andrews formerly of Port de Grave, NL. Her parents: Edwin and Agnes (Doody) Delo, brothers: Kingsley, Stewart, and Ross Delo; sisters: Joy Howarth, June (Gibby) Gibson, Lois (Sandy) Barclay; Brothers-in-law; Michael Howath, William E. Boone, and Frank V. Andrews; sisters-in-law: Coroline Delo and Rachel O. Boone. She leaves to mourn with fond memories her loving daughter: Cynthia (Edward) Traverse and treasured grandson Peter Traverse. Brother: Bob (Carol) Delo; sisters-in-law: Roberta Delo, Betty Delo, Barbara Delo, and Yvette Howarth; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. As per Mrs. Andrews request cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mrs. Shirley Andrews may be made to the Janeway Children's Hospital Foundation, a charity very dear to her heart. Rev'd Paul Rideout, Rev'd Amanda Taylor and Assisting Deacon John Sparkes conducted the funeral service at St. Mark's Anglican Church, Bareneed on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 inurnment to be held at a later date from Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Toronto, Ontario. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Moore's Funeral Home, Bay Roberts.

BUTLER, Bridget 'Bride'
Passed on: January 27th, 2013

Passed peacefully away at her residence on Sunday, January 27, 2013, Bridget 'Bride' Butler of Harbour Grace, age 81 years. Predeceased by husband: Gerald P.; parents: Eugene and Mary O'Grady; brother: Joseph. Left to mourn, three daughters: Geraldine (Claude) Parsons, Victoria, Rosemary Butler (Brian Callander) and Colleen (Keith) Young, both of Alberta; two sons: Gerard and Sean, both of Harbour Grace; five grandchildren: Blair (Cathy), Blake (Brandy), Holly (Wilson), Emily and Amy; five great-grandchildren: Jasmine, Kelsey, Parker, Summer and Jaxson; one sister: Helen (Les) Burden, Carbonear; The family received relatives and friends at Noel's Funeral Home, Harbour Grace. Fr. William Pearce conducted the Funeral Mass on Thursday, January 31 at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Riverhead, Harbour Grace. Inurnment to take place at a later date. Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one's choice. HORWOOD, William
Born: October 11th, 1942
Passed on: January 7th, 2013

It is with great sadness that the family of the late William Horwood (of L'Anse au Clair born October 11, 1942) announce his passing on Monday, January 7, 2013 at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John's, age 70 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife Margaret; daughter Mona (Roderick) of Happy Valley; sons Sheldon (Catriona) of Happy Valley; and John (Tayna) of Grand Falls; grandchildren Sondra (Carlos), Scott, Matthew, Michael, Mackenzie, Jack, Robyn, and Maggie; great-grandson Cohen; brothers Albert (Iris) of Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia, and Ernie (Barbara) of Campbell River, British Columbia; nieces, nephews, and a large circle of family and friends. His memorial service took place at St. Andrew's Church in L'Anse au Clair on Saturday, January 12. The interment of ashes will take place in L'Anse au Clair, summer 2013.

MOORE, Margaret 'Pamela' (Howell) R.N.
Passed on: January 31st, 2013

Passed peacefully away, after a prolonged illness, at Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga, ON on Thursday January 31, 2013 in her 64th year. Formerly of Carbonear, NL and Burlington, ON. Beloved wife of Peter for 41 years, loving mother of Keith (Laura), cherished grandma of Jonathan, Rachel and Bethany. Dear sister of Trudi (Gerry Dominie), Debbie (Jackson Butt), Carolyn (Don Jacobs), Dunc (Eva), Jack (Daphne) and Bill (Fay). Lovingly remembered by brother-in-law Dave (Betty), the late Ralph (late Colette), sister-in-law Eleanor (Art) Webber and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Pam's life will be held Saturday May 4th, at 2 pm at Bethany United Church in Carbonear. Memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Heart & Stroke Foundation.

MORRIS, Ethel Jane

Passed peacefully away at the Harbour Lodge Nursing Home, Carbonear on Wednesday, January 16, 2013, Ethel Jane Morris of Lower Island Cove, age 90 years. Predeceased by husband: Jack; parents: Timothy and Dora Ann; brothers: Eleazor, Arthur, Selby and Jabez; sisters: Mary Morris, Leah Wheeler and Elsie Snelgrove. Left to mourn, three sisters: Stella Gillingham, Lower Island Cove, Evelyn Reynolds, Blackhead and Jean Lewis, Lower Island Cove; also a large number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Rested at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear. Rev. John Davis conducted the funeral service on Saturday, January 19 at Noel's Memorial Chapel, Carbonear. Interment took place in the United Cemetery, Lower Island Cove. Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one's choice. Predeceased by husband: John; son: Samuel; grandson: Christopher; parents: James and Wesley King; brothers: Herbert, Wallace and George; sisters: Minnie and Beulah. Left to mourn, three daughters: Shirley (Graham) Vaters, Toronto, ON, Sandra Turnbull and Edna (Elliott) Antle, both of Carbonear; nine grandchildren: Stanley, Darryl, Don, Dwayne, Dennis, David, Sam, Lisa and Jackie; twenty-one great-grandchildren; two brothers: Albert (Dora) King and George King, both of Victoria; one sister: Hilda (Tom) Penney, Victoria; also a large number of other relatives and friends. PENNEY, Stephen "Clyde"

Peacefully passed away with family at his side at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, Barrie, Ontario on Tuesday, January 1, 2013. Clyde Penney of Stroud, Ontario and formerly of Weston, Ontario at 85 years of age. Beloved husband of Edith (nee Gillard) for 62 years. Loving dad of Sharon (Cosimo) Fuda, Deborah Burroughs (Rick), Stephen (Darlene), Dale Durocher (Glenn), Paula Penney (Louis Carrasco-Cortes) and Michelle (Ralf) Zimmer. Proud "Pops" of 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Dear brother of Flora, Les, Dolph, Christine and predeceased by Bill, Rob, Malc, Mona and Norma. Clyde will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews. Clyde will also be sadly missed by his dog Skippy. Friends called at Skwarchuk Funeral Home, Bradford, Ontario (1-800-209-4803) for a visitation. Funeral service was held in the Chapel on Friday, January 4, 2013 at 2 p.m. followed by cremation. Passed suddenly and unexpectedly in Thornhill, Ontario, Edward James ('Ted' and 'Odie'), aged 52 years; formerly of Carbonear. Predeceased by parents: John G.W. and Mabel I. Rorke. Left to mourn, brothers: John (Jackie) Rorke, St. John's, Gene Rorke, Centre Rawdon, NS and Neil Rorke, Carbonear, as well as extended family and a wide circle of friends in Carbonear and Ontario. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Ted's life will take place in Carbonear this summer. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear.

Leaving to mourn his wife of 54 years Hilda; five children: Darlene Thorne (Lennox), Victoria NL, Lee Squires (Glen), Old Perlican, Wendy Doyle (Dave), Grates Cove, Frank (Janet), Nanaimo BC, Norm (Bev), Mount Pearl; eleven grandchildren: Lisa Mercer (Jason), Edmonton, Grant (Ella) Thorne, Gibbons AB, Curtis (Jill) Doyle, Gander, Matthew (Megan Power), Paradise, Vickie Hogan, Mount Pearl, Traci Foote (Tyson), Mount Pearl, Sky Snelgrove, Nanaimo BC, Scott Snelgrove, Nanaimo BC, Kate, Dylan and Zack Snelgrove, Mount Pearl; six great-grandchildren: Ethan Mercer, Edmonton, Erica Throrne, Gibbons AB, Brady and Gracie Hogan, Mount Pearl, Anah and Hayden Foote, Mount Pearl; four brothers: Ebbie (Cynthia), Scarborough ON, Norm (Jeanette), Chamberlains, Randy (Carol), Mount Pearl, Vernon (Bridie), Northern Bay; four sisters: Edna Porter (Doug), Mount Pearl, Stella Noel, St. John's, Barbara Coish (John), Bay de Verde; two aunts: Lillian Clarke, Victoria and Rhetta Vay, Kelligrews; as well as other family and friends. Left to mourn, wife: Tina; three sons: Tyler and Ryan, Lower Island Cove and Sebastian Leonard, St. John's; parents: Russell and Ethel, Lower Island Cove; two brothers: Russell (Mary), St. John's and Allan (Wendy), Nova Scotia; sister: Suzanne (Sam) Whittaker, Mississippi, USA; parents-in-law: Stephen and Joyce Bursey, Lower Island Cove; brother-in-law: Scott (Tammy) Bursey, Lower Island Cove; nephews: Kyle and Mitchell Bursey, Joshua, Jeremy and Jeffery Snelgrove; nieces: Samantha, Rebecca, Brittany and Lily Snelgrove; also a large number of other relatives and friends.
