BUTT, Pauline M. (nee Oliver) - Passed peacefully away at the Interfaith Citizen's Home, Carbonear on Monday, January 3, 2011, Pauline M. Butt (nee Oliver) of Gull Island, age 55 years. Predeceased by father: Raymond Oliver; brother: Fabian Oliver. Left to mourn, daughter: Megan Butt (Peter Stewart), Northern Bay; mother: Anne Oliver, Gull Island; two granddaughters: Emma and Peyton; two sisters: Bonnie (Jerome) Delaney, Lower Island Cove and Anna (Chris) Parsons, Ochre Pit Cove; three nieces: Jenna and Haylee Parsons and Celine Delaney; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Rested at Noel's Funeral Home, Main Highway, Western Bay. Fr. Pio Sumbilon conducted the funeral Mass on Thursday, January 6 at Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church, Northern Bay. Interment took place in Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Cemetery, Northern Bay. Donations in her memory may be made to the Pauline M. Butt Memorial Fund. JONES, Jeremiah "Jerry"
(September 11, 1957 - January 22, 2011)
Passed away peacefully at Cambridge Memorial Hospital on Jan. 22nd, 2011, in his 54th year. Beloved husband of Rose Fowler, loving father of Jackie Jones (Austin) of Alberta, Heather Jones (Bryan), and Jerica Jones, both of Cambridge. Also survived by his brothers, William (Anita) of Nfld., and Blair (Dianna) of Cambridge, James (Marlene) of Cambridge, Alice Jones, Imelda Jones, and Carmel Verge (George), all of Nfld. Bernedette Gale (Robert) of Cambridge and two lovely granddaughters, Liberty and Madison. Predeceased by his parents, Jermiah and Margaret Jones and two sisters, Veronica and Elaine.

KENNEDY, Flora K. - Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Friday, January 7, 2011, Flora K. Kennedy of Carbonear, age 73 years. Predeceased by parents: Alexander and Christine Hogan; brother: John 'Jack' Hogan; parents-in-law: Dagleton and Elizabeth Kennedy; special friend: James 'Jim' Hunt. Left to mourn, husband: Patrick; six daughters: Sharon (Steve) Leonard, Ontario, Diane Kennedy (Noel) and Carolyn (Gerry) Ryan, both of Carbonear, Joanne (Stephen) Walsh, St. John's, Judy (Gary) Hoyles, Carbonear and Denise (John) Sheppard, Conception Bay South; three sons: Jerome (Rachel), St. John's, Paul (Ann Marie), Harbour Grace and David (Cindy),Carbonear; sixteen grandchildren; one sister: Bridget (Bern) Crawford, Carbonear; sister-in-law: Hannah Thomey, St. John's; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Monsignor E.T. Bromley and Fr. F.J. Aylward conducted the Funeral Mass on Monday, January 10 at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Carbonear. McCARTHY, Edward - Passed peacefully away at his residence on Saturday, January 8, 2011, Edward McCarthy of Glover Road, Riverhead, Harbour Grace, age 79 years. Predeceased by parents Felix and Alice McCarthy; grandson: Barry McCarthy; three brothers: Charles, Joseph and William; two sisters: Margaret and Agnes; brothers-in-law: William Bowman, James O'Neill and Gerald Russell; sister-in-law: Elizabeth McCarthy. Leaving to mourn, wife:Ruth; one daughter: Dianne (Kirk) Peach, Harbour Grace; three sons: James (Sherry), David (Joan) and Brian (Gloria), all of Harbour Grace; four grandchildren: Deanne, Charles (Melanie), Kevin (Lindsay) and Kyle; two great grandchildren: Kyle and Jake; two brothers: Justin, Harbour Grace and James (Josephine), Toronto, ON; one sister: Nellie Russell, Goose Bay; sister-in-law: Laura McCarthy, Glace Bay, NS; also a large number of other relatives and friends. A private family visitation was held at Noel's Funeral Home, Harvey Street, Harbour Grace. At Edward's request cremation has taken place with a church service and burial to be announced at a later date.

OLIVER, Rebecca - Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital, on Saturday, January 1, 2011, Rebecca Oliver of Burnt Point, age 89 years. Predeceased by parents: Eli and Susannah Wicks; brothers: Hayward, Elijah, Joshua, Ishmael, Melvin and John Thomas; sisters: Violet and Mary Ann; son-in-law: John Tucker; grandson: Glenn Kennell. Left to mourn, husband: Charles, Collingwood Downs Seniors Home, Clarke's Beach; three daughters: Rita (Allan) Kennell, Topsail Pond, Bertha Tucker, Paradise and Doreen (Randy) Coley's Point; one son: David (Sadie), Burnt Point; eight grandchildren: Derrick (Michelle), Greg (Nikki), Lori (Brad), Melanie (Sheldon), Ashley (James), Charlene (Jamie), Crystal (Derrick) and Jason (Danielle); five great-grandchildren: Justin, Logan, Destiny, Emma and Dawson; granddaughter-in-law: Marina Kennell; sister: Mildred Tucker, Ruby Manor, Mount Pearl; Rebecca's caregivers and friends at Collingwood Downs where she resided; also a large number of other relatives and friends.
