ABBOTT, Bruce
Passed in: Carbonear, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada
Passed on: February 17th, 2018

Bruce was born in Buchans in 1934 and moved to Grand-Falls in 1944 where he attended GFA and completed grade eleven, winning the Anglo Newfoundland Development Company Scholarship but turned it down to follow his dream to be in the RCAF. Bruce served for 36 years. Bruce met the love of his life, Daphne (Butt) while stationed in CFB Gander and they were married for 62 years. Daphne passed away in August 2017. Bruce retired in 1990 and they moved to Harbour Grace where they made their home and was active in their church. Bruce passed peacefully but suddenly away at Carbonear General Hospital on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at the age of 83 years. Predeceased by wife: Daphne; parents: Newman and Marion. Left to mourn, one brother: Winston (Frances), South Farmington, NS; also a large number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. The family received relatives and friends at Noel's Funeral Home, Harvey Street, Harbour Grace. Rev. Nancy Mojica-Fisher conducted the Funeral Service on Wednesday, February 21 from Coughlan United Church, Harbour Grace. Following the service, Bruce was laid to rest with his wife Daphne in the United Church Cemetery, Freshwater, Carbonear. Donations in his memory may be made to a charity of one's choice. MARSHALL, David

of Freshwater passed away at the Health Science Centre, St. John's on Thursday, February 15, 2018. Mr. Marshall was 61 years old. He leaves to mourn his loving family: Wife: Cindy Marshall. Sons: Shaun (Glenda) Marshall &Travis (Stephanie) Marshall 4 grandchildren: Megan, Abbie, Ryan, Lindsey Leaving Behind: Mother: Margaret (Noel) Marshall Father: Robert Marshall Brother: Wayne (Eileen) Marshall Sisters: Donna (Paul) O'Grady & Carolyn Kavanagh (Bill Richmond) Sister in laws: Anna Slade, Theresa (Bob) Antle, Marie Slade (Marilyn Keats) Brother in laws: Jack Slade, Alex (Marie) Slade, Maurice Slade, David Slade & Harry Kavanagh. Predeceased by: Mother in law: Anastasia Slade Father in Law: Richard Slade Sister in laws: Maxine Slade & Yvonne Marshall Nephews: Justin O'Grady & Robbie Antle. The Funeral Service took place at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 from Slade's Funeral Home Chapel, Carbonear with interment at Bethel Pentecostal Cemetery, Carbonear. The family received relatives and friends at SLADE'S FUNERAL HOME, POWELL DRIVE, CARBONEAR . In lieu of flowers, donations were made to the Open Door, Carbonear. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Slade's Funeral Home, serving Carbonear, Upper Island Cove, Bay Roberts and areas.

PEET, June Frances (nee Lane)
Born: April 28th, 1930
Passed on: February 27th, 2018

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of June Frances Peet (nee Lane). Predeceased by her son Craig in 2013. Predeceased by great-granddaughter Angel Backle. She will be forever remembered by her husband of 60 years Robert (Doug) Peet and her children Geraldine (Tony Gosse), Christopher, Lynn and Tony (Cindy). Her grandchildren Andrew, Caitlin, Daniel, Michael, Jaclyn, Lucas and Sarah Jayne, great-grandson Liam Cole. Special friend Effie Andrews and a large circle of family and friends. The family has followed her wishes. She has been cremated and her ashes will be scattered in her home town of Millertown.
