BEST. Marion, M. (nee MOORES) - Passed away at the Hoyles Escasoni Complex on Wednesday, February 13, 2008, Marion Best of St. John's. Marion was born in Adams Cove, Conception Bay North on February 8, 1932. Left with many fond and loving memories are her husband, Jim; daughters: Donna (Charlie Taylor) and Diane (Noel Duff); granddaughter Joanna; and sister Dora Trickett. She will also be missed by her sisters-in-law: Martha Blackwood, Olive Moores and their families. Rested at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Thursday and Friday. Funeral service took place on Saturday, February 16, 2008 from Wesley United Church. Interment followed at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Flowers were gratefully accepted. BUTT, Susie - Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Friday, February 8, 2008, Susie Butt of Freshwater, Carbonear, age 84 years. Predeceased by husband: George; daughter: Maxine; infant son: Raymond; half brother: Lorenzo and parents: Abraham and Annie Parsons. Left to mourn, two daughters: Ann (Calvin) Ash, Carbonear and Judy (Ronald) Dawe, Coley's Point; four sons: George (Natalie), Carbonear, David (Doreen), Labrador City, Harold (Karen), Carbonear and Kenneth (Sandra), Labrador City; son-in-law: Maurice Slade, Carbonear; nineteen grandchildren: Calvin (Christine), Darryl (Amie Sue), Shawn, Lori, Patricia (Blair), Judy; Curtis, Michael (Shanna), Lesley; Faith, Lindsay, Jason, Nikita, Kelsey, Meagan, George, Kenzie, Kenny and Shalene; six great-grandchildren: Gavin, Mollie, Christopher, Maxine, Susie and Lily; sister: Mary Vokey, Peterborough, ON; brother: Edward 'Ned' (Irene) Parsons, Stephenville; also a large number of other relatives and friends. CASE, Lloyd - Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Thursday, February 28, 2008, Lloyd Case of Salmon Cove, age 91 years; a long time educator and honorary member of the NLTA. Predeceased by wife: Margaret, 2003; infant son: William; son-in-law: Hayward Chislett; grandson: Neil King and step-sister: Emily Snow. Left to mourn, five daughters: Gladys Chislett, Cavendish, Meta Howard, Texas, USA, Minnie and very special son-in-law Neil Mercer, with whom he resided in Bay Roberts, Margaret (Eldon) King, Woody Point, Bonne Bay and Sylvia Case, Lewisporte; two sons: Rev. Left to mourn his devoted wife: Rosalie (Hiscock); two sons: Richard (Doreen), Harbour Grace; Terry (Colleen Howe), Oromocto, NB; two daughters: Gertie (Terry) Carr and Denise Best (Brian Richey), both of Paradise; one step-daughter; Sheila (Monty) Rowe, Goose Bay; daughter-in-law, Helen Quinn, Calgary, AB. Predeceased by parents Mary (nee Bartlett)and Anthony Mugford Lear of Port de Grave, sisters: Ida Lear, Bertha Roberts, and brother Alan Lear. left with fond and loving memories her beloved husband of 60 years, Raymond; children: Judy Durant of Carbonear, Ross (Ruby) Sellars of Grand Falls-Windsor, Joy (Gary) Baker of Harbour Grace; six precious grandchildren: Joanne (Darrell) Mercer, John Durant, Roger (Sonya Piercey) Sellars, Jason Sellars, Kathryn Baker and Kristen Baker. SHEPPARD, Linda M. - Passed peacefully away at Pondview Manor in Shearstown on February 10, 2008, Linda M. Sheppard of Bell Island in her 61st year. Predeceased by parents: Bill and Lillian Newman; brother: John Newman and grandson: Shane Whelan. Left with fond and loving memories, sons: Gordon Sheppard (Colleen) of Spaniard's Bay, and Mark Sheppard of Mississauga, ON; daughters: Darlene Sheppard of Spaniard's Bay and Tina Whelan (Fred) of Cambridge, ON; four sisters: Enid Verge, Eilene Power, Marion Oliver, Ida Noseworthy; five brothers: Bill, Norman, Walter, Randy, and John (deceased); six grandchildren: Nicole Whelan, Shane Whelan (deceased), Ashley Fillmore, Katrina Fillmore, Joshua Sheppard, Samantha Sheppard; as well as a large circle of family and friends. Rested at Young's Funeral Home, Spaniard's Bay. Funeral service was held Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at Holy Redeemer Anglican Church, Spaniard's Bay.
