CHISLETT, Hedley Stanley - Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Friday, February 16, 2007, of Islington, aged 88 years. Predeceased by daughter: Sherry Lisa; son: Terrence; and sister: Elsie (John) Hunt. Leaving to mourn, wife: Edith; sons: Robert (Norma), Rick (Sherry), Tony (Bernita); daughters: Marina (Bernard) Regular & Rona (Wayne Rowe ) Janes, Mae (Gene Hedges), Marilyn (Rennie) Squires, Nita (Berle) Sparkes, Pamela (Melvin) Jackson, Paula (Glenn) George; 23 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. MCCARTHY, Ralph Alphonus - Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear Hospital on February 1, 2007, Ralph Alphonus McCarthy of Upper Island Cove, age 89 years. PARSONS, GEORGE E. - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loved one, George E. Parsons on February 27, 2007, aged 93, retired Canadian National Railway employee, the last of the family of parents Robert and Julia (Pye) Parsons. Predeceased by dear wife Elizabeth, son Clarence, daughter Maisie, sisters Katherine, Martha, Annie, brothers Richard and Arthur. Deeply saddened by his loss and left with fond and loving memories are son George (Vivian), daughters Irene (Bern), Nellie (Allister) and Rosilan (Jack), son-in-law Jack Hastings, fifteen grandchildren: Paul, David, John, Lori, Lila, Lisa, George, Kelly Ann Boisclair, Bern, Kelly, Brian, Vanette, Karen and Anthony; seventeen great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law Lily Clarke and Julia Oates, dearly loved neighbours Fred and Sharon Howell, special friend and caregiver Helen McCarthy; childhood friend Manuel Sutton, special friends Rose Penny, Sadie and Job Snow, Jeanette Penney; and many other relatives and friends. In Fred's earlier years he worked for Saunders and Howell Ltd., then Roaches Wholesale. In later years he went on to work with Penney Toyota in Grand Falls until the time of his retirement. WAY, Thomas Harold - At the Brookfield Hospital in Newfoundland on Thursday, February 1, 2007, of Thomas Harold Way of Sea View, age 66 years. Husband of the late Winnifred (Tim) (Brander) Way, who died October 17, 2006, and father of the late T.J. Way. Born in Newfoundland on October 19, 1940, son of the late Cluny and Sophia (Barbour) Way. He is survived by three sisters and one brother, Patricia (John) Boland, Cheryl Perry (Dwayne), Cluny (Pamela) Way, all of Newfoundland and Trudi Dennis, Ottawa, Ontario; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jean (Jerry) Ronahan, French River; Bud (Anne) Brander, Summerside and Winston Perry, Newfoundland; as well as a number of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bud and Mary (MacRae) Brander. Tom travelled home in mid December to his other "Beloved Island" to spend his final days with his sisters and brother. Family and friends are comforted by the great memories of Tom and (Tim), who are reunited with their son T.J. Resting at the Davison Funeral Home, Kensington, for visitation on Saturday, May 19, from 10 a.m. until time of the funeral service in the Davison Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m. Interment in People's Cemetery, Summerside. Left to mourn her loving family, three daughters: Margaret (Shannon) Ryan, St. John's, Rose (Hayward) Halliday, Manuels and Helen (Ron) Martin, Harbour Grace; five sons: Cyril (Helen), Harbour Grace, John (Barbara) and Walter, both of St. John's, Martin, Grand Prairie, Alberta and George (Tina), St. John's; nineteen grandchildren: Mark (Nicole), Julie, Rhonda (Jeff), Jacqueline (Dave), Kevin (Trudy), Kathy (Dave), Danny (Gina), Bobby (Wendy), Andy (Sarah), Christopher, Jonathan, Allison (Fraser), Michael, Madeleine, Sean, Theo, Gordie (Lisa), Christina and Katie; eight great-grandchildren: Emma, Alexander, Rhiannon, Michael, Maggy, Emma, Hannah and Benjamin; special niece: Agnes Gulliver (Gerald), Torbay; special friends: Lillian Ryan, Riverhead, Harbour Grace, John and Molly McCarthy, Cicily Dwyer, all of Carbonear; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Msgr. E.T. Bromley conducted the funeral mass on Tuesday, February 6 at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church and Cemetery, Carbonear. Donations in her memory may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at the Carbonear General Hospital or the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation, St. John's.
