BAKER, Jerome - Of Carbonear, NL passed away peacefully at the Carbonear General Hospital on Friday, February 4, 2005. Mr. Baker was 44 years old. He was predeceased by his daughter Levine Baker and father Fred Baker. He leaves to mourn his loving family; wife Bride Verge, Carbonear; daughters: Mandy Baker (Eric Gallant), Fort St. John, BC, Patricia Baker (Gordon Forward), Carbonear; granddaughter Alyssa Gallant, Fort St. John, BC; stepson Landon Verge, Carbonear; mother Mary Baker, Carbonear; brothers: Wade Baker, Vincent Baker, and Chris Barrowcliffall of Toronto, ON; sisters: Cynthia (Paul) Coombs, Upper Island Cove and Judy Baker, Toronto, ON; eight nephews and nieces; and a large circle of relatives and friends. The Funeral mass took place Tuesday, February 8, 2005 from St. Patrick's Catholic Church and Cemetery, Carbonear. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Slade's Funeral Home, Powell Drive, Carbonear.

DWYER, SusieAIma - Passed peacefully away at James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander on Saturday, February 5, 2005, Susie Alma Dwyer of Gander, formerly of Harbour Grace, age 88 years. Predeceased by husband Edward "Ned"; son George and daughter Catherine "Kay". Left to mourn five daughters: Doris (Jim) Scharpegge and Ruth Dwyer (Dave), both of Gander, Jean (Doug) Buchanan, Lower Sackville, NS, Pat (Terry) Oake, Gander and Susan (Joe) Howell, Mount Pearl; five sons: Gordon (Joan), Brampton, ON, Ed (Cheryl), Gander, Jack (Linda), Gambo, Philip (Joanne), Bramalee, ON and Terry (Connie), Langley; BC; daughter-in-law Linda Dwyer, Hr. Grace; son-in-law Peter Sheppard, Hr. Grace; a large number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers: Olsen (Doris) Noseworthy; St. John's and Jack (Betty) Nose- worthy, Mount Pearl; one sister Mildred Stone, Chamberlains; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Fr. F. J. Aylward conducted the funeral Mass on Tuesday, February 8 at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Riverhead, Harbour Grace. Interment took place in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Harbour Grace. Donations in her memory may be made to the H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Clinic, St. John's. FOWLER, Dominic - Passed peacefully away at Carbonear Hospital in the presence of his loving family, Dominic Fowler of Makinsons, age 89 years. Retired worker of the Dept. of Transportation, Bay Roberts Division. Dominic was predeceased by infant children: Dominic, George, Sarah and Bridget; grandsons: Gerald and Jerome; sons-in-law: Sam Bussey; Jim Lane and Ed Power. Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 68 years Pearl; six sons: Dan (Livey), Jim (Mary), Tom (Sue), Frank (Bernice), Cyril (Tina), Len (Elaine); seven daughters: Kathleen Lane (Mose), Rowena Bussey; Audrey(Mike) Scott, Emmie (Doug) Smith; Madeline, Carmel (Kevin) Lane, Judy (Eric) Morgan; 39 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; as well as a large circle of relatives and friends, especially the residents and staff of Collingwood Downs at Clarke's Beach whom he considered his extended family. Rested at Moores Funeral Home, Clarke's Beach. Father Brian Colbert performed the funeral mass at All Hallows Parish, North River on Tuesday; February 8. Interment took place at the Roman Catholic Cemetery Makinsons. Pallbearers were members of the Knights of Columbus, South River of which he was a member.

GILLINGHAM, Freeman - Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Thursday, February 3, 2005, Freeman Gillingham of Lower Island Cove, age 88 years. Left to mourn, wife Stella. Children: Kitty, Lower Island Cove, Maurene (Edward), Brampton, ON, Don White, Ontario, Elsie (Warren) Sparkes, Lower Island Cove and John Osmond; one granddaughter Heather (Garth); three great-grandchildren: Tanaiya, Aneesia and Treyvon; one sister Susie Fisher, Boston, Massachusetts, USA; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Rev. Mr. Albert Layden conducted the funeral service on Saturday, February 5 at Bethal United Church and Cemetery, Lower Island Cove. KELLY, Donna E. (Hiscock) - Passed away at Sudbury Regional Hospital, Laurentian Site, ON on Saturday, February 12, 2005 Donna E. (Hiscock) Kelly of Hamner, ON, formerly of Carbonear, age 56 years. Predeceased by parents: Josiah and Doris Hiscock. Leaving to mourn, husband Curtis; one sister Ruth (Douglas) Downey, St. John's; one brother Ross Hiscock (Sally), Hamilton, ON; parents-in-law: George W. and Lorraine Kelly, Curtis, Michigan, USA; sisters-in-law: Debbie (Roland) Morawski, Patricia Kelly and Brenda Kelly, all of Florida, USA; nieces: Nicole (Shane) Murphy, Paradise and Megan Morawski, Florida,- USA; nephews: Jeremy (Kelly) Downey, Paradise and Shane Morawski, Florida, USA; great-nieces: Claire Murphy and Chloe Downey; god-daughter Erin Letto, Labrador City and a number of other relatives and friends. RUSSELL, Eileen (nee Masters) - Formerly of Harbour Buffett, Placentia Bay. Passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family; on February 15, 2005, at the Hoyles Escasoni Complex, Eileen Russell, aged 83 years. Predeceased by her husband Willis in 1983. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, daughters: Gail Snook (Edwin), Faye Clarke; son Wayne Russell; devoted sister Tillie Dicks; eight grandchildren: Melanie Tucker (Randy), Joanne Snook-Hann (Kerry), Jeff Snook (Andrea), Kristy, Susan and Peter Russell, Jonathan and Katie Clarke; three great grandchildren: Jake, Stephanie and Leigha Eileen; Also nieces and nephews and other relatives and special friends. Special thanks to the nurses and staff of Hoyles Escasoni Complex and the Taylor family for their loving support. SMITH, Mrs. Enid C. - Passed peacefully away at Carbonear General Hospital on Thursday, February 24, 2005, Enid C. Smith of Bay Roberts, aged 92 years. Predeceased by her husband The Rev. Canon Thomas E. Smith; sisters: Victoria (Ray) Duffy, Marion Bradbury; Elsie (Clifford) Bond, Alice Williams and brother Marcus (Dorothy) Bradbury. Leaving to mourn, son Derek (Jean); daughters: Patricia (Mervin) Clarke, Elaine (Len) King, Marilyn (Roland) Dawe; brother-in-law Gordon Williams; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rev'd Mark Janes conducted the funeral service at St. Matthew's Anglican Church, Bay Roberts on Saturday, February 26, 2005. Interment was at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Cemetery, Coley's Point. SNOW, Mrs. Mabel (Chipman) - Passed peacefully away at Carbonear General Hospital on Monday, February 14, 2005, Mabel (Chipman) Snow, Callingwood Downs, formerly of Bay Roberts, age 91 years. Predeceased by husband Warren P; son James E.; sisters: Gladys and Blanche; brother Solomon and son-in-law Leo. Leaving to mourn, daughters: Elizabeth (Betty) (Eric ) Jerrett, Helen de Wit, Pauline (Joe) O'Brien; brother Chesley; sisters-in-law: Rev. Etta Snow and Joyce Chipman; six grandchildren: Dr. Carol Ann (Kent Stringer), Kenneth Jerrett, Lee Ann (Mike Dittrich), Jeffrey de Wit (Christine), Jason Green (Julia), Joel Green (Liz); four great grandchildren: Jacquelyn, Timothy, Nicholas Dittrich and Anson Green; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. ST. GEORGE, Mary C. - Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Sunday, February 6, 2005, Mary C. St. George of Heart's Desire, age 56 years. Predeceased by husband, James and sister Marie. Left to mourn, two brothers: Felix (Genevieve) St. George, Heart's Desire and Kevin Sr. (Tina) St. George, Edmonton, AB; one sister Theresa Ann (Alex) Legge, Heart's Desire; close friend Mary Hurley; Heart's Desire; a number of nephews and nieces as well as a number of other relatives and friends. Monsignor E. T. Bromley conducted the Inurnment on Tuesday; February 8 at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery; Heart's Desire. VERGE, Florence E - of Carbonear, NL passed peacefully at the Harbour Lodge Nursing Home, Carbonear on Wednesday, February 2, 2005. Mrs. Verge was 81 years old. WILCOX, Mildred - Passed peacefully away at the Harbour Lodge Nursing Home, Carbonear on Monday, February 7, 2005, Mildred Wilcox of Western Bay, age 86 years. Predeceased by husband Samuel. Left to mourn two daughters: Violet.(James) Jacobs, Ochre Pit Cove and Pearl (Wayne) McInnes, Ottawa, ON; three sons: Stan (Debbie), Lumsden, Wilson (Joan), Victoria and Leslie (Liz), Mount Steward, PEl; twelve grandchildren: Wayne, Gazy, Jeff; Suzanne, ISheryl, Jennifer, Trevor, Debbie, Cheryl, Jeff; Nicole, Wade, Scott, Kurt and Toby; thirteen great-grandchildren: Ryan, Lesley; Savannah, Danika, Brittany; Melanie, Vanessa, Shawn, Shane, Shanna, Bradley, Cameron and Stewart; sister- in-law Blanche Stockwood, Gull Island; also a large number of other relatives and friends.
