BLUNDON, Sadie L. - Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Tuesday, December 14, 2010, Sadie L. Blundon of Carbonear formerly of Bay de Verde, age 83 years. Predeceased by husband: Cecil. Left to mourn, one daughter: Marion (Daniel) Hiscock, Mount Pearl; one granddaughter: Dawn Havill (Clark Mackie), Orillia, ON; two great-grandchildren: Alexandra and Adam; also a large number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Rested at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear. Fr. Tim Parker conducted the funeral service on Thursday, December 16 at Noel's Memorial Chapel, Carbonear. Interment took place in the Interfaith Cemetery, Carbonear. Donations in her memory may be made to St. James Anglican Church. COTTER, Eileen May (Grant) nee Pinsent - Born April 22, 1920 in New Perlican, Newfoundland and passed away on November 30, 2010 in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Eileen is survived by her brother John Pinsent of Edmonton, step-sons Augustus, Peter and Donald Cotter, step-daughter Elizabeth (Betty) Pollard, newphew John Pinsent of Edmonton, nieces Jeanette L. Morton (Stuart) of Kelowna, BC and Shirley J. Pinsent of Edmonton, special friends Roy and Marilyn Comfort of Welland, other close relatives Jason (Linette) Morton, Marlena Morton, Jonathan Douglas (Yvette) Pinsent, Cpl. Robert Joseph Pinsent, Chantal Marie (Tarok) Pinsent, Tierany Brianne Tobiasson and Kyle Wesley Tobiasson. She is predeceased by her parents John S. Pinsent and Margaret Pinsent (nee George), both of Newfoundland. Eileen passed away after an eight year battle with Alzheimer's disease. She will be remembered as a kind, gentle and friendly person who quickly won the hearts of those who had the good fortune of knowing her. She enjoyed life to the fullest and especially enjoyed the times she spent with family and friends in Newfoundland, her native province. She will also be missed by friends she had in St. John's, Newfoundland where she lived for many years with her first husband Charles J. Grant. Eileen's family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to the management and staff at Millennium Trail Manor, who provided such wonderful love to her while she was under their care. We expecially extend our thanks to Dr. Porwal who treated her with such kindness and respect during her final days of life. HAUCA, Mabel A. - Passed peacefully away at the Green Bay Health Care Center, Springdale on Wednesday, December 29, 2010, Mabel A. Hauca of Old Perlican, age 97 years. Predeceased by husband: Peter; daughter: Christina McNeil; brother: Wright; sisters: Borden, Zilla, Essie and Belle. Left to mourn, five grandchildren: Darlene (Leo) Oliver, Edmonton, AB, Yvonne Breeze, Old Perlican, Steven Breeze (Jamie Newitt), Vancouver, BC, Charlene Whalen (Craig Rose), Carbonear and Larry McNeil (Sherri Shaw), Springdale; seven great-grandchildren: Crystal Breeze, Amanda Whalen, Evan Whalen, Christopher Brookings, Ashton Barrow-McNeil, Colby Barrow and Danika Barrow; one great-great-grandson: Richard Breeze-Smith; numerous Bingo friends; also a large number of other relatives and friends. HODDER, Lily Mae (nee Chipp) - Passed peacefully away at the Dr. A.A. Wilkinson Memorial Hospital, Old Perlican on Thursday, December 16, 2010, Lily Mae Hodder (nee Chipp) of Grates Cove, age 83 years. Predeceased by husband: Gilbert; daughter: Marilyn; grandson: Jamie; granddaughter: Rosie; brother: Pierce and sister: Daisy. Left to mourn, four daughters: Edna Meadus, Victoria, Juanita (Peter) Winters, Makkovik, June (William) Brown, South River, Ontario and Bonnie (Tony) Martin, Grates Cove; one son: Dorman (Barbara) Chipp, Stephenville; eight grandchildren: Jamie (Suzanne), David (Megan), Dana (Wade), Janiene (David), Rebecca (Kane), Lisa (Chris), Jillian (Matthew) and Kennedy; six great-grandchildren: Aaron, Alexandra, Kailey, Austin, Noah and Carter; sister: Maisie Foss, Baie Verte; sisters-in-law: Annie Chipp, Springdale and Margaret Holloway, Musgravetown; also a large number of other relatives and friends. ROBERTS, Florence - Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Wednesday, December 1, 2010, Florence Roberts of Spaniard's Bay, NL, in her 86th year. She is predeceased by her son: Wayne; daughter: Doris; parents: Robert and Emmie Hutchings; brothers: Bernaard and Silby; sisters: Lilly and Florence. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughter: Emmie (Ralph), Spaniard's Bay; sister: Pearl (William), Bay Roberts; 1 grandchild: Brian and a large circle of relatives and friends. The funeral service took place from Holy Redeemer Anglican Church, Spaniard's Bay on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at 2 p.m. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Young's Funeral Home, Spaniard's Bay.

SAUNDERS, Marjorie - Passed peacefully away at Pentecostal Senior Citizen's Home, Clarke's Beach on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 Mrs. Marjorie Saunders of Shearstown aged 88 years. Predeceased by parents William and Emmie Floyde Holmes (nee Saunders); husband: Roy Saunders; daughter: Marina; brother: William. Leaving to mourn sons: Melvin (Pauline) and Golden (Yvonne); sisters-in-law: Katherine Holmes, Naomi Saunders and Elizabeth Saunders; four grandchildren: Kirk (Tracy), Karl (Helen) Saunders, Dana and Robert Saunders; four great-grandchildren: Cassidy, Alianna, Tanner and Claire and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rev. Dean Sellars conducted the funeral service at Trinity United Church, Shearstown on Friday, December 17, 2010. Interment was at Trinity United Cemetery, Shearstown. Funeral arrangements were to Moore's Funeral Home, Bay Roberts. Pallbearers were Melvin Saunders (son), Golden Saunders (son), Kirk Saunders (grandson), Dana Saunders (granddaughter), Robert Saunders (grandson) and Edwin Holmes (nephew).
