CREWE, Doris - Passed peacefully away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, St. John's on December 12, 2007, Doris Crewe of Glovertown in her 81st year. Predeceased by her husband Harold, parents: Edward and Hannah Arnold; sister Frances; brothers: Pleaman and Adolphus and granddaughter Holly Nicole. Left to mourn are, her son Harold (Jacqueline); daughters: Evelyn (Elias), Melinda (Roy), Eileen (Wayne), Hertha (Wayne), Geraldine (Baxter), Lorraine (Norman); 18 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; one sister Marina; two brothers: Norman and George Arnold. Funeral service was held on Saturday, December 15, 2007 at Faith United Church, Glovertown, NL. Interment followed at Hillside Memorial Garden. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Oram's Funeral Home, Glovertown. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Lung Association.

HUTCHINGS, Roland - Passed away at the home of his daughters surrounded by family, Friday, December 7, 2007 , Roland Hutchings of Spaniard's Bay in his 65th year. Predeceased by his wife Shirley (Janes), mother Emma Jane, Dad Roland, brothers John and Edmund. Roland worked as a fisherman and also as a body man in his brother's (John) garage for many years. Dad was a very family oriented person. He loved to spend time with his grandkids and great-grandsons. Left to mourn his daughter Wanda (Greg); son Glen (Karen); sister Violet (Max) Menchions; brother George (Susan); five grandchildren: Nikki, Chris, Jen, Ashley and Dillon; three great-grandchildren: Deshawn, Isaiah and Braiden, many nieces and nephews. Rev. Budden conducted at the funeral service Holy Redeemer Church, Spaniard's Bay.

MILLEY, Edward - Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John's on Wednesday, December 26, 2007, Edward Milley of Western Bay, age 90 years. Predeceased by son: Calvin; parents: Joseph and Emily; sisters: Florence Sellars and Dina Lockyear; brother: Douglas. Left to mourn, wife: Hattie; two daughters: Florence (Sam) Green, Blackhead and Brenda (Ralph) Brookings, Western Bay; three sons: Malcolm (Frances), Western Bay, Wilbert (Linda), St. John's and Bruce (Bernadette), Western Bay; sixteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grand-children; one great-great-grandchild; one brother: Malcolm Milley Sr., Western Bay; sister-in-law: Mary Kennedy, Western Bay; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Rev. Roscoe Cole conducted the funeral service on Saturday, December 29 at McDowell United Church and Cemetery, Western Bay South. NOEL,Violet - Passed peacefully away at Hoyles Escasoni Complex, St. John's on Thursday, December 13, 2007, Violet Noel originally of Harbour Grace, age 85 years. Predeceased by husband: George Frederick, infant daughter: Elizabeth and baby son. Left to mourn: one son: George F. Jr., St. John's; two grandchildren: Sharon Noel (David Pitcher) and Gregory A Noel (Paula); five great-grandchildren: Sarah, Kate and Mark Pitcher, Andrew and Evan Noel; special friends and relatives: Ken and Olive Sheppard, Roy Noel and Jessie (Norman) Tilley; also a large number of other relatives and friends. O'FLAHERTY, Jane Frances - Passed peacefully away in the early hours of Thursday morning, December 6, 2007, with her family by her side, our dearest mother Jane Frances O'Flaherty of Northern Bay in her 98th year. She was the last remaining member of the family of Edmund and Elizabeth (Woodrow) Howell. Predeceased by her husband Augustus and her son Edward. Left to mourn her children Dr. William (Florence Ann), Moncton, New Brunswick, Dr. Patrick (Marjorie Doyle), St. John's, Mary (Mike) King and Bernadette (Ben) Dunne, both of Mount Pearl, Rosaleen O'Flaherty, St. John's and Fabian (Carol Ann), Northern Bay; her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Gertrude Howell, St. John's; special nephew Alphonsus, St. John's; niece and god-child Catherine, Mount Pearl; special friend Catherine Layman, Northern Bay and many other relatives and friends. Fr. Michael Barker conducted the funeral mass on Saturday, December 8 at Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church and Cemetery, Northern Bay. Left to mourn wife: Ann; son: Sean (Sonya), Portugal Cove-St. Philips; two grandchildren: Samantha and Matthew; father: William Sr., Carbonear; one brother: William, Labrador; two sisters: Linda Penney, BC and Lydia Baker, AB; mother-in-law: Katherine Goods, Guelph, ON; sisters-in-law: Susan (Bryan) Neath, Christine (Gerry) Mahoney, Mary Cook and Judy Overland, all of Guelph, ON; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Predeceased by parents: William and Frances; sisters: Mollie, Agnes, Kay, Bell and Flora; brothers: Frank, Max and John; father-in-law: Charles Taylor. Left to mourn wife: Minnie; one daughter: Cathy (Eric) Hunt, Harbour Grace; four sons: Chris (Lisa), Corey (Linda), Charles (Sheila) and Jamie (Kelly), all of Harbour Grace; eleven grandchildren: Bradley, Tracey, Crystal, Emma, Noah, Brianna, Jennifer, Amanda, Caitlin, Johnathon and Jessica; one great-grandson: Connor; mother-in-law: Catherine Taylor, Harbour Grace; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Left to mourn, three daughters: Audrey (Wallace) Budden, Salmon Cove, Joyce (Rayfield) Budden, Carbonear and Clara (Richard) Woolrich, Georgetown, ON; six sons: Robert (Glenys) and Warrick Jr. (Clara), both of Salmon Cove, David (Linda), St. John's, Edward (Geraldine), Scarborough, ON, Clayton (Marie), Carbonear and Wallace, Toronto, ON; fourteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one sister: Joyce (Harry) Stone, Georgetown, ON; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Predeceased by parents: Moses and Suzannah; grandchildren: Keith Taylor and April Garland; brothers: Ernest Kelloway and Ross Kelloway; brothers-in-law: William Pike, George Pike and Robert Dove; sister-in-law: Ellie Kelloway.
