Passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving family at the Carbonear General Hospital on Monday, August 4, 2014, Graham Butt of Freshwater, Carbonear, age 93 years. Predeceased by daughter, Lillian on July 31, 2014; brothers, Clayton, Gordon and Josiah; sisters, Mildred and Mary Ann. Left to mourn, wife: Phyllis; three daughters: Glenda (Gerry) Trepanier, Mount Pearl, Donna (Glenn) Balsom, Clarenville and Debbie (Chris) Swyers, Logy Bay; one son: Paul (Marilyn), Clarenville; son-in-law: Donald Noel, Freshwater, Carbonear; eleven grandchildren: Aaron, Edward (Tracy), Tara (Trent), Christopher (Krista), Stephanie (Steve), Ryan, Becky, Mandy (Steve), Michael (Janet), Jennifer (Mark) and Erica; nine great-grandchildren: Gage, Xander, Samiah, Amara, Preston, Brandon, Dylan, Graham and Tyler; one step-great-granddaughter: Samantha; sisters-in-law: Sophie Snow, Freshwater, Carbonear and Dulcie Snow, Victoria; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Rested at Noel's Funeral Home, Carbonear. Rev. Linda Pike conducted the Funeral service on Thursday, August 7 from the United Church, Freshwater, Carbonear. Interment took place in the United Cemetery, Freshwater, Carbonear. CLARKE, Joyce Eileen

Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Sunday August 31, 2014, Mrs. Joyce Eileen Clarke of Spaniard's Bay, age 87 years. Predeceased by her husband George and son Raymond, parents Absolom and Katie Sheppard, sisters: Florence, Phyllis, Bertha, Emma, and Jean, brother Nathaniel, and grandson Claude Clarke. Leaving to mourn daughters and sons: Sandra (Kevin Barrett), Barbara (Nathan Barrett), David (Bernadette), Beverly (Joe Dwyer), Georgia (Hayward Butler), 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 2 daughters-in-law: Sandra and Michelle, special nephew Paul Whalen, special friend Noreen Holmes and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rested at Lynch's Funeral Home, Spaniard's Bay. Funeral service was held Tuesday, Sept. 2 from Holy Redeemer Anglican Church, Spaniard's Bay with interment at Maul Tree Hill. FINN, Gerald Stephen 'Steve'

It is with shocked and heavy hearts we announce that on August 10, 2014 our beloved Steve passed away suddenly surrounded by his family at the age of 54 years in Edmonton, Alberta. He will be forever missed and loved by his family; wife, Judy; parents, Bride and Emmett; step-children, Mitchell (Courtney) and Jillian; six siblings, Sean (Mitch), Joan, Bren, Sharon (Rob) Dekker, Ellen and Michele; nieces and nephews, Chelsea, Kaegan, Shane, Mark, Luke, Jenny, Michael and Josh; as well as numerous extended family and friends. In keeping with Steve's wishes, cremation has taken place in Edmonton, AB. A Memorial celebrating Steve's life was held in Carbonear, NL. Another Celebration of Steve's Life will take place in Edmonton, AB at a later date. Steve always made a conscientious effort to help, in his words, "those who are less fortunate than ourselves". Left to mourn, son: Wallace (Elizabeth); two grandchildren: Lisa (Jason) Kwok, Florida and Jeff (Karen) Hollett, Yellowknife; two great-grandchildren: Kennedy and Mei-Lee; sister: Bertha (James, deceased) Bartlett, Cambridge, Ontario nieces: Betty (Ron) Lum, Oakville, Ontario and Vera (Bryce) Adams, Burin; nephew: Gordon (Carol) Bartlett, Cambridge, Ontario; also a number of other relatives and friends. Passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John's on Saturday, August 2, 2014, Jean LeShane of Lower Island Cove, age 77 years. Predeceased by parents: Beulah (nee Inkpen) and Jack (John) Sparkes. Left to mourn her loving husband of 51 years, Lloyd; son: Robert (Marlene), Lower Island Cove; daughter: Carol Ann (Dennis Walsh), Oshawa, Ontario; grandchildren: Mark, Vanessa, Zachary and Stephanie; brother: Donald (Patricia) Sparkes, Lower Island Cove; sisters: Belle (Calvin) Butt, Bay Roberts and Louise (Eric) Snelgrove, Truro, Nova Scotia; brother-in-law: Frank (Marg) LeShane, Lower Island Cove; sisters-in-law: Ethel (Fred, deceased) LeShane and Florence (Phillip, deceased) LeShane, both of Lower Island Cove; also a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
