HOWELL, Janet - Passed peacefully away at the Interfaith Citizens Home, Carbonear on Saturday; August 30, 2008, Mrs. Janet Howell of Carbonear, age 88 years. Predeceased by husband Harry Howell and parents Augustus & Mary Ann Oates. Left with fond and loving memories are her son Ken (Cathie) Howell; daughters Isabell (Howard) Worthman, Janet (Jim) Tetford, June (Rayfield) Dalley, Claudette Priddle, Harriet Short, Maxine Clarke and Sybil Howell; sisters Janie Laing, Dulsie Snow and Maxine Oates; brother Winston Oates; 19 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and a large number of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held at Bethany United Church and cemetery, Carbonear Tuesday, Sept. 2. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Slade's Funeral Homes, serving Carbonear, Bay Roberts and areas. Donations may be made in her memory to Daffodil Place. TRICKETT, (nee Moores) Dora K. - Passed peacefully away at Chancellor Park, St. John's on Friday, August 1, 2008, Dora K. Trickett of St. John's formerly LeGrow (nee Moores) born at Adams Cove on November 1, 1919. Left with many fond and loving memories are her nieces: Donna (Charlie) Taylor and Diane (Noel) Duff; brother-in-law: Jim Best; sister-in-law: Olive Moores and her family; also leaving to mourn are her stepchildren: Ross (Bernadette) Trickett, Doreen (Harris) Penney and Ruby Parsons; also a number of other relatives and friends. Rev. Stephen Matthews conducted the funeral service on Sunday, Aug. 3 at Ocean View United Church, Broad Cove. Interment to place at the United Cemetery, Blackhead. TRICKETT, John W. 'Jack' - Passed peacefully away at Carbonear General Hospital on Saturday, August 2, John W. 'Jack' Trickett of Harbour Grace, age 47 years. Predeceased by father: Harris Trickett; parents-in-law: Leo and Violet Kielley. Left to mourn, wife: Linda; two daughters: Danielle (Curtis) French and Crystal Kielley (Stanley Vokey), both of Edmonton, AB; mother: Susie Trickett, Carbonear; nieces: Crystal and Brittany; nephews: Michael, Blair, Daniel and Peter; four brothers: Ken (Barbara), Carbonear, Angus (Lillian), Western Bay, Tony (Ann), St. John's and Scott, Hr. Grace; three sisters: Beverley (Ray) Antle, Carbonear, Elaine Trickett, Hr. Grace and Tracy (Chris) Pye, Carbonear; brothers-in-law: Rick (Sarah) Kielley and Tony Kielley (Karen Oliver) all of Ochre Pit Cove; sister-in-law: Karen (Raymond) Kelly, Grates Cove; close friends: Norman King and Ted Pike; special friend: Beatrice Curl and also a large number of other relatives and friends. WHITE, Lorraine - Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Saturday, August 30, 2008, Lorraine White of Carbonear, age 77 years. Predeceased by parents: James and Roseanna Tucker; granddaughter: Melanie. Left to mourn: husband: Cyril; three sons: Hayward (Cavelle), Carbonear, Ronald (Joan), Port Blandford and Lanoy (Geraldine), Carbonear; six grandchildren: Stephanie (David), Steven, Vanessa (Guy), Jennifer, Christopher (Elva) and Ryan (Stephanie); seven great-grandchildren: Lauren, Steven, Morgan, Emily, Matteau, Keita and Lasha; one brother: Clyde Tucker; nieces: Wendy and Lori; cousin: Nancy; brothers-in-law: Harold (Gertie), Graham (Ada), Clyde (Elspeth) and Norman (Heather); sisters-in-law: Lillian (Ron), Mildred (Desmond) and Dorothy and also a large number of other relatives and friends. Rev. T. Wayne Blackwood conducted the funeral service on Wednesday; September 3 at Riverside United Church and Cemetery Salmon Cove. Yorke, Patricia - Committal Service to take place Sunday, September 6 at 2:00 p.m. in Bethany United Church Cemetery, Church Street, Carbonear, led by Rev. Stephen Matthews. Reception to follow at 2:30 p.m. in The Merchant's Manor, 152 Water Street. Born in Carbonear, eldest child of the late James and Kathleen (Forward) Rorke, Pat died August 11, 2008, in Halifax, NS. She is survived by her daughter, Lois Kathleen Yvonne Yorke (Halifax); grandsons, James Douglas Kernaghan (Halifax) and John Edward Kernaghan (Toronto); and son-in-law, Barry Cahill. The last surviving member of her family, Pat specifically requested that her ashes be returned to Carbonear and interred in the family plot.
'I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.'
