The Compass is a community newspaper
for the Conception Bay North/Trinity Bay areas.
It is published weekly on Tuesday.

 

BERRYMAN, Richard Thomas, March 30, 1953 - August 21, 2004 - Passed away from this life in the arms of his companion, Paula McNeil, at 5 p.m., August 23, 2004 in Greenwood, British Columbia. Builder, teacher, musician and tree planter of more than a million trees. I miss your sense of the ridiculous; I miss your heaven sent smile. Forever, Paula. A Roman Catholic Mass will be said on February 14, 2005 at St. Patrick's Cathedral, Carbonear, Newfoundland.

Menchions, Myra Doris (nee Vokey) - Passed peacefully away at the Harbour Lodge Nursing Home, Carbonear on Saturday, August 21, 2004, Myra D. Menchions of Bay Roberts (formerly of Spaniard's Bay), age 78 years. Predeceased by her husband Wilfred, parents Solomon and Ethel Vokey, daughters Pauline and baby Helen and sister-in-law Pearl Vokey. Left with fond and loving memories are her daughter Linda (Ray) Barrett, Upper Island Cove; son Nathan (Linda), St. John's; sisters Cavell (Leo) Green and Jean (Jim) Sullivan, both of St. John's and Rudy (Wilfred) Rees, Spaniard's Bay; brothers Nathan, Innerkip, ON and Randell (Marion), Spaniard's Bay; grandchildren Scott Mercer (Tanya), Shelly Mercer, Helen Menchions, Andrew Menchions (Colleen) and Ashley and Melanie Barrett; great-grandchildren Pauline and Mason Mercer as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. Rested at Young's Funeral Home, Spaniard's Bay: Funeral service was held 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 24 at St. Matthew's Anglican Church and Cemetery, Bay Roberts. Donations in her memory can made to the St. Matthew's Anglican Church Restoration Fund.
"Though your smile is gone forever and your hand we cannot touch, still we have so many memories of the one we love so much."
