Mr. Brendan M. Kavanagh of Carbonear passed away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Tuesday, April 16, 2013. Mr. Kavanagh was 83 years old. He leaves to mourn his loving family: Sisters: Rose (Bren) Haire, Alice Haire, Kay (Jerry) Evans, Bride (Roy) Boone, Joan (Wes) Pretty and Bernie (Pat) Manning. Predeceased by: Parents: Annie and Maurice Kavanagh. Sister: Mary (Leo) Butt. Brothers: Felix and Bill Kavanagh. Brother-in-law: Jed Haire. The funeral mass took place at St. Patrick's R.C. Church and Cemetery, Carbonear on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. The family received relatives and friends at Slade's Funeral Home, Powell Drive, Carbonear. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his loving memory to the Canadian Cancer Society. MERCER, Jean of Bay Roberts passed away at Carbonear General Hospital in the presence of her family on Friday, April 26, 2013. Mrs. Mercer was 84 years old.
