ANTLE, Charles N. - Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Monday, April 11, 2011, Charles N. Antle of Victoria, age 80 years. Predeceased by parents Charles and Maryann; sisters Mary Louise, Mabel, Elizabeth, Doris and Hannah; brother Clarence; brother-in-law Obediah Antle. Left to mourn, two sisters: Bertha Antle and Phyllis Byrne, both of Victoria; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Rested at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear. Pastor Geoffrey Ryan conducted the funeral service on Wednesday, April 13 at Bethel Pentecostal Church, Victoria. Interment took place in Bethel Pentecostal Cemetery, Victoria. BUTTON, Alma - Mrs. Alma Button of Victoria, who passed away peacefully at the Carbonear General Hospital with her loving family by her side on Friday, April 1, 2011. Mrs. Button was 82 years old. She leaves to mourn her loving family: Children: Vivian ( Junior) Pomeroy, Jean (Frank) Clarke, Robert (Corinne) Button, Roberta (Marwood) Butt, Blair (Joyce) Button, Kimberly (Geoff) Smith, Tracy (Tony) Menchions; Grandchildren: Warren (Brenda), Trevor, Robert Jr., Nelson, Lindsay (Eric), Krista, Kelsey, Joshua, Katilyn and Glenn; Great Grandchildren: Lucas, Isabel and Rachel; Sisters-in-law: Emma Elliott, Rita Elliott, Effie Button & Dorothy Stage; Brother-in-law: Alford Button; Dear Friend: Mariam Penney and a number of other relatives and friends. Predeceased By: Husband: Stanley Button; Daughter: Mary; Parents: Charles & Melleta Elliott; Brothers: George, Harvey and Gordon; Sister: Florence Moss. The Funeral services took place at Victoria United Church and Cemetery, Victoria, on Sunday, April 3, 2011 at 2 P.M. The family received relatives and friends at Slade's Funeral Home, Powell Drive, Carbonear between the hours of Saturday: 10:30 a.m.-12 noon, 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and Sunday: 10 a.m.-12 noon. CRUMMEY, Annie G. - Passed peacefully away at Lakeside Homes, Gander on Friday, April 8, 2011 Annie G. Crummey of Western Bay, age 82 years. Predeceased by husband Aubrey; parents: John and Nora Rose. Left to mourn, one son: Ira (Annette), Gander; three grandsons: Matthew, Justin and Stephen; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Left to mourn, three sisters: Marie Kearney and Margaret Reynolds, both of St. John's and Kay Reynolds, Harbour Grace; 10 nieces; one nephew; also a large number of other relatives and friends. MERRIGAN, Margaret G. - It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of our wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Margaret G. Merrigan at the Carbonear General Hospital on 26 April, 2011. Our mom died as she had lived, surrounded by her loving family whom she cherished above all else. Margaret was born on Bell Island, raised in Kingston but lived in Carbonear for most of her life. She was the daughter of Frank and Sarah Hurley. Besides her parents, Margaret was pre-deceased by her husband William, sister: Mary Theresa, daughter: Mary Margaret and grandsons: Wayne Paul McGurk and Jamie MacAskill. Our mom was the heart and soul of our family - a shining, happy light who lit up the lives of all of us. All who knew her were drawn to her by her beautiful smile and her ability to bring happiness and laughter to all she knew. Many loved her - especially her card-playing and dancing buddies. She is survived by four daughters: Catherine (Barry) MacAskill, Kennetcook, N.S., Sadie ( Jim) Holloway, Harbour Grace, Angela (Paul) Merrigan-McGurk, Halifax, N.S. and Helen (Charles) Merrigan-Martin, Gander; and six sons: John (Margaret), Harbour Grace, Frank (Carol), Carbonear, Anthony (Rosalind), Upper Island Cove, William (Beverly), Carbonear, Michael, Mississauga, James (Trudy Barrett) Fort MacMurray; four brothers: Michael (Alverna), Buchans, John, Edmund and Frank of Kingston; four sisters: Julie (Pat) Doyle, Gull Island, Alice, Loretta and Cecily Hurley, all of Kingston. In addition, Mom has left behind 20 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren as well as two special daughters-in-law, Brigitte Merrigan of Herford, Germany and Linda Merrigan of Carbonear. Predeceased by parents: Joseph and Eliza Evely; brothers: Harold Evely, Boyd Evely, Donald Evely, Winston Evely and Maxwell Evely; sister: Dorothy Parsons; sisters-in-law: Hazel Evely and Hilda Evely; brother-in-law: Alex Parsons. Left to mourn, four daughters: Angela (Lawrence) Mercer, St. John's, Phyllis ( John) Pretty, Chapel Arm, Brenda (Michael) Parmenter, St. John's and Helen (Alex) Lindsay, Delhaven, NS; three sons: Shannon (Margaret), St. John's, Bernard (Christine), St. John's and William (Renee), Riverhead, Harbour Grace; eight grandchildren: Larry (Elaine), John (Bernadine), Perry (Paula), Tracey (Glenn), Suzanne (Allan), Bernard, Daniel and Jeffrey; nine great-grandchildren: Roxanne, Amy, Jenna, Riley, Ryan, Laura, Maria, Ethan and Bella; also a large number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
