Passed peacefully away at her residence in Conne River on Sunday, October 14, 2012, Mrs. Philomena Benoit, age 74 years. Leaving to mourn her loving family: daughters, Sylvia (Howard) at Conne River, Gladys (Calvin) and Harriette (Clancy) at Labrador City, Madeline (Eric) and Joann (Ryan) at Conne River; sons, Giles (Collie), Mike (Alma), Donny (Arlene), Andy (Tina), Fabian (Nena) and Gordie (Krista), all at Conne River; twenty-eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; plus a number of other relatives and friends. Predeceased by her husband, Thomas, in 2005 and brothers, Ernest, Leonard and Walter. Funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at 11:00 am from St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church in Conne River with Father Justin Dawson officiating. Cremation followed. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Spencer's Funeral Home.

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gilbert King announce his passing at his residence in Head of Bay d'Espoir, NL on Saturday October 27, 2012 at the age of 87. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his sister: Charlotte Kearley, Head of Bay d'Espoir, NL; sister in law: Doris King, Head of Bay d'Espoir, NL; companion: Ruth Priddle, Milltown, NL as well as a large circle of other nephews, nieces relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents: Bert & Beatrice King; Sister: Margaret King; Brothers: James, Matthew, Clayton & Bert; brother in law: Ronald Kearley. The funeral service was held on Monday October 29, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Christ Anglican Church, Milltown with Reverend Roy Simms officiating. Interment followed at Christ Anglican Cemetery, Milltown. Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to Hynes' Coast of Bays Funeral Home, St. Alban's.

WALSH, Benjamin

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Benjamin Walsh announce his passing at the Carmelite House, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL on Saturday October 13, 2012 at the age of 84. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife: Beatrice; children: Ellen (Winston Hunt, Lunenburg, NS, Loretta, (Ross Mackey), Riverview, NB, Joe (Shiela), Botwood, NL & Betty (Baxter Jackman), St, Joseph's Cove, NL; grandchildren: Mark Hunt (Stephanie), Melvena (Laurel McIsaac), Yvonne Jackman (Fathie Gadhafi), Leon Jackman (Karissa), Peter Mackay (Heidi), Paul Mackay (Elisabeth), Christy Mackay & Sheldon Walsh (Robin); great-grandchildren: Ethan, Hayden, Ameer, Malak, Daniel, Benjamin & Cole; brother: Joe (Josephine), St. Alabn's, NL; sisters: Elizabeth Organ, St. Alban's, NL & Thelma, Burgeo, NL as well as a large circle of other nephews, nieces relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents: John & Sarah Walsh; brothers: William, Partick & Walter; sisters: Mary, Viola & Thelma. Ben worked as a Carpenter and School Bus Driver and was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. The funeral service was held on Wednesday October 17, 2012 at 11 a.m. at St. Ignatius R. C. Church, St. Alban's with Father William Hearn officiating. Interment followed at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, St. Alban's. Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to Hynes' Coast of Bays Funeral Home, St. Alban's.

WILLCOTT, Violet

Passed peacefully away at the Connaigre Peninsula Health Care Centre at Harbour Breton on Tuesday, October 2, 2012, Mrs. Violet Willcott, age 92 years, of St. Alban's. Leaving to mourn her loving family: daughters, Patricia (James Stamp, Jr.) at Mount Pearl, Prisilla Willcott at St. Alban's, Catherine Carroll (John) at Corner Brook, Magdlen Willcott (Chris) at Marystown and Genevieve (Leo) at St. Alban's; sons, Patrick Willcott (Delores) at Brighton, ON and John Willcott at St. Alban's; fourteen grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren; sisters, Laura Gale, Mona Willcott, both at Grand Falls-Windsor, and Amelia MacEachern; brother, Isaac Collier at St. Alban's plus a circle of other relatives and friends. Predeceased by her husband, Stanley; son, Gerard; daughters, Joan and Eleanor. Funeral service took place on Friday, October 5, 2012, at 11:00 am from St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church at St. Alban's with Father Edward Brophy officiating. Interment followed at the Roman Catholic Cemetery in St. Alban's. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Spencer's Funeral Home.
