Passed peacefully away at the Connaigre Peninsula Health Care Center in Harbour Breton on Monday, March 8, 2010, Mrs. Blanche Hatcher, age 84 years of Sandyville. Leaving to mourn her loving family; son, Manuel (Melinda) at Marystown; three daughters, Margaret (Bob Loveless) at Seal Cove, Beverly (David Snook) at Harbour Breton, and Tracey (Kevin Dinn) at Grand Falls-Windsor and special daughter, Gail (Kevin Cox) at Sandyville with whom she resided until she had to be admitted to long term care; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; three sisters, Elsie (Kenneth Bungay) at Fortune, Hilda (Fred Piercey) at St. John's and Mrs. Olive Poole at Hermitage; three sisters in law, Ada Wells at Sandyville, Ethel Wells at Fortune and Sue Wells at Calgary, plus a number of other relatives and friends. Predeceased by her husband, Charles Hatcher; parents, Walter and Dinah Wells; stepmother, Annie Wells; four brothers, Clayton, Foster, Thomas and Chesley Wells; one sister, Queena Wells. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2010, at 2:00 pm from St. Saviour's Anglicn Church in Hermitage/Sandyville with Rev. Charles Harris officiating. Interment will follow at the Anglican Cemetery at Hermitage/Sandyville. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Spencer's Funeral Home.

PIERCEY, John William

Age: 85
Location Milltown, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada

Passed peacefully away at the Central Newfoundland Health Care Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor on Wednesday, March 17, 2010, Mr. John William Piercey, who was residing at Hollett's Retirement Home in Grand Falls-Windsor since 2007, at the age of 85 years, of Milltown, formerly of Pass Island. Leaving to mourn his loving family: two daughters, Margaret (Ralph Priddle) and Sheila (Rev. Roy Simms) all at Milltown; four sons, William (Tryphena) at Milltown, Gerald (Karen) at Riverview, NB, Garry (Donna) at Edmonton, AB, and Wayne (Velma) at Conne River; twelve grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; three brothers, Harold (Susie) at St. John's, Joe (Alice) at Burgeo and Frank (Molly) at Stephenville; one sister, Mrs. Rachel Spencer at Harbour Breton; a long-time friend, Cherry Buffett; plus a number of other relatives and friends. Predeceased by parents, George and Elizabeth Piercey; wife, Lillian; three brothers and three sisters. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 21, 2010, at 2:00 pm from Christ Anglican Church in Milltown with Rev. Roy Simms officiating. Interment will follow at the Anglican Cemetery in Milltown. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Spencer's Funeral Home.

SAVORY, Simeon
Date of Birth: November 29, 1946
Date of Death: March 16, 2010
Age: 63
Location Belleoram, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada

Passed peacefully away at the Connaigre Peninsula Health Care Centre in Harbour Breton on Tuesday, March 16, 2010, Mr. Simeon Savory, age 63 years of Belleoram. Leaving to mourn his loving family: his adoring wife, Evelyn; three sons, Andy (Tanya) at Belleoram, David (Angie) at Rexton, NB, and Philip (Vanessa) at Gander; five precious grandchildren, Nicholas, Andrea, Kyle, Kiera and Logan; brother in law, Dave Blagdon (Linda) at St. John's; niece, Jonna (John) at Windsor, Ont; nephew, Cory at St. John's; special cousin, Phil (Mary) who was like a brother to him; father in law, Mr. Stephen Blagdon at Belleoram plus a number of other relatives and friends. Predeceased by his parents, Andrew (Nack) and Ann Savory; two brothers, Andrew and Marty; mother in law, Debbie Lawrence (Blagdon). Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 19, 2010, at 2:00 pm from St. Lawrence Anglican Church in Belleoram with Rev. Peter Windover officiating. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery at Belleoram. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Spencer's Funeral Home.

SIMMS, Mabel Alma
Date of Birth: May 07, 1937
Date of Death: March 06, 2010
Age: 72
Location Gaultois, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada

Passed peacefully away with her family by her side on Saturday, March 6, 2010, at the Central Newfoundland Health Care Center in Grand Falls-Windsor, Mrs. Mabel Alma Simms, age 72 years of Gaultois, formerly of Muddy Hole. Leaving to mourn her loving family; husband, John (married 54 years); children, Calvin (Sarah), Ruby (Herb), Ada (Garry), Darlene (Terry), Juanita, Mary (Roland), Ronald, Perry, Dennis, Pamela and Rodney (Wendy); fourteen grandchildren and one great-grandson, Cody, who she loved and adored; plus a number of other relatives and friends. Predeceased by children, Bob, Shirley and Jeanette; parents, John and Florence Fudge; brothers, Maxwell and George; and daughter in law, Tracy, plus a number of other relatives. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at 2:00 pm. from St. Luke's Anglican Church in Gaultois with Rev. Charles Harris officiating. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery in Gaultois. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Spencer's Funeral Home.
