Passed peacefully away at the Connaigre Peninsula Health Care Centre in Harbour Breton on Tuesday, June 1, 2010, Mr. Samuel Bambury, age 91 years, of Harbour Breton, formerly of Pools Cove. Leaving to mourn his loving family: one sister, Gertrude Rideout at Grand Bank; a number of nephews and nieces; a special niece, Charlene Skinner (Raymond) and family at Harbour Breton with whom he resided for a long time before having to go to the Connaigre Peninsula Health Care Center in Harbour Breton; other relatives and friends. Predeceased by his parents, Beatrice and William Bambury, and sister, Olive. Funeral service will be held from the McDermott Memorial United Church in Pools Cove on Friday, June 4, at 2:00 pm with interment to follow at the United Church Cemetery in Pools Cove. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Spencer's Funeral Home.

EVANS, Clarence

Passed suddenly away at his home in English Harbour West on Saturday, June 26, 2010, Mr. Clarence Reuben Evans, age 53 years. Leaving to mourn his loving family: wife, Theresa Ann; son, Morgan (Chris) at Gander; step son, Wally Clarke at Terrenceville; 3 grandchildren, Shawn, Bailey and Tyson; brother, Gordon (Dorothy) at English Harbour East; 3 sisters, Hazel (Wilson Kearley) and Christina Evans at English Harbour East, and Rita Hunt at Harbour Breton; Uncle Cluney (Elsie) and Aunt Ruby (Sidney); plus other nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Predeceased by father and mother, Reuben and Annie Mae Evans, and brother in law, Norman Hunt. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 1, at 2:00 pm from St. Thomas Anglican Church in English Harbour West with Rev. Peter Windover officiating. Passed peacefully away at the Connaigre Peninsula Health Care Centre in Harbour Breton on Wednesday, June 16, 2010, Mr. Neil McCarthy, age 68 years, of St. Jacques. Leaving to mourn his loving family; wife, Jane; one son, Neil and wife, Marlene, at St. Jacques; six daughters, Paulette Fiander (Henry) at North Harbour, Placentia Bay, Rosalyn Hickey (Tom) at St. Jacques, Florence Mullins (Dean) at English Harbour West, Michelle Poole (Glen) at Belleoram, Jackie McCarthy (Byron Welsh) at Dryden, ON, and Holly Vallis (James) at Lantz, NS; fourteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren; one brother, William (Mabel) at Grand Falls-Windsor and one sister, Dianne Skinner (Lloyd) at Riverport, NS, plus a number of other relatives and friends. Predeceased by his parents, Camillus and Agnes McCarthy; brother, George; two sisters, Beatrice and Blanche. Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 18, from the Roman Catholic Church in St. Jacques with Father Tom Duffenais officiating. Interment of ashes will follow at a later date. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Spencer's Funeral Home.

SNOOK, Eric

Passed suddenly away at his residence in Mississauga, Ontario, on June 11, 2010, Mr. Eric Snook, age 52 years, of St. Alban's. Leaving to mourn his loving family: father, Mr. Sylvester Theodore Snook; five brothers, James (Myrna) in Nova Scotia, Sylvester (Gladys) at St. Alban's, Damian (Joan) in Ontario, Jerry at Ottawa, and Eddy at Toronto; three sisters, Margaret (Edgar) at Head of Bay D'Espoir, Madonna and Theresa (Reg) at St. Alban's plus a large number of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his mother, Florence, in 2008. Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 18, 2010, at 2:30 pm from St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church in St. Alban's with Father Donn Adaza officiating. Interment will follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery in St. Alban's. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Spencer's Funeral Home.
