It is with great sadness that the family of the late Esmerelda Collier announce her passing at the Connaigre Peninsula Health Centre, Harbour Breton, NL on Monday February 25, 2013 at the age of 82. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children: Joclyn Crant, Swanger Cove, NL, Audrey (Bill Davis), St. Joseph's Cove, NL, Philomena (John Hull), St. Alban's, NL, Gertie Davis, St. Alban's, NL, Janice (Willie McDonald), St. Joseph's Cove, NL, Amelia Collier, Portugal Cove, NL & Abraham Jr. (Erin), St. Joseph's Cove, NL; 11 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sister: Margaret (George Dollimont), St. Joseph's Cove, NL; brother: Edmund Sutton (Shirley), St. Alban's, NL; sister in law: Loretta Sutton, St. Alban's, NL as well as a large circle of other nephews, nieces relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband: Abraham; sisters: Evelyn Organ, Frances Collier; brother: Pius Sutton; sons in law: Allan Davis, Charlie Crant & Shawn Haley. The funeral service was held on Friday March 1, 2013 at 11 a.m. at St. Ignatius R. C. Church, St. Alban's with Father Edward Brophy officiating. Interment followed at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, St. Alban's. Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to Hynes' Coast of Bays Funeral Home, St. Alban's.

Passed peacefully away at the Connaigre Peninsula Health Care Centre in Harbour Breton on Saturday, February 9, 2013, Mrs. Theresa Douglas, age 76 years of Harbour Breton. Leaving to mourn her loving family: daughters, Susan (Anthony Quann) and Mary (Newman Blagdon) at Harbour Breton; sons, Albert (Ellie) at St. John's, Lloyd (Karen) at Harbour Breton, Gordon at St. John's, Fred (Viola) at Harbour Breton and Ashley (Trixie) at St. John's; fourteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; daughter in law, Karen Osbourne Douglas; with fond and loving memories, the Cox Families; plus other relatives and friends. Predeceased by her husband, James; son, David; son in law, Melvin Walsh; parents, James and Theresa Molloy; Uncle George and Emmie Cox. Funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 from St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church at Harbour Breton at 2:00pm. Interment followed at the Roman Catholic Cemetery at Harbour Breton. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mark Howse announce his passing Ottawa, ON on Wednesday February 6, 2013 at the age of 66. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife: Colette; children: Dwaine, Jamie (Gwen), Christine (Sean) & Paul Kennedy; grandchildren: Laura, Glen, Jenna Marie & Nadine brothers: Tony (Ann), Lawrence (Sonia) & Everest; sisters: Marjorie (Steve), Loretta (Bruce) & Susie (Leonard) as well as a large circle of other nephews, nieces relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents: Freeman & Meta Howse. The funeral service was held on Wednesday May 29, 2013 at 11 am at St. Ignatius R. C. Church, St. Alban's with Father Edward Brophy officiating. Interment followed at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, St. Alban's. Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to Hynes' Coast of Bays Funeral Home, St. Alban's.

LAWRENCE, Silas

Called home to be with his Lord and Saviour on February 9th, 2013 after a short illness, Silas Lawrence, of Harbour Breton, at the age of 88 years old. Predeceased by his wife, Violet (1978), his wife, Muriel (1998), his daughter, Jessica (2001), brothers, Stanley, Winfred, Isaac, George, Thomas, sisters, Blanche and Mary. Leaving to mourn his children, Sam (Cynthia), Laura (Norman Weis), Silas Jr., Barry (Sarah Kenny) and Verna (Stephen Toy), eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, sisters, Lucy Stoodley(Edward), Dorothy Lambert (Thomas) and Effie Osbourne (Thomas), and many relatives and friends. Visitation was at Spencer's Funeral Home in Harbour Breton. Service was held on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013 from St. Bartholomew's Anglican Church in Harbour Breton at 11:00 AM with Pastor Elaine Rideout and Rev. Juanita Freeman officiating. Interment followed at the Pentecostal Cemetery in Harbour Breton. The family would like to thank the staff of the Connaigre Peninsula Health Care Centre for their exceptional level of care & compassion; the nurses at the End of Life Care Program: Ruth Wall, Darlene Felix and Paula Spencer; doctors Goodfellow, McKay and Amid Hoca and the staff at the Killick Retirement Home. Dad's care was exceptional: He was always treated with respect, dignity and loving kindness, for which we will be forever thankful.
Revelation 3:20 "Behold I stand at the door and knock. If any man hear my voice and open the door, I will come in to him and will sup with him and he with me". We believe Silas didn't have to knock: They were expecting him.
II Samuel 20:18 "Then Jonathan said to David, tomorrow is the new moon and thou shalt be missed because thy seat will be empty." Dad, you will be forever loved, and sorely missed.

Passed peacefully away at the Central Newfoundland Health Care Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor on Monday, February 18, 2013, Mr. John Richard Pierce, age 76 years of Harbour Breton. Leaving to mourn his loving family: sons, John and wife, Cecilia, Leo and wife, Sandra, all at Harbour Breton, Derek and wife, Amanda, at Halifax, NS, and Christopher and wife, Lori, at Harbour Breton; daughter, Elaine and husband, Leo Baker, at Harbour Breton; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild; brothers, Dermott (Daphne) at Grand Falls-Windsor, Arthur T. Pierce (Shirley) and David (Donna) all at Harbour Breton; sisters, Margaret Stoodley (Sid), Dorothy Skinner and Ann Moores, plus a number of other relatives and friends. Predeceased by his wife, Eliza; daughter, Mildred; Mother and father, Sarah and Thomas Pierce; brothers in law, David Skinner and Russell Moores. Funeral service was held on Friday, February 22, 2013 at 2:00 pm from St. Bartholomew's Anglican Church with Rev. Juanita Freeman officiating. SKINNER, Elizabeth Jane

Passed peacefully away at Ivy Meadows Nursing Home in Beaver Bank, NS, on Friday, February 15, 2013, Mrs. Elizabeth Jane Skinner, age 95 years formerly of Richard's Harbour. Leaving to mourn her loving family: children, Jim Skinner (Mary) at Grand Bank, Cecil Skinner (Phyllis) at St. Alban's, Alma Rose (Lindsay) and Carrie Douglas (Lloyd) at Hermitage, Hughie Skinner (Ann) at Toronto, ON and Banfield Skinner (Geraldine) at Lower Sackville, NS; twenty-two grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband, Harvey; parents, James and Edith Pack, and brother, John. Funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at 2:00 pm from St. Saviour's Anglican Church at Hermitage with Rev. Colbourne officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery at Hermitage. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Spencer's Funeral Home.

SNOOK, Master Corporal Dwayne Curtis

Passed peacefully away on February 24, 2013, at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie, ON, Master Corporal Dwayne Curtis Snook, age 39 years of Wreck Cove. Leaving to mourn his loving wife, Tania (nee Strowbridge); daughters, Rebecca and Renee; parents, Arthur and Evelyn Snook; parents in law, Gerald and Gertrude Strowbridge; grandfathers, Jonathan Snook and Garfield Cox; brothers, Terry and Nichol Snook, and Elvis Snook; sister in law, Colleen (Craig) Coombs; brother in law, Travis (Kayla) Strowbridge; nieces, Candace Coombs, Meagan and Jenna Snook; plus a large circle of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Funeral service was held on Sunday, March 3, 2013, at 11:00 am from All Saints Anglican in Wreck Cove with Reverend Juanita Freeman officiating. Interment followed at All Saints Cemetery at Gander. Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John's on Sunday, February 17, 2013, Mr. William Thomas Snook, age 64 years of Harbour Breton. Leaving to mourn his loving family: parents, Alexander and Isabelle Snook at Harbour Breton; brothers, Wesley (Audrey), Alex (Bride), Hubert (Linda), Gary (Georgina) and Carl (Maureen) all at Harbour Breton; sisters, Christabelle (Leo) at Harbour Breton, Whilemina at St. John's and Nancy (Ambrose) at Harbour Breton; his many friends at the Hoyles-Escasoni Home at St. John's; many other close family members that were dear to him; and other relatives and friends. Predeceased by his brother, Wade, aunts, uncles and other relatives. Funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at 2:00 pm from St. Bartholomew's Anglican Church in Harbour Breton with Rev. Juanita Freeman officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery at Harbour Breton. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Spencer's Funeral Home.
