Passed peacefully away at the James Paton Memorial Hospital in Gander on Thursday, August 1, 2013, Mrs. Olive Bobbett, age 93 years, who resided at KM Homes in St. Alban's, formerly of Pass Island. Leaving to mourn her loving family: son, Clyde and wife, Audrey; daughter in law, Ida Bobbett, all at Sandyville; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; sisters in law, Olive Piercey and Eva Piercey, both at Fortune; plus a number of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Predeceased by her husband, Ralph; son, Kenneth; daughter, Winnie Lushman; son in law, Ralph; granddaughter, Darlene; plus other relatives. Funeral service was held on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at 11:00 am from the St. Saviour's Anglican Church at Hermitage-Sandyville with Rev. George Spencer officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery, Hermitage-Sandyville. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Spencer's Funeral Home.

FOOTE, Ada Maude

Passed away due to a tragic traffic accident on August 27, 2013, Ada Maude Foote, age 71 years of Milltown. Born January 1, 1942, she was the eldest of eleven children. Leaving to mourn children: Dianne, Colleen (Chris), Margaret (Albert), Dean (Aileen), John, and Calvin (Vickie); grandchildren, Charlene, Candace, Johnny, Kayla, Stephen, Bryanne, Christopher, Daniel, Alicia, Jared, Jackson and Marshall; great grandchildren, Devon, Alysha, Kaia, Gregor, Nuatii and Henry; brothers, Don (Margaret), Calvin (Mary), Gordon (Philomenia), and Ernest (Deenie); sisters, Eileen, Betty (Dean), Barb, Faye (Javis), and Gloria (Eugene); special aunt and numerous friends. Predeceased by husband, Freeman (Oct. 2011), her parents, Gordon and Matilda Sutton, and sister, Mildred. Funeral service took place at Christ Anglican Church on Saturday, August 31 at 4:30 pm. with interment following at the Anglican Cemetery, Milltown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ Anglican Church. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Spencer's Funeral Home.

Passed peacefully away at the Central Newfoundland Health Care Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor on Sunday, August 11, 2013, Mrs. Catherine Mary Howse, age 66 years of St. Alban's. Leaving to mourn her loving family: husband, John; sons, Lawrence (Pam) at St. John's, Glen at Oshawa, ON, Danny (Jill), David and Jason (Lori) all at St. Alban's; daughters, Mary Glenda and Keith Collier, Elizabeth and Andy Drew, Nancy and Derrick Davis, all at St. Alban's; seven grandchildren; sister, Effie and William Byrne; brother, Gerard and Winnie Benoit all at St. Alban's; sisters in law, Sarah Benoit at St. Alban's and Emma Benoit at St. John's; plus a number of other relatives and friends. Predeceased by her daughter, Glenda Mary; father and mother, Lawrence & Elizabeth Benoit; brothers, Joseph and Anthony; sister in law, Nellie Northcotte Benoit. Funeral service was held on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at 11:00 am from the St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church at St. Alban's with Father Edward Brophy officiating. Interment followed at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, St. Alban's. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Spencer's Funeral Home.

Leaving to mourn his loving family: son, Danny (Angela); daughter, Stephanie (Ryan) and precious grandchildren, Logan and Gia, all at Sydney, NS; mother, Mrs. Melita Hynes at Harbour Breton; brothers, Henry (Millie) at Halifax, NS, Jim (Mildred) at St. John's, and Joey (Cynthia) at Harbour Breton; sisters, Genita (Terry Alexander), Melita (Bernard Finn), Margaret (Roy Griffin), all at St. John's, Maureen (Ken Ion) and Carolyn (Bill Drake) at Harbour Breton, Joan (Cliff Hynes) at Calgary, AB, Betty (Keith Hunter) and Barb (Viateur Claveau) at Edmonton, AB; special God child, Billy Drake; plus a number of other relatives and friends. Predeceased by his father, Stephen Thomas Hynes; baby sister, Dale; and special friends, Simeon Fiander and Gerald Fiander. Funeral service was held on Friday, August 30, 2013 at 2:00 pm from the St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church at Harbour Breton with Father Justin Dawson officiating. Interment of ashes will follow at a later date. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Spencer's Funeral Home.

Passed peacefully away at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor on August 27, 2013, after a long and courageous battle against COPD, Mr. Thomas William Simms, age 85. Predeceased by his loving and devoted wife, Hazel (1994) and his brother, Chesley (2007). He leaves behind with loving and precious memories his daughter, Janet Toope (Terry) and his son, Ronnie; his sisters-in-law, Ada Simms (Port aux Basques) and Mary (John) Wells (Harbour Breton); nieces and nephews, Bob (Gertie) Simms, Garf (Joan) Simms, Mary (Max Keeping), Doug (Audrey) Wells, Hannah (Daron Lilly) and Gary (Trudy) Wells; and a large circle of extended family and friends, especially step-brother, Jacob (Blanche) Simms. Funeral service was held on Saturday, August 31at 2:00 p.m. from St. Bartholomew's Anglican Church with Rev. Juanita Freeman officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery, Harbour Breton. Flowers are gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to the S.P.C.A or the Newfoundland and Labrador Lung Association. Arrangements entrusted to Spencer's Funeral Home.
