Leaving to mourn: his loving wife, Wanda; daughters, Caitlyn (Dylan) and Brandy; sons, Danny and Carr; sisters, Bessie (Ambrose), Barbara (Gerald), Claudia (James) and Mary (Joseph); brothers, Linus (Patricia), Edward (Doris), Joe (Judy) all at Harbour Breton, Norman at Nova Scotia, John, Vincent (Jr.), Dan and James Will at Harbour Breton; sister in law, Barbara, at Nova Scotia; his very special friend, George Cox; members of the Pierce Family plus a number of other relatives and friends. Predeceased by parents, Vincent and Julia Baker; brother, Peter; sister (Jane Snook)(Stewart); sister in law, Mahala Baker; mother and father in law, Norman and Rosalie Pierce. Funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at 11:00 am from St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Harbour Breton with Father Justin officiating. Leaving to mourn her loving family: children, Junior (Vera) at Head of Bay D'Espoir, Gregory at Grand Falls-Windsor, Everest (Melita) at St. Albans, Amy Farrell (Pat) at Marystown, Alfred Barnes (Aggie) at St. John's, Eric (Brenda) at Mississauga, ON, Beatrice MacDonald (Roger) at Scarborough, ON, Don Barnes at Head of Bay D'Espoir, Elaine Mulrooney (Steve) at Buchans, Rick (Shelly) at Oakville, ON, Daphene Barnes at Yellowknife, NWT; eighteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; brother, Bill Caines at A.M. Guy Memorial Hospital in Buchans; sisters, Margaret Kearley and Elizabeth Collier (Finton) all at St. Veronica's plus a number of other relatives and friends. Leaving to mourn his loving family: wife, Lottie; sons, Simeon (Elsie) and Gordon (Marie) at Pool's Cove, and Roland (Gloria) at Grand Bank; daughters, Patsy, residing with her Mom at Pool's Cove, Sylvia (Leslie) at Mose Ambrose and Evelyn (Albert) at Pool's Cove; thirteen grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren; brother, Freeman (Amy) at Pool's Cove plus a large circle of family and friends. Predeceased by his loving daughter, Lucy, in 1983; brothers, Henry, Samuel and Ephriam; sisters, Elsie and Deliah; and mother and father, Gladys and Simeon Caines. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his loving wife: Esmerelda; children: Joclyn Crant, St. Alban's, NL, Audrey (Bill Davis), St. Joseph's Cove, NL, Philomena ( John Hull), Gertie Davis, all of St. Alban's, NL, Janice (Willie McDonald), St. Joseph's Cove, NL, Millie (Shawn Haley), St. John's, NL & Junior (Erin), St. Joseph's Cove, NL; 11 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren as well as a large circle of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
