Passed peacefully away at the James Paton Memorial Hospital in Gander on Saturday, April 3, 2010, Mrs. Sarah Caines (nee Rose), age 90 years of Pool's Cove. Leaving to mourn her loving family: five sons, Malcolm (Odette Caines) and Kenneth (Emma) at Halifax, NS, Samuel (Anne) at Pasadena, Hibbert (Ellie) and Doug (Jennifer) at Pool's Cove; three daughters, Gladys (Simeon Hardy) at Halifax, NS, June (Neil Williams) at Pool's Cove and Margaret (Gerald Buffett) at Gander; twelve grandchildren and four great grandchildren; five brothers, Kenneth Rose and Enos Rose (Margaret) at Sydney, NS, Robert (Levina) at Halifax, NS, Alton at Sarnia, ON, and Thomas (Pat) at Halifax, NS; two sisters, Ada Crant at London, ON and Charity Pope (Thomas) at St. John's; plus a number of other relatives and friends. Predeceased by her husband, Samuel; infant son, Baby Caines; sisters, Frances May and husband James, and Irene Hillier and Nauss; parents, Hibbert and Charity Rose. Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 5, 2010, at 2:00 pm from MacDermott United Church in Pool's Cove with Rev. Larry Noseworthy officiating. Interment will follow at the United Church Cemetery at Pool's Cove. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Spencer's Funeral Home.

Passed peacefully away at his home in St. Alban's on Sunday, April 25, 2010, Mr. Wilfred Collier, age 63 years. Leaving to mourn his loving family: wife, Sheila; four sons, Brad, Derek (Glen), Neil, and Justin (Jennifer) all at St. Alban's; two daughters, Nicole (Paul Price) and Alison (Darren) all at St. Alban's; four grandchildren, Joshua, Dillon, Taylor and Adam; four brothers, Edmund (Rose) at Milltown, Mike at Grand Falls-Windsor, Gus (Sue) at St. John's and Anthony (Katrina) at Toronto; six sisters, Linda (Pat), Theresa (Mike) at Halifax, Mildred (Ross) at St. John's, Joan (Jeff) at Churchill Falls, Mary (Cecil) and Beth (Alfred) at St. Alban's plus a number of other relatives and friends. Predeceased by grand daughter, Kenden Allie Collier; brother, Pat and parents, Wallace and Alice Collier. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at 2:30 pm from St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church in St. Alban's with Father Donn Adaza officiating. Interment will follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery at St. Alban's.

HUNT, Edgar

Passed peacefully away at the Connaigre Peninsula Health Care Centre in Harbour Breton on Thursday, April 1, 2010, Mr. Edgar Hunt, age 91 years of Harbour Breton. Leaving to mourn his loving family: four sons, Wallace (Sadie) at Fredericton, NB, Raymond (Esther) at Rose Bay, NS, Edgar (Madeline) at Twillingate, NL, and Winston (Ellen) at First South, NS; eleven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; daughter in law, Christine; two brothers, William at Louisbourg, NS and James at Bishop's Falls plus a number of other relatives and friends. Predeceased by his wife, Pearl; son, Roger; grandson, Archibald; brothers, George and Walter; and sister, Evelyn. Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 5, at 10:30 am from St. Bartholomew's Anglican Church in Harbour Breton with Rev. Colbourne officiating. Interment will follow at the Anglican Cemetery in Harbour Breton. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Spencer's Funeral Home.

HUNT, James Henry

Leaving to mourn his loving family: children, Edward (Marie) at Lunenburg, NS, Linda (Wilson Price) at St. John's, John (Frances) at Harbour Breton, Vivian (Reg Day) at Lunenburg, NS, Ida (Manuel Bungay) at Harbour Breton, Ruth (Bill Hickey) at Bishop's Falls, Gladys (Gilbert Wheeler) at Port au Port and Jim (Trudy) at Harbour Breton; nineteen grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren; brother, William at Louisbourg, NS, plus a number of other relatives and friends. Predeceased by his loving wife, Adelaide, on December 21, 2009, daughter, Eleanor, brothers, George, Walter and Edgar, sister, Evelyn, and parents, Andrew and Agnes. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 8, 2010, at 2:00 pm from St. Bartholomew's Anglican Church in Harbour Breton with Rev. Gerald Colbourne officiating. Leaving to mourn her loving family: six daughters; Rita (Frank Benoit) and Edwina (Jerry Wetzel) at Conne River, Audrey (Dale Schmichel) at Regina, SK, Marilyn (Stan Hill) at Conne River, Phyllis (Len O'Neill) at Halifax, NS, and Maggie (Phil Bridle) at Rocky Harbour; nineteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Noel and Lawrence (Ethel) at Conne River plus a number of other relatives and friends. Predeceased by her husband, Leonard; two sons, Roger and Gerald; parents, Andrew and Amelia Joe and many brothers and sisters. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at 2:00 pm. from St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church in Conne River with Father Donn Adaza officiating. Leaving to mourn her loving family: daughter, Vera Rose (Allan) at Belleoram; grandsons, Barry Rose (Paula) at English Harbour West and Kelly Rose (Lori) at St. John's; granddaughter, Jayna Rose at English Harbour West; sisters, Emily Griffins at Ship Harbour, Georgina Woolley (Frank) at Belleoram and Mona Poole (Angus) at St. Jacques; brothers, Freeman Savoury Sr. , Neville (Shirley) and Norman (Alfreda), all at Belleoram, and Raymond (Rose) at Lunenburg, NS, plus a number of other relatives and friends. Predeceased by one son, Albert Freeman Savoury; parents, Pheobe and William John Savoury; grandson, Darcy Allan Stanley Rose; brother, Eric John (Jack) Savoury; nephew, Eric Gordon Savoury; niece, Hazel Young; sisters in law, Julia Savoury, Lenora Fizzard and Daphne Savoury.
