BARTER, Wallace, Louisbourg - 71 yrs Besides his mother, Wallace is survived by his son, Clinton (Amy), Sydney; grandchildren, Julianne and Peyton; sister, Rosanna Rosie (Raymond) Lahey, Louisbourg; brothers, Andrew (Gladys), Billy (Loretta), Raymond (Diane) and Calvin (Linda Dinks ), all of Louisbourg; nieces and nephews, Andy, Tara, Lorrie, Jonathan, Taylor, Amy, Raylene and Rodney. He will be missed by many good friends, especially by his life-long friend, Allister MacDonald. A private family service will take place. Visitation will be held at St. Bartholomew's Church, Louisbourg on Monday, December 14, 2020 from 2-4 p.m. Covid-19 restrictions of social distancing are to be followed and masks are mandatory. Interment will take place at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Sydney Memorial Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 62, Louisbourg or to charity of your choice. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.sydneymemorialchapel.ca or emailed to sydneymemorialchapel@ns.sympatico.ca LeMOINE, Rodney C., North Sydney Rod was a graduate of Thompson High School; he was employed with Sears for 40 years, retiring in 1993 as the North Sydney outlet manager. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, North Sydney, served on the parish council for sixteen years, member of the Married Couples Society and church choir. Rod served as the Secretary-Treasurer of Lakeside Cemetery for a number of years. Rod is survived by his wife, Blanche (Davis) LeMoine; by his sons, Wayne LeMoine (Dr. Debbie Sheppard LeMoine), Halifax, Edward LeMoine (Tonya Brown LeMoine), Halifax; four grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Matthew, Sasha and Jayson, also by a number of nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Rod was predeceased by sisters, Mae Matchum, Adelaide Gracie and Annie Parsons, by his brother, James LeMoine. Thank you to the Palliative Care staff at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital for their excellent care over the past week. By request, there will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held at a later date in Lakeside Cemetery, North Sydney. Memorial donations may be made to St. John the Baptist Anglican Church. She is survived by her husband, Robert MacKinnon: daughters, Wanda, Toronto; Diane Smith Jardine (Bruce deceased), Chester; Bernice Legge (George), Dartmouth; Marlene Jacobi (Eric), Dartmouth; Michelle Melanson (Ron), Halifax; son, James Smith, Lower Sackville; brothers, Percy (Carol), Edmonton, Alberta; Richard (Monique), Mount Uniacke; Gord Seymour (Sherry), Chester; David Seymour, Bridgewater; sisters, Paulette Powers (David deceased), Sydney Mines; Ruth Riaux (Rick), Sydney; Mary Lou, St. John's, Newfoundland; grandchildren, Darren Smith, Melissa Smith, Todd Hodder, Jeremy Smith, Nicole Smith, Daniel Jardine, Spencer Jardine, Jillian Blinkhorn, Courtney MacMullin, Evan Williams, Morgan Williams, Avery Hartland, great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Brandon, Aiden. She was predeceased by her first husband, James R. Smith; sons, Joseph and William Smith; brother, Joseph Reid; sisters, Joan Pink, Joanna Scott and Florence Murphy. At this time, the family would like to thank the nursing staff, doctors and others who cared for Geraldine during her extended stay at Strait Richmond Hospital. Thank you very much for the care and kindness you showed to her. It was much appreciated. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. Due to COVID 19 restrictions a celebration of her life will take place at a later time. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
