Hodder (Cheffey), Bertha Bertha is survived by her two daughters, Bernice MacIsaac, Victoria, BC and Dolores (Alan) Wilson, Glace Bay; her seven grandchildren, Michelle (John) Baird, Scott (Pamela) MacIsaac, Blaise (Nicole) Wilson, Jamey (Jane) MacIsaac, Shauna (Ian) Johnston, Alison (Mark) Hoogland and Blair (Kat) MacIsaac, and by 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Dora Dardy, NL and many special nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Harry in 1970; sisters, Lillian, Susie and May; brothers, William and Thomas, and son-in-law, Alexander (Sandy) MacIsaac. Many thanks to the staff of Seaview Manor who treated her with care and laughter. To Dr. Mark Elleker for his compassionate care for the four years she spent at the Manor. Visitation will take place at Patten Funeral Home in Glace Bay on Tuesday, June 12 from 2-4 and 7-9, Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Mary's Anglican Church, Glace Bay with Rev. Myrna MacMullin officiating. Interment to follow in St. Mary's Church Cemetery. Condolences may be forwarded to the family by visiting www.pattenfuneral.com. Family flowers only. If desired, donations in Bertha's memory may be made to a charity of your choice. Neary (Cole), Margaret Jean Margaret loved and cared for people all of her life. In her early years, she worked as a housekeeper and caregiver, hired privately by families to care for their elderly parents. She shared many fond memories of caring for residents at Mackies Nursing Home in New Aberdeen, Glace Bay. Margaret's most treasured memories in her life were spent with her family, as she was a great story teller and enjoyed laughing. She'll always be remembered for her great love of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her three daughters, Catherine 'Kay' (John), London ON, Helen (Bruce), Diane (Ross), both of Glace Bay; four sons, Andrew (Mary-Anne) ON, Raymond (Barb), Patrick, John (Cathy), all of Glace Bay. Margaret is survived by five generations of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews. A special mention to her beloved cat, Fluffy, who will miss her dearly. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Andrew; two children in infancy; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild; sisters, Elizabeth, Lynn, and brothers, Richard, Alex, Silas and William. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 29, 2018 from 1 p.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. all in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay, with Fr. Norman MacPhee presiding. Reception will follow in funeral home. Interment will be in St. Anne's cemetery. Donations in memory of Margaret Neary can be made to the local Alzheimer's Society. The family would like to send a special thank you to the amazing staff of the Victoria Haven Nursing Home with special mention to John, who she adored so much for the kindness and compassion provided to our mother during her stay. Online condolences to the family can be expressed at: www.vjmcgillivray.ca Seymour, Bertrum "Bert" Slaney, Roger Roger was predeceased by his father, Herb Slaney, and is survived by his wife, Valerie; his sons, Ryan (Krista) and Tristan; his mother, Therese, as well as his siblings, Christina (Jacques) Perrot, Gary Slaney, Rudy (Karen) Slaney, Lisa (Jim) Loder, Sonia (Andy) Slaney, Rodney (Barb) Slaney and Claudia (Frank) Brockerville. A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, June 29, 2018 at 2 p.m. at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel to be followed by a reception at the Canadian Coast Guard College. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of your choice will be appreciated.
