Rose Morrison
passed away peacefully, with family by her side on Friday, December 16, 2016, at Bancroft, ON, two weeks after celebrating her 90th birthday. Rose was born on December 2, 1926 in Westmount, Cape Breton, NS. Rose was the daughter of the late George and Rose Ann Steele (Strickland) of Newfoundland, and sibling to 14 brothers and sisters. Wife to the late Huber Morrison (1981). Loving mother to Wally (Dianne) of Halifax, Frank (Dale, predeceased 2012) of Ottawa, Catherine (predeceased 2009), Roseann (Gary) of Bancroft, Patricia (Glenn) of Pakenham, John (Mary) of Lindsay and Isabelle (Laverne) of Kitchener. Treasured grandmother to 16 grandchildren, Kimberly, Sherry, Sean, Tammy, Wendy, Frances, Cindy, Huber, Scott, Jennifer (predeceased 2000), Michael, Shannon, Sean, David, Derrick and Shane. Adored 'Granny The Great' to 33 great-grandchildren, Tara, Garitt, Payton, Matthew, Victoria, Benjamin, Nicholas, Madison, Arlo, Eilidh, Freyja, Ryan, Nicholas, Abigail, Katherine, Stephanie, Samantha, Sage, Dakota, Kayleigh, Coady, Jessica, Koreena, Jackson, John, Jordan, Leah, Alisha, David James, Brook, Brittany, Rylynn and Kaylee (predeceased 2000). Very special great-great granny to Camryn and Luka.

A private interment will be held in Waterloo, Ontario in the spring of 2017 at Parkview Cemetery followed by a celebration of life at her granddaughter Sherry's home in Heidelberg. Rose will be laid to rest beside her daughter, Catherine and Granddaughter, Jenny. Arrangements entrusted to M.G. Daly Funeral Home, Maynooth. O'ROURKE, KATHLEEN

Passed in Sherbrooke, Nova Scotia, on December 21st, 2016

It is with heavy hearts, that we the family announce the passing of Kathleen O'Rourke of East Street, Whitney Pier. Living a full life of 84 years, Mom passed away peacefully after a brief stay at High Crest Nursing Home in Sherbrooke on Dec. 21, 2016. Born on July 16, 1932, River Head, Harbour Grace, NL, Kathleen was the only daughter of the late James and Mary (Hicks) Reynolds. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mom worked for Holy Angels Convent for 46 years and was a member of Holy Redeemer Parish. She was a kind and loving mother and grandmother who always put family first. Mom loved to shop and always enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was a very compassionate person who always lent a helping hand to those in need. Mom enjoyed her work at Holy Angels Convent and made many lifelong friendships during her career. She was full of laughter and fun and always enjoyed being "on the go".

Mom is survived by her loving sons, Kevin (Julia), John (Gracie), Francis, Michael (Anita) and daughter, Betty (Blair) Melanson, all of Sydney; 10 grandchildren, Stacey, Natasha, Kevin, John, Jason, Janine, Reilly, Corson O'Rourke and Michelle and Jonathan Melanson. Besides her parents, Kathleen was predeceased by her loving husband, John O'Rourke of 63 years; brothers, Cyril, East Bay, Rupert, Toronto, Bill, Sydney and two brothers in infancy, Patrick and Richard.

Visitation for the late Kathleen O'Rourke will be held at the Pier Community Funeral Home, Whitney Pier, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church Street) on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2016 from 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016 at 10 a.m. in Holy Redeemer Church with Fr. Paul Murphy officiating. Reception will be held at the Pier Community Funeral Home. Interment will take place in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks. Family flowers only, donations in memory of Kathleen may be made to the Cancer Care Patient Fund. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.
