Formerly of Randolph and Dorchester, May 2, John V. Sr. Husband of the late Cecilia (Penney) and Mary (King) Hartley. Loving father of Donald J.Hartley of Braintree, John V. Hartley Jr. of Holbrook, Doris M. Rivard of Braintree, Mary Lou Whelan of Pocasset, Kenneth F. Hartley of Cohasset, James A. Hartley of Bridgewater, Janet A. Tripp of Plymouth and the late Harold J. Hartley. Devoted brother of the late James, Edward, Thomas, Leo Hartley, Sally Hamlyn and Nell Foley. Also survived by 31 grandchildren and 39great grandchildren. Reposing at the Cartwright Funeral Home , 419 NO. Main St. (Rte 28) Randolph, until 9:15 AM on Tuesday followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Church Randolph. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Randolph. Should friends desire memorial contributions may be made in his name to Old Colony Hospice, 14 Page Terrace, Stoughton, MA. 02072. Mr. Hartley was 93 years old. He was born in Newfoundland, Canada. He came to the United States at age 17. He was a retired Iron Worker and Member of Iron Workers Local #7 from1937 to 1998. Member Randolph Ver Cruz K of C.
