, 65, of 26 Benoit St., New Waterford died 2 Jan 1974, in New Waterford Hospital. She was born in Mary's Town, Nfld. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Caramel Parish. She was the daughter of the late Mr & Mrs Phillip Brake (deceased). She is survive by her husband Robert Butts; sons Philip & Herman, town; daughters, Claudia (John) Marsden, Everett Mass; Anne (Charles) McGillivary Toronto; Alice (Stanley) Lozinsky, & Caramel (David) Rich, both of town; sisters Liz ( Nell) Farrell, Mrs John Pickman; Sister Claudia (Religious Order) Nfld and brothers Charles,  town;  Thomas,  Phillip & Robert, Nfld. The body is resting at VJ McGillivary Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at Mount Caramel Church 10 am 5 Jan 1974 with interment in Mount Caramel Cemetery.

DROVER, Thomas

- 55 MacLeod Street died Monday at City Hospital he was 81. Born in Island Cove Nfld., he was the son of the late John ands Annie (Gross) Drover. He was employed as a steelworker retiring in 1961. He was a momber of St Alban's Church and a Master of the Society of United Fisherman. His wife Alfreda predeceased him in 1972. He is survived by three sons Elias; William and Bertram all of Sydney and three daughters Mrs Evelyn Brown; Fanny Mae Mrs Archibald Harvey, Sydney and Eileen Mrs Frank Coombs Halifax. 28 Grandchildren and 26 Great grandchildren also. He was also survived by a brother George  Frampton, Ont, and a sister Mrs John Martin, Burin, Nfld. two brothers Ron and Ralph and a sister Mary predeceased him. The body rests at R H Fillmore Funeral Home and funeral service will be held at St Alban's Church Thursday at 11 am Interment at Forest Haven Memorial Cemetery.

HANNON, Michael T.

, 54, resident of Harbour Main Nfld died 4 Jan 1974, in Labrador. He was born in Harbour Main Nfld, the son of Andrew and Jane Hannon. He Served in Canadian Forces during WW II. He is survived by his wife Theresa (Gorman) and children: Mary, Muriel,  Patricia & Michael; and brother, Joseph, Sydney, NS. He was predeceased by  3 Brothers  & 2 Sisters. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.

, 70, Florence, died 17 Jan 1974, Harbourview Hospital, Sydney Mines. She was born in Nfld. She was a member of Wilson United, and The Ladies Auxillary Branch 83 Royal Canadian Legion. She was the daughter of the late Mr & Mrs Stephen (Sarah Jane Keeping) Robinson. She is survived by her husband Thomas B Howard and 6 daughters, Alice (Fred) Howley,Ontario; Jean Rose, North Sydney; Helen (Richard) Chambers, Ontario; Ruth at home; Eileen (John) Haley, Sydney Mines; Jane (Leonard) Marsh, Alder Point; and 4 sons, Thomas A., Florence; Sydney (first name), Chatham, NB: Gordon at home; Richard in Ontario; and 35 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; sisters,  Florence (Charles) Nicholas, Florence, NS; 6 half-sisters Eva (Russell) Facchine, Phoenix, Ariz;  Jean (Earl) Moore, Sarnia, Ont.; Frances (Dan) Devoe, Queenie (Charles) Reck , both of Toronto; Theresa (Leonard) Dolimont & Josephine (Jack) Smith both of North Sydney, and 2 brothers, Abe, Ont; and Fred, Baddeck. She was predeceased by 3 daughters & a son. The body is resting at - Fillmore & Whitman, Sydney Mines. The funeral service will be held at Wilson United Church at 2pm with interment  Sat 19 Jan 1974 at Brookside Cemetery.

MACDOUGALL, Annie

-70 - of 40 Forman Street, died Tuesday night at Saint Elizabeth Hospital North Sydney after an illness of some time. Born in Cape Ray Nfld., she resided in North Sydney for 22 yrs. Twice married she was predeceased 20 years ago by her first husband George Sheaves also a daughter and two sons. A member of Calvary Pentacostal Church, she is survived by her husband Murdock MacDougall, three daughters Mary (Mrs Leslie Chase) of Halifax, Roberta (Mrs ---?--- Roberts) of Orlando Fla, and June, (Mrs Robert Clarke) of North Sydney, four sons Isaac Sheaves of Vancover, Melvin Sheaves of Ontario, Clyde Sheaves of Halifax and John Sheaves of North Sydney. Three sisters Mrs James Sheaves (Agnes) Glochester Mass, Mrs Albert Wall (Sadie) of Humber Mouth Nfld, and Mrs James Bennett (Winnie) of Port Aux Basques, Nfld. and 35 Grandchildren. The body is resting at Fillmore & Whitman Funeral Home Green Street, Funeral will be held Friday Afternoon at 230pm at Calvary Pentecostal Church Peppett Street Interment will be at Lake side Cemetery.

MUGFORD, Frederick

, 59, of 14 McVicar Street, Glace Bay where he resided for the past 57yrs, died Sat 5 Jan 1974 in St Joseph's Hospital, Glace Bay. He was born in Nfld. He was  a member of  Warden United Church. He is survived by children - Sharon (Giorgio) Di Giorgio, Downsview, Ont; Barbara (Winston) Burke, New Warterford and their son Darryl Burke, Glace Bay; sisters, Sadie (Ralph)  Trenchard, GB;  June (Michael) Burne, Marion Bridge; Nellie ( Peter) MacLean, Guelph, Ont; Anna (George ) Mitchell, Oshawa; and brothers, James, Guelph, Ont; Norman Hespeler, Ont, Roy Glace Bay. Also 4 grandchildren. The body is resting at VJ McGillivary Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Tues 8 Jan 1974.

RYAN, Mrs. Maxwell

She was the daughter of  the late William and Flora Reader. She is survived by her husband, Maxwell Ryan and children, Robert, CFB Cornwallis; Donald and Wayne, Sydney; Barry, Comox, BC; Sharon (Terry) Donovan, Sydney and Shirley at home; sisters Muriel , Sydney, Myrtle, Nfld,  Gertrude & Irene, Ont. and one brother, Mont, Scotland; as well there are 4 grandchildren. The body is resting at Filmore Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at Trinity United Church today at 2pm with interment in Forest Haven Cemetery.

WALSH, Margaret

, 70, of Dingwall where she resided since 1950. Died Thursday 17 Jan 1974 at Alderwood Rest Home Baddeck. She was born in Lamelene, Nfld, the daughter of Andrew & Elizabeth (Hooper) Collins. She was a member of St Joseph's Church. She was survived by her husband Frederick, children - Andree, Dingwall; Rev. Lionel J, S.F.M. Dominican Republic; Sister Mary, Sisters of Mercy, St John's Nfld; Sister Margaret O.L.M. Republic of the Philipines and Denis, Mrs Gary Fox, Verdunne, Quebec; Charlotte, Mrs William G Fraser; Baddeck. She is also survived by three brothers and two sisters. Brothers are John Collins, Edmonton, Alberta; Maxwell, Lamalene, NF; Michael, Mary's Town, Nf. Sisters are Mary, Mrs Leo Hunt, Montreal, Mrs Lottie Hearn, Montreal .The body will rest at the family residence in Dingwall today, Monday. The funeral will be Wednesday in time for requiem mass at 11:00 AM in St. Joseph's Church Dingwall.
