ANTLE, Jean
(September 1, 1946 - September 5, 2015)
Passed peacefully away at the her residence, Mortier after a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, September 5, 2015 Jean Antle of Mortier aged 69 years. Leaving to mourn with precious memories husband Pius; son Carl of Salt Pond; daughters Geraldine (Brian Smith) Kingston, N.S, Beverly (Clayton Marcinowski) Clyde Alberta; grandchildren Dyan, Shelby, Mckenzie and Jessica; sisters Alma Akerman, Rita Blagdon; brothers Jim Francis (Isabelle), Gordon Francis (Mabel) Plus a large circle of other family and friends. Predeceased by parents Ted & Alice Francis; sisters Jessie, Judy, Mary, Mildred, Beverly; brothers Jack Francis. BLAKE, RETA MARION
Passed peacefully away on September 9, 2015, Reta Marion Blake at the Health Science Center, St. John's, formerly of Grand Bank. She was 89 years of age. Mrs. Blake retired from teaching and was a member of the S.A. Home League in Botwood. She is predeceased by her husband James George Blake; brother Caleb Greene; grandson Don Seabright; parents Fredrick and Francis Greene; stepmom Nellie Greene. She leaves to mourn her step son Cyril (Maureen) Blake; Cathy (Lee) Ellsworth, step daughter Clara (Wilbert) Seabright; sisters Susie Grandy, Edith Winsor, Margaret Boland, Ethel Cuff; brothers George Greene; five grandchildren Glenda Bishop (Brian), Peter Blake (Claire), Jennifer Leining (Chris), Kendra Clements (Steven), Jenna Ellsworth; eight great-grandchildren Robynn Collins (Jeff), Brianne and Brittany Bishop, Riley and Ben Blake, Brooke, Sophie, Pyper Leining; one great great grandchild Bronwyn Collins and a circle of other relatives and friends. It is with heavy hearts that the family of Stella May Follett announces her passing on September 4th, 2015 at the Grand Bank Health Care Center. She was mom to Gertrude (Cecil) Allem, Beulah (John) Moulton, Clyde (Patricia) Follett, Ernest (Barbara) Follett, Carlson (Linda) Follett, Patrica (David) Hickman and Eleanor (Jack Whalen). Grandmother to Kenneth Allen (Amy Preston), Julie (Bill) Low, Stephen (Sherri) Follett, Scott Follett (Holly Brady), Jaclyn Moulton (Jonathan Andrews), Janene Hickman, Bryan Hickman (Jennifer Gillis) and Jodi Moulton (Pierre Clarot) she was a wonderful Nan. Great grandmother to Matthew/Tyler Follett, Rachel/Natalie Low, Bailey/Logan Hickman, Kinleigh Follett and Leah Allen. Stella will also be sadly missed by her brothers Roy Grandy (Bessie), Leonard (Addi) Grandy, and Lloyd (Marion) Grandy, and her sister Joan (Max) Snook as well, she leaves to mourn a large circle of in-laws, nieces, nephews and many friends. Predeceased by her parents, Clyde and Esther (Keeping) Grandy, her beloved husband Stanley A. KIRBY, THOMAS F.
1948-2015
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas F. Kirby of Lord's Cove at the U.S. Memorial Health Care Centre in St. Lawrence, on Thursday, September 17, at the age of 67. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife of 47 years, Anne (Hodge) Kirby; two sons, Sandy (Marsha) and Dale (Leigh); three precious grandchildren: Alena, Liam and Kieran. Six sisters: Bride (Don) Locke, Elizabeth Kirby, Dorothy Phelan, Patricia (Art) Mauger, Mary (Bob) Isaacs, Regina (Carl) Simms. Four brothers: Richard (Bertha), Raymond (Jackie), Frank (Stella), Clem (Luanne); One brother-in-law, John (Vi) Hodge; Five sisters-in-law: Lucy Edwards, Winnifred Pace, Veronica Tarrant, Priscilla (Otto) Tarrant, Cecilia (Stu) Sheppard and a very good friend, Junior (Thomas) Haley; plus a large circle of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Richard and Mary Ann (Lambe) Kirby; brothers-in-Law: Maurice and Prosper Hodge, Robert Field, Bill Phelan, Rick Kirby, Joseph Edwards, Leo Pace and Patrick Tarrant.
Tom was a very special person who loved life and lived it to the fullest. He was devoted to his farm work with his animals, especially his sheep, and he took great pride in his organic vegetable gardens. Every fall at harvest time he willingly shared the fruits of his labours with his relatives, friends and those in need. An avid reader, he had a keen interest in genealogy and local history and loved to gather with family and friends for a chat or a sing-a-long. He lived a simple life style and was very content with his lot.
Visitation will take place from St. Elizabeth's Roman Catholic Church in Lord's Cove, on Monday, September 21, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.; from where the Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 3:00 p.m. In Thomas' memory donations may be made to St. Elizabeth's Cemetery Fund in Lord's Cove. Leaving to mourn her loving daughter, Joyce, Bay L'Argent, daughter in law Joyce Pardy, Marystown, grandson Wayne (Christy), Salmon Cove, granddaughter Tracy Hynes (Kevin), Jacques Fountaine; 2 greatgrandchildren, Benjamin Lawrence and Keegan Hynes; sister Charlotte Kendall, Milltown, Bay d'Espoir, and a large circle of relatives and friends. Special thanks to her home care workers, Brenda Baker, Ruth Walters, Adele Legge, and Mary Banfield. It is with great sadness that the family of the late EDWARD SYNARD of Parker's Cove announces his passing at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre in Burin, on Thursday, September 17, 2015, at the age of 61. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are son, Francis (Megan Fifield) of St. John's; daughter, Cynthia Synard (fiancée, Chris Aspell) of Mount Pearl; their mother, Bernadette Synard of Brigus South; close friend, Albert (Helen) Gaulton of Parker's Cove; sisters, Liz Pawson (Al) of Calgary, AB, Donna Rogers (Chris) of Paradise, Ange Moreau (Ronald) of Ontario and Marji Brown of South Carolina; brothers, Alonzo (Lucy) Synard of Parker's Cove, Norman Synard of Parker's Cove, William Synard of Parker's Cove, Gordon (Ellen) Synard of Ontario, Jerry (Erlie) Synard of Ontario, Chuck (Mary) Synard of Ontario and Clayton (Sejal) Synard of Pennsylvania; plus a large circle of relatives and friends. WARREN, LAWRENCE G.
October 24, 1943 to September 22, 2015
We regret to announce the passing of Lawrence G. Warren, Assistant Commissioner, Royal Canadian Mounted Police, retired, on September 22, 2015. Larry had a distinguished and varied career, spanning forty years. He retired from R.C.M.P. in 2003. He was particularly proud to finish his career in St. John's, NL where he served as Commanding Officer of "B" Division for eight years. Many will remember Larry "Bucky" Warren as a skilled young soccer player, both in Burin and while attending St. Pat's in St. John's. He was very happy to have learned that he had been inducted into the Burin Peninsula and the Newfoundland and Labrador Soccer Halls of Fame. Larry continued his love of soccer throughout his adult life and played on teams in Saskatchewan, Nova Scotia and St. John's. Larry will be deeply missed by many. He was left to mourn his wife Laurette, daughter Jennifer Spurrell (Rod), granddaughter McKenna, twin grandsons Cale and Connor, son Norman (Lesley), granddaughter Lucy, and grandson Elliot, brothers Ray (Dorothy), Jim (Almena), sisters Evelyn Grondin-Bailey , Shirley Donovan (Paul), Norma Smith (Dick), Kathy Dunderdale, Linsey Wiscombe (Glenn), Peggy Warren (Berrick), Christine Riley (Tom), Penny Tangney (Al), sisters-in-law Mary Frances Day (Alvin), Elizabeth Legacy as well as nieces and nephews and a large circle of friends. Predeceased by parents Alice and Norman Warren, sister Marie, brothers-in-law Peter Grondin, Peter Dunderdale, Lou Bailey, William Young and Ron Legacy, mother-in-law and father-in-law Charlotte and Bill Young. A memorial service will be held at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church in Burin on Saturday October 3, 2015 at 11:00 AM to be followed by a lunch downstairs at the social centre.

WELSH, EVA LENORA
(August 31, 1925 - September 8, 2015)
Passed peacefully away at Burin Peninsula Health Care Center, after a courageous battle with Cancer, Eva Lenora Welsh of Grand Bank, age 90 Years. Predeceased by her husband; Frank Welsh, parents; Clara and William Fox, brothers; Max, Larry, Bill, and Les Fox, daughters In Law; Shirley, and Josephine. Leaving to mourn her sons; Elmer, Bill, Barry and Marvin (Jennifer), Grandchildren; Roy, Billy, Jimmy, Justin and Katie, Great Grand Children; Denver and Memphis. Eva also leaves to mourn a large circle of other family and friends who were very dear to her in her home community of Grand Bank. At Eva's request cremation will take place. Visitation will take place at Warren's Funeral Home on Friday September 11,2015 from 10:00 am-12:00 pm, 2:00 pm-4:00 pm, and 7:00 pm-9:00 pm. Funeral Service will take place on Saturday September 12, 2015 at 2:00 pm from the Grand Bank United Church. Inurnment will follow at the Grand Bank United Church Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in Eva's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, or Grand Bank United Church. Special thanks to the Nurses and staff at both the Burin Hospital and the Health Science Center for the kindness and care Eva received during her stay in the hospital. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Warren's Funeral Home Grand Bank.
