The area includes from Terrenceville on down to Grand Bank, over to Lamaline, St. Lawrence, Burin, Marystown and down the Peninsula again to Boat Harbour. All the communities are not named but serves the whole of the Peninsula.

1952-2012

It is with great sadness that the family of the late WAYNE S. APPLEBY of Marystown, NL announces his passing in Kelligrews, NL on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at the age of 60. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are wife Jessie of 40 years; sons Tommy (Rhonda Gaudon) of Marystown, and Rod (Jackie Drake) of Kelligrews; daughter Holly (Stephen Power) of Marystown; brother Denzil (Cindy) of Kelligrews; 4 grandchildren Chanasie, Dante, Courtney, and Nataya; plus a large circle of family and friends. AVERY, Clarence Gilbert
(October 7, 1937 - September 14, 2012)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Clarence Gilbert Avery on September 14, 2012, age 74 years. Today he has been reunited with the love of his life, Rebecca "Beckie", who passed away just three short months ago. He was also predeceased by his parents, Chesley & Clara Avery, in laws; George & Elizabeth Butt, sister Millie Avery and brother in law Frank Beck. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of memories his only daughter Leslie Ann Rowsell, son in law Dwayne, and the joy of his life, his only grandson Andrew. Also mourning his loss are, sister Marilyn Randell (Ron) of St. John's, brother Eric Avery (Sonia) of Mount Pearl, sister in law Mary Beck of Springdale, NL; sister in law Jane Howell (Lester) of Grand Prairie AB; brother in law Harry Butt (Vera) of Grand Bank; sister in law Georgie Noseworthy (Cephas) of Toronto, sister in law Esther Butt of Grand Bank, brother in law Fred Butt of Grand Bank; brother in law Norman Butt (Miriam) of Canso NS; special friends Larry & Jeanette Osmond and Doctor S. Beckley of Grand Bank. Clarence also leaves a large number of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and other family & friends to remember his life. An Avid volunteer who put others first in his life, he will be missed by the many people and organizations he helped over his lifetime. Remains resting at Warren's Funeral Home on Friday, September 14th from 7 pm - 9 pm; and on Saturday from 2 pm - 4 pm; 7 pm - 9 pm. Funeral Service will take place from the Salvation Army, Grand Bank, at 2:30 pm on Sunday, September 16th. Cremation to follow. BAIN, Clayton
(July 15, 1929-September 16, 2012)

It is with great sadness the family of Clayton Bain of Burin, age 83, announces his passing at Burin Peninsula Health Care Center. Leaving to mourn wife Ann; daughter in law Debra and family; niece Anne Muise; step daughter Cathy Harding and family; step son Billy Harding and family plus a large circle of other family and friends. Predeceased by son Harry; brothers Harry and Charles; sister Flora and first wife Rita. Cremation has taken place. Memorial Service to take place from Serenity Chapel, Burin at 11 AM Friday, September 21. No flowers by request. Donations in his memory may be made to Zion United Church Cemetery Fund.

HARNETT, Gordon Joseph
(February 22, 1948 - September 16, 2012)

Passed peacefully away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre on Sunday, September 16, 2012, Gordon Joseph Harnett of Lamaline, NL, age 64 yrs. Predeceased by parents Gordon & Mary Harnett; brothers William & Raymond; father in law Myril King; Leaving to mourn: wife Barb, daughters Kim (Bill); Karen(Danny); grandchildren, Andrew, Ashley, Danielle & Dylan; sister Laura; brothers Jim, Marcel, Randy, Brendan, Kevin and their families, Mother in law Margaret King. Also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Cremation will take place and visitation will take place at St. Elizabeth's Church, Lord's Cove at a date and time to be announced. (September 3, 1933 - September 19, 2012)

Passed peacefully away at her residence on Wednesday September 19, 2012, Mary Ann Lockyer of Lamaline NL, age 79 years. Predeceased by husband Peter James Lockyer, and son Maurice. Leaving to mourn: son Peter (Molly) at Point Au Gaul, son Cyril (Phyllis) at Point Au Gaul, daughter Brenadette (Morgan) at Lamaline, daughter Regina (Allan) at Saint John, New Brunswick, Marie (Wayne) at Lamaline, daughter Loriann (Paul) at Lamaline, Nicole (Jeff) at Milton, Ontario. 18 Grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. Sister Mable in St. Lawrence, brother Leonard in Marystown. Also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Remains resting at her daughter's home (Marie Collins) in Lamaline on Wednesday evening, all day Thursday and Friday. Family service at 7:30 pm on Thursday. Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday at 11 am from St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Allan's Island. Interment to follow at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Allan's Island. TURPIN, SCOTT ROBERT
1979-2012

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Scott Robert Turpin formerly of Burin, NL, at the Lloydminister Hospital in Lloydminister, Saskatchewan, on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at the age of 33. Precious son of Elaine and beloved brother of Lisa Marie. Scott leaves behind special family friend Dana Legge; as well as a number of aunts, uncles and cousins; plus a large circle of family and friends in Alberta and Newfoundland. Predeceased by father Robert (Bob) Turpin and his maternal and paternal grandparents. Scott was very successful in his chosen career; a hard worker who was well respected by his peers; a fun loving, generous young man who enjoyed life. All of us who knew him will cherish our own personal memories. WILLIAMS, Capt. Gerald
Passed on: September 19th, 2012, 85, North Sydney. It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our father Gerald Williams, on his 85th birthday, Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at his home. Born in Grand Bank, Newfoundland, Dad was the son of the late Clarence and Selena (Keating) Williams. "Ged" chose to pursue a life at sea, following in the footsteps of his father, a famed sailing Master. Dad was Captain aboard the Marine Atlantic vessels until retiring in 1990 as Senior Master of the MV Caribou. His leisure time was usually spent in the out-of-doors, hunting and fishing were his passions. He was a member of the Royal Albert Masonic Lodge and member of Philae Shriners. Gerald is survived by his two daughters: Yvonne Williams (Thomas Fleming), Sydney, Yvette Williams, Toronto; three sons: Doug (Jennifer) Williams, North Sydney, David (Deborah) Williams, Leitches Creek and James (Noel) Williams, Niagara Falls; his seven grandchildren: Jennifer, Dawn, Michael, Samantha, Amanda, Stephen and Sarah; brothers: Gordon (Bertha) Williams, St. John's Nfld and Carl (Kathy) Williams, Saint John, NB and sister Mary (Lloyd) Moores, Sackville, NB. Besides his parents, Gerald was predeceased by his wife Frances Lily (Gale) Williams. Visitation for Gerald will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday at St. Matthew Wesley United Church, North Sydney with Rev. David Luker officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeside Cemetery, North Sydney. Passed peacefully away at the U.S. Memorial Health Care Centre, St. Lawrence, on Tuesday, Sept.11, 2012, MARTHA WISCOMBE (KING), of Creston, NL, in her 86th year. Leaving to mourn her loving sons Steve King (Anne), Alberta, Bruce King (Denise), St. Johns, Terry King (Michelle), daughter Christine King, Creston South, step-daughter Beatrice Bungay (Sam), Creston South, daughter in law Effie King, Creston North, grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and a large circle of relatives and friends. She is predeceased by her husbands Lester C. King and Maxwell Wiscombe, and sons Samuel, Ambrose, and Raymond. Resting at Peninsula Funeral Home at a time and date to be announced.
