BROCKERVILLE, KELLY G.
It is with broken hearts that the family of the late KELLY G. BROCKERVILLE of Burin formerly of Lawn announces his passing. Kelly passed away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre in Burin on Saturday, October 31, 2020. Our unsung hero, Kelly Gregory Brockerville, 52, began his new journey on October 31, 2020. In life, Kelly was a caring, giving, generous man who joined the military at a young age. While serving his country, he took 3 tours overseas. He followed in the footsteps of his father before him, Emanuel Brockerville, who was in WWII. Proudly in 2012, he walked from St. John's to his mother's gravesite in Lawn, 347 kilometers to raise money for the fight against polycystic kidney disease which took his mother's life in 1985 at the age of 53. His "March for Mom" raised over $10,000 dollars for the kidney foundation. While still serving, our brave soldier saved the life of his brother Tom in 1998 whereby one of his kidneys was transplanted into Tom.
Kelly was a genuine old soul who loved his family and friends fiercely and was very loyal to them. He would gladly give or share anything he had. Kelly loved animals, his dog Two aka Bobo could be seen alongside him while Kelly was fishing by the wharf wearing a life jacket or walking beside him where ever he went or drove. Kelly had a great big hug that held you if you needed to cry or greeted you when he seen you or when you left his presence. He had a heart full of love for everyone and anyone he knew. He was a good listener and helped you if you needed an opinion. Kelly brightened the room when he walked in because he was sure to smile and give you a hug or when you see those big blue eyes they were smiling while at the same time he would be cracking a joke or making a face so he could make you laugh. He was a prankster who loved a joke or a story. Kelly loved playing his guitar, singing and music. He was very intelligent and could give an opinion about anything. He was an amateur photographer who took beautiful pictures as well was a photographer for the military overseas. Boy, did he ever love classic cars and every single thing about them he could riddle it off. Living in Burin by the water he was at peace with his dog Two aka Bobo, where he was free to throw a line to fish, sip a beer and relax.
Godspeed Kelly
Love you, love you very much,
Yaba daba dooo
Bye for now
