Burin Peninsula Obituaries

The area includes from Terrenceville on down to Grand Bank, over to Lamaline, St. Lawrence, Burin, Marystown and down the Peninsula again to Boat Harbour. All the communities are not named but serves the whole of the Peninsula.

 

DIAMOND, Mabel Frances
(September 29, 1921 - October 8, 2009)

Passed peacefully away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre on Thursday, October 8, 2009, Mabel F. Diamond of Grand Bank, age 88 years. Predeceased by parents George and Margaret White, husband Benjamin and brother George James White. Leaving to mourn: 2 daughters Patsy Pittman (Ian) and Eleanor Thornhill (Arch) both of Grand Bank, 3 grandchildren Patty Thornhill of Bishop Falls, Lori McCarthy (Johnathan) of Burin and Sheldon of Grand Bank, Great Grandchild Logan McCarthy, brother Cyril White (Flossie) of Toronto, 2 sisters-in-law Ethel White of Glenwood and Eleanor Hall of Toronto, also Home Care Workers Kerry Lynn Hollett and Myrtle Hillier. Also a circle of other relatives and friends. Remains resting at Warren's Funeral Home Grand Bank on Friday and Saturday from 10 am - 12 noon; 2 pm - 5 pm; 7 pm - 9 pm. Funeral Service will take place at the Grand Bank United Church at 2 pm on Sunday, October 11th. Interment to follow at the United Church Cemetery, Grand Bank. No flowers by request. Donations in her memory may be made to the Grand Bank United Church Cemetery Fund. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Warren's Funeral Home Grand Bank.

DOUGLAS, Frances Mary
(August 26, 1924 - October 2, 2009)

Passed suddenly but peacefully away at the Grand Bank Health Center on Friday, October 2, 2009 Frances Mary Douglas of Grand Bank, age 85 years. Predeceased by parents Richard and Jane Riggs; husband Llewellyn Douglas, and Friend Charles Breon. Leaving to mourn son Gary (Sharon) Douglas, daughter Mary (Lloyd) Grandy, 5 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren; sisters Jessie (George) Hillier, Georgie (Ben) Lee, Mary (Carl) Cooper, and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Remains resting at Warren's Funeral Home Grand Bank on Friday from 7pm - 9pm, Saturday and Sunday from 10 am - 12 noon; 2 pm - 5 pm; 7 pm - 9 pm. Funeral Service will take place on Monday at 2 pm from the Salvation Army Grand Bank. Interment to follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Grand Bank.
