The area includes from Terrenceville on down to Grand Bank, over to Lamaline, St. Lawrence, Burin, Marystown and down the Peninsula again to Boat Harbour. All the communities are not named but serves the whole of the Peninsula.

 

ANTLE, Celestine
It is with great sadness that the family of Celestine Antle of Mortier announces his sudden passing at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Center on November 23, 2019 at the age of 71 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories wife Barbara; children Lori (Corey Cluett ) of Mortier, Colin of Mortier and Gerald Christopher (Erin Rowsell) of Marystown; grandchildren Kaleb and Anna; siblings Pius, Bill, Joseph (Marion), Sadie Penney, Adrian (Lexie), Joan Ducey (Timothy), Charles (Kay), Ada Costello (Jim), Martin, Leon and Dorothy Ducey (Howard) and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Predeceased by parents Joseph and Adelaide Antle; parents-in-law Altheda and Wilbert Francis; brother Gerald Antle; sister Marie Antle; brothers-in-law Wallace Penney, Ernest Antle, Gordon Brushett and Herbert Mayo and sisters-in-law Jean and Jessie Antle. Family will be accepting visitors from Serenity Funeral Home, Burin on Sunday, Nov. 24th from 6-9PM and Monday from 10AM to 9PM. BRINTON, William Patrick
It is with broken hearts that the family of the late WILLIAM PATRICK BRINTON of Marystown announces his passing. William passed away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Center in Burin on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at the age of 70. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are his wife Alice of 48 years; son, Michael (Suzanne) of Grand Prairie; daughter, Michelle Engram (Jamie) of Grand Bank; 7 grandchildren, DJ Engram (Rayanne), Daniel Engram, David Engram (Kaitlin), Alison Brinton, Cameron Pardy, Kayden Brinton, and Makena Brinton; 4 great-grandchildren, Scarlett, Zoe, Natayla, and Lilly; Homecare Worker, Cecelia Pardy; plus a large circle of extended family and friends. William was predeceased by his parents, Mary Francis and James Brinton and his brother, Charles Brinton. As per William's wishes cremation will take place. BRUSHETT, Calvin C.
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend, Calvin C. Brushett, aged 53 years. Predeceased by his parents, Bill and Marie Brushett, Burin, and his parents-in-law, Darrell and Shirley Ryan, Clarenville/Waterville. Leaving to mourn his death and celebrate his life is his wife of 30 years, Kim; children: Andrew (Megan), Michael (Danielle), and Amy (Chris); his beloved grandson and little buddy, Oliver; sisters: Julie (Kevin), Lynn, Fern (Bob), and brother Bill (Deborah); sisters-in- law, Wanda, Cathy (Paul), and Sue (Bob) and brother-in-law Jeff; 16 nieces and nephews and a large circle of great friends and colleagues. Calvin loved the Newfoundland outdoors and traditional Irish Newfoundland music. He loved being in the country all seasons of the year. His cabin on Lady Cove Pond was his sanctuary. Cremation has taken place. It is with broken hearts that the family of the late CARL P. CROWLEY of Terrenceville announces his passing. Carl passed away at his home in Terrenceville on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at the age of 51. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are his mother, Catherine Crowley of Terrenceville; sons, Matthew Park of Clarenville and Keegan Park of Clarenville; sister, Lisa Crowley (Wayne Murphy) of Parkers Cove; brother, Richard Aleksandrowicz of St. John's; niece, Kaylie Murphy; nephew, Jamie Murphy; aunts, Jane Baker & family of Harbour Mille, and Cavelle Elton & family of Clarenville; plus a large circle of extended family and friends. is with great sadness that the family of George Edwards of Lawn announces his passing at his residence on November 20, 2019 at the age of 68 years. Passed peacefully away, after a courageous battle, on Thursday, November 21, 2019, at Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre, Burin, NL, GLADYS BERNADINE FAREWELL, of Creston South, in her 67th year. Leaving to mourn her loving husband Ivan, daughters Trena Farewell (Rodney), Sackville, NS, Trudy Farewell (Gilbert), Creston North, and Sherry Farewell (Rene), Spruce Grove, AB., 4 grandchildren, Devon, Ella, Peter and Courtney; Siblings Theresa, Leslie, Kevin, Leona, Carmelita, Clyde, Joan and Melvin; special friend Fronie; and a large circle of extended family and friends. It is with broken hearts that the family of the late EDNA GRACE FITZPATRICK of Marystown announces her passing. Mrs. Fitzpatrick passed peacefully away at St. Patrick's Mercy Home in St. John's on Monday, November 11, 2019 at the age of 99. It is with broken hearts that the family of the late PAUL J. HAYSE of Parkers Cove announces his peaceful passing after a courageous battle with cancer. Paul passed away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre, on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at the age of 49. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are his daughter, Paula Hayse (Damian Byrne); son, Cameron Hayse; mother, Jane Hayse; sisters, Maxine (Jim) Rebecca & Joey, and Vicki, Abigail & Emily; brother, Jody Hayse (Ida) Brandon, Trenton and Cameron; niece, Brianna; plus a large circle of extended family and friends and his co-workers at Dept. of Transportation and Works. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are her daughter, Marie (Norman McCarthy) of St. Bernard's; 3 grandchildren, Dana Myles (Jeremy) of Paradise, Robbie McCarthy (Natalie Saint) of St. Bernard's, and Brittany McCarthy of St. Bernard's; 4 great-grandchildren, Skylar, Cameron, Hilary, and Xander; plus a large circle of relatives and friends. HODDER, WILLIAM "BILLY"

Who was he? Why was he special? He was Billy, a loving, thoughtful Husband, father and brother. Billy, who worked hard, provided well, smiled often, didn't complain or judge and accepted his illness with dignity and perseverance. He will be ever loved and remembered by his family and eight siblings. Billy passed away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Center in Burin on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at the age of 72. Passed peacefully away on Sunday, November 3, 2019, at St. Patrick's Mercy Home with his loving family by his side, Ben Lake, age 90 years. Leaving to mourn his wife and best friend of 64 years, Maude Lake (Williams); his daughters: Elizabeth Squires (Bill), Jean Thompson (Paul), Joan Winsor (Bruce), and Lisa Lake (Greg Brown); his grandchildren whom he adored: Heather Squires (John Siwiec), Amanda Khurana (Harman), Jessica Fitzpatrick (Devon), Morgan Brown and Kenny Brown; his great-grandchildren who were the light of his life: Lila & Ronan Khurana, Emmie & Patrick Siwiec, and Scarlet and Kellen Fitzpatrick. MAYO, Calvin Murdock
(1931-2019)

Passed peacefully away and sur-rounded by love on November 18, 2019. Calvin was born in Burin, N.L. He completed high school in 1948 and moved to Halifax, where he worked at MT&T while attending the Maritime Business College. In 1951, he enrolled at Memorial University of Newfoundland and became a member of the Royal Canadian Navy Reserves Naval Training Division. In May 1959, Calvin earned his LLB Degree from Dalhousie University and in 1962 he was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Newfoundland. Calvin was a gentle, kind man who embraced life to the fullest. Among other activities, he treasured swimming, cycling, music and the arts, debating politics, and socializing with his friends and family. He was a constant advocate for his home province of Newfoundland and believed education was a key to the future, always encouraging this pursuit in others. Calvin grew up as the eighth son, in a family of 12 children. He was predeceased by his parents, Alfred and Elizabeth; and his brothers, Roland, Samual, Gerald, Lohnes, Alfred, Lester and Fletcher. Calvin is lovingly remembered by his beloved sisters, Vermuda and Shirley (Eric); his brothers, Alfred (Jean) and Russel (Elizabeth); as well as, four generations of nieces and nephews and a large circle of friends. The family would like to give special thanks to Calvin's dearest friend, Heather, who has always been by his side and has provided unwavering support to the family, and especially to Christine. Thanks to Dr. Mountain and Dr. Glenny and to all staff at Arborstone Nursing Home, especially Liz, Melony, Ruth and Cathy. Finally, thank you to all of our friends and family who have helped us care for Calvin. A celebration of Calvin's life will take place 11 a.m., on Tuesday, November 26th, in St. Matthews United Church, 1479 Barrington St., Halifax. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Souls Harbour Rescue Mission or St. Matthews Outreach Program.

MOULTON, Susanna (nee Brushett)
It is with great sadness that the family of Susanna (nee Brushett) Moulton of Burin announces her peaceful passing at the age of 86 years at Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre on Saturday, November 30, 2019. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories two daughters Vivian (Shane), Jackie (Ray) and one son Aubrey (Michelle), four loving grand kids Heather, Haley (Tyrell), Ashley (Noah), Jack, great grand kids Nick & Sadie, special niece Alice and good friend Marg plus a large circle of other family and close friends. Predeceased by husband Jack, brother Mike Brushett, sisters Gertrude Power & Laura May Molloy. In Keeping with Susanna's wishes cremation has taken place. Funeral service to take place from Serenity Chapel, Burin, NL on Thursday at 11AM with inurnment to follow at Zion United Cemetery, Collins Cove. It is with great sadness that the family of the late VERA STACEY of Point May announces her passing at her home in Point May on Wednesday, November 20, 2019. It is with broken hearts that the family of the late ELIZABETH THORNE of Fortune announces her passing. Elizabeth passed away at the Health Science Centre in St. John's on November 26, 2019 at the age of 74. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are her sons, Calvin Thorne (Marlene) of Fortune, Bruce Thorne (Pamela) of Fortune, and William Thorne (Holly) of St. John's; daughters, Isabella Isaacs (James) of Grand Bank, Janet Herridge (Doug) of Grand Bank, Kelly Thorne (Paul Monster) of Fortune, Cindy Hillier (Ambrose) of Fortune, Vicki Felix (Bill) of Grande Prairie, and Heather Hillier (Ryan) of Fortune; 18 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jack Myles (Doris), Sam Myles (Lillian), and Allan Myles (Donna); sisters, Joyce Crant, Loretta Young (Hayward), and Robena Skinner (John); plus a large circle of extended family and friends. Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband, William Bert Thorne; her daughter, Janet Nina Thorne; grandson, Jimmy Isaacs; brother, Frank Myles; and her parents, John and Nina Myles. Passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family on Friday, November 15, 2019 at Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre, Burin, ELSIE MAE WISCOMBE, of Creston South in her 76th year. Leaving to mourn with many cherished memories are her husband Frank; children Beverley Anstey (Terry), Creston South, Wayne (Joanne), Creston South, Larry (Kathy), Creston, and Shawn (Cavell), Calgary, AB: Grandchildren Michael Anstey (Chantille), Chantel Wiscombe, Chad Anstey, Jarod Wiscombe, Caitlyn Wiscombe, Emma Jane Wiscombe, Tyler Wiscombe and Casey Wiscombe, Great grandchildren Reagan and Brody; special friends Mondella Hooper and Margaret Hillier, and a large circle of other family and friends.
