The area includes from Terrenceville on down to Grand Bank, over to Lamaline, St. Lawrence, Burin, Marystown
and down the Peninsula again to Boat Harbour. All the communities are not named but serves the whole of the Peninsula.

 

BARNES, Lloyd John
(February 18, 1948 - November 30, 2013)

Passed away at Health Science Centre, St. John's on Saturday, November 30, 2013, Lloyd John Barnes of Fortune, age 65 years. Predeceased by father Raymond Barnes, mother Myrtle Barnes; granddaughter Samantha Matthews. Leaving to mourn wife Gladys Barnes, daughters Sherry (Greg) Cooper, Michelle (Robert) Matthews, Michelle George, 2 grandchildren, Robert and Morgan Matthews, sisters Shirley (Gord) Matthews, Viola (Lloyd) Piercey, Joyce (Gerald), Denise (Edgar) Piercey. Also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Remains resting at All Saint's Anglican Church, Fortune for all day Sunday, December 1st. Funeral Service will take place on Monday, December 2nd at 2 pm from All Saint's Church, Fortune. Donations in Lloyd's Memory may be made to the Family towards Funeral Expenses. COADY, ALLAN JOSEPH
(1957-2013)
Passed peacefully away, surrounded by his loving family, at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre on November 24, 2013, Allan Joseph Coady at the age of 56 years. Predeceased by his parents John Patrick and Christina Coady, brother John Patrick Coady (Jr.), sister-in-law Sheila Coady and brother-in-law William Mayo. Leaving to celebrate his life with fond memories are sister Bernadette (Dennis) Dwyer; nephews John, Jeffrey and Jerry Dwyer; niece Judith (Dwyer) Hurley and their families. Five other sisters Patricia (Roland) Riggs, Joan Mayo, Evelyn (Gerry) Brown, Lorraine (Gary) Taylor and Mary Ann (Ronald) Broderick, brothers Gordon Coady and Wallace (Ann) Coady; sister-in-law Betty Coady. Left also with cherished memories are a number of nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly, as well as a large circle of relatives, friends and coworkers. Allan's faith, generosity, determination and courage were an inspiration to everyone around him. Resting and visitation will take place from Wiseman's Funeral Home in Marystown, on Monday, November 25, from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday, November 26, from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place from Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Marystown, on Wednesday, November 27, at 11:00 a.m. officiated by the Reverend Father Cecil Critch. It is with great sadness the family of Olive Marie Fancey of Burin announces her passing at the Health Science Complex, St. John's, November 1, 2013 at the age of 68 years. Leaving to mourn husband Edgar; mother Jessie Kelloway; sons Junior (Elaine) of Creston South, Trent of Burin and Jason (Lisa) of St. John's; grandchildren Jake, Claire, Olivia, Ben and Noah; sisters Rowena Kelloway (Tony), Brenda Spurrell (Randy) and Donna Attwood (Kevin) plus a large circle of other family and friends. Predeceased by father Frank Kelloway. Resting at Serenity Funeral Home, Burin, Saturday, November 2 from 7-9 pm and Sunday, November 3 from 10 am to 9 pm. GRANT, James
(October 23, 1926 - November 13, 2013)

It is with great sadness the family of James Grant of Lewin's Cove formerly of Corbin announces his passing at Burin Peninsula Health Care Center on November 13, 2013, at the age of 87 years. Leaving to mourn wife Rita; sons Bill (Ellen) of Lewin's Cove and John (Laurie-ann) of Brooks, AB; daughters Kathy Dwyer (Paul) of Kelligrews, Dolores Molloy(Jerome) of Marystown, Sharon Kelly (Matthew) of Beaus Bois and Clara Moulton (Brian) of Calgary; 12 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sisters Ann Grant, Mary Stapleton, Violet Clarke, Kathleen Neville, Bride Rose and Theresa Fagan and sister-in-law Marie Grant plus a large circle of other family and friends. Predeceased by parents Bernard and Elizabeth, brother Bob and sisters Nellie, Laura and Meline. Resting at Serenity Funeral Home, Burin Thursday, November 14th from 7 to 9 pm and Friday from 10 am to 9 pm. Funeral Mass to take place from St. Patrick's RC Church on Saturday, November 16th at 10 am with interment following at RC Cemetery, Salt Pond. HILLIER, Caroline H.
(April 7, 1939 - November 19, 2013)

Passed peacefully away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre on Tuesday, November 19, 2013, Caroline H. Miller of Creston South, formerly of Grand Bank, age 74 years. Predeceased by husband William, parents Beatrice and William, sister Annie. Leaving to mourn: sisters Mary at Point Leamington, Mariah (William) of Kansas City MO., Dinah of St. John's, John Ben (Elaine) of Grand Bank, Douglas (Glenda) of Paradise. Also a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Remains resting at Warren's Funeral Home on Wednesday and Thursday from 2 pm - 4 pm; 7 pm - 9 pm. Passed away at Carbonear General Hospital on Saturday, November 23, 2013, A. Roland Hiscock, formerly of Grand Bank, age 51 years. Predeceased by father Eli Hiscock. Passed peacefully away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre, Burin, NL, on Sunday, November 3, 2013, THOMAS AMBROSE HODDER, of Creston North, NL, in his 86th year. Leaving to mourn his loving wife, Sarah, daughter Lillian Andrews (Ed), Creston North; granddaughters, Heather Newbury (Scott), Orangeville, ON, and Sarah Andrews, Creston North, great granddaughters Emma and Kate Newbury; brother Herbert (Rita), Lewisporte; and a large circle of relatives and friends. Tom is predeceased by his parents Thomas and Hannah Hodder, infant daughter Janet Ruth, 6 brothers and 1 sister. Resting at Peninsula Funeral Home, Creston South, on Monday, Nov. 4, (7:30 pm - 9 pm), Tuesday Nov. 05, (2 pm - 9 pm), and Wednesday, Nov. 06, (10 am - noon). Predeceased by husband Percy Matthews; daughter Carolyn; parents, William and Caroline Brushett; brothers, James and Frederick Brushett; and by sister Lillian Fergueson. Leaving to mourn daughters: Janice (Charles) Moores, St. John's, and Mildred Cheverie, Dartmouth. NS; grandchildren: Brad (Noreen) Cheverie, Amanda Cheverie, Dartmouth, NS, and Jennifer (Michael) Faber, Cambridge, ON; great-grandson Trenton Faber, Cambridge, ON; sister Pearl Hatrield, Burin; and sister-in-law Anna Brushett, Antigonish, NS. Passed peacefully away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Center on Wednesday November 6, 2013, Edison W. Strickland of Fortune, age 81 years. Predeceased by parents. Leaving to mourn wife Shirley, daughter Tina, son Richard, and stepchildren, Diane, Ann Marie, Rochelle, George, Dennis, & Glenda. He will also be missed by a large circle of family and friends. Leaving to mourn sons Robert (Late Alice Whiffen), George (Emily), Patrick and Clarence all of Rushoon; daughters Blanche Pitcher (Wayne) of Shoal Harbour, Mary Barrett (Roger) of Fort MacMurray, Rita Barrett (Randy) of Swift Current and Doreen Whiffen (George Miller) of Rushoon; 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sisters Annie Whiffen and Margaret Dicks of Rushoon; brothers Charles Norman (Isabelle) and John Norman both of Rushoon; sister-in-law Theresa Cheeseman plus a large circle of other family and friends. Predeceased by husband Patrick; parents George and Alice Norman; brother Angus and George Norman; sister Alice Brinston; daughter-in-law Alice Whiffen and grandson Shawn.
