The area includes from Terrenceville on down to Grand Bank, over to Lamaline, St. Lawrence, Burin, Marystown and down the Peninsula again to Boat Harbour. All the communities are not named but serves the whole of the Peninsula.

 

CLARKE, JESSIE D.
1918-2010
It is with great sadness that the family of the late JESSIE D. CLARKE of Fortune announces her passing at the Blue Crest Home in Grand Bank on Saturday November 20, 2010 at the age of 92. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories son Charles John (Meta) Clarke of Fortune; sister Molly Harding of Halifax; sister-in-laws Marina Thornhill of St. John's and Doris Hynes of Holyrood; 3 grandchildren Sherry of Mount Pearl, Charlene of Fortune, and Jonathan of Mount Pearl; plus a large circle of family and friends. Pre-deceased by husband James Clarke. Resting and Visitation to take place from Wiseman's Funeral Homes in Fortune on Sunday November 21st from 2pm - 4pm and 7pm to 9pm; and Monday November 22nd from 2pm - 4pm and 7pm - 9pm. Funeral Service to take place at Fortune United Church on Tuesday November 23rd at 2:00pm. Interment to follow at the United Church Cemetery in Fortune. Date of Birth: June 26, 1916

Passed peacefully away at the Blue Crest Nursing Home, Grand Bank on Nov. 12, 2010 Rita Collier of Baine Harbour age 94 years. Leaving to mourn daughter Daphne Lake (Fred) of Baine Harbour; grandchildren Dianne Hodder (David) of Paradise and Darrell Reid (Hazel) of Fort MacMurray; great grandchildren Brittany, Brandon and Sheryail; great great grandchildren Riley and Nash plus a large circle of other family and friends. Predeceased by husband Basil and son-in-law Leslie Reid. Rev. Kenneth Abbott officiated Funeral Service from St. Marks Anglican Church, Baine Harbour Monday, Nov. 15th at 1PM with interment following at Anglican Cemetery, Baine Harbour. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to St. Marks Anglican Church, Baine Harbour or Blue Crest Nursing Home, Grand Bank. Pall Bearers were Brandon Hodder, Bruce Tessier, Arthur Ford, James Murphy, David Hodder and Wayne Rodway. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Burin.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories sons Victor of St. John's, Daniel of Toronto, ON, Curtis of St. Lawrence and Frank of Vancouver, BC; daughters Agatha (Dennis) Corteau of Montreal, QC, Jeannie Macavaney of Vancouver, BC, Madonna Reid (John Harnett) of Toronto, ON, Grace Edwards of St. John's, Ann (Cyril) Fitzpatrick of St. John's, Cecilia Edwards (Andrew MacDonald) of Sault Ste. Marie, Brenda Edwards (Patrick Harris) of Toronto, ON, Faith Edwards of Vancouver, BC, and Priscilla Edwards (Theo Slaney) of St. Lawrence; sisters Margaret Hennebury of Lord's Cove, Mary Hodge of Marystown, and Theresa Smith of Marystown; brother George Brake; 16 grandchildren; a large number of great-grandchildren; plus a large circle of family and friends. She leaves to mourn her daughters Evelyn (husband Fred), Bonnie, Sharon (finance Bill), Linda, Margaret, Gladys, Effie (husband Phil) and Jackie, and son Billy, grandchildren Rebecca, Miranda, Kimmy, Abbie, Lisa, Melissa, Monika, Marcella, Christina, Renee, Jennifer, Dennis, Danny, Crystal, Julie, Harvey, and Johnathon, a large circle of great-grandchildren, also a number of other relatives and friends. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories mother Celestina Lawrence; sister Bonnie Bryce (Scot) of ON; brother David Lawrence (Cheryl) of ON; Aunts and Uncles Anne and Abel Clarke of Frenchman's Cove, Al and Cindy Lawrence, Nancy and Russ Zenick and Linda Irwin; special niece and godchild Cassie Bryce and nephews Eric and Corey Lawrence and JP O'Reilly plus many other relatives and friends. Predeceased by her father Peter Lawrence. Cremation has taken place a memorial service to take place from Lion's Cove, Garnish on Wednesday, November 17th at 1PM.
