BUTLER, MAUDE
It is with broken hearts that the family of the late MAUDE BUTLER of Marystown announces her passing. Maude passed away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Center in Burin on May 2, 2019 at the age of 92. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are her daughters, Nora Tremblett of Marystown and Denise Butler (Al Mallay) of Marystown; 8 grandchildren, Gerard Tremblett, Jason Tremblett (Melissa), Keith Lisiecki, Mark Lisiecki, Tiffany Lisiecki, Jacob Butler, Larry and Eric Butler; 4 great-grandchildren, Jayden Lisiecki, Bryce Hanlon-Tremblett, Grady Butler, and Forest Butler; sisters, Lottie Healey of St. John's; sister-in-law, Geraldine (Alex) Stapleton of Marystown; daughter-in-law, Michelle White of Cambell River, BC; plus a large circle of extended family and friends. It is with broken hearts that the family of the late RODNEY SLANEY of St. Lawrence announces his sudden passing. Rodney passed away at his home in Paradise on Sunday, May 26, 2019 at the age of 54. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are his wife, Barbara Doyle of 19 years; son, David of Paradise; grandchildren, David and Skyler; mother, Therese Slaney; sisters, Christina Perrot (Jacques), Lisa Loder (Jim), Sonia Slaney (Andy), and Claudia Brockerville (Frank); brothers, Gary Slaney and Rudy Slaney (Karen); sister-in-law, Valerie Slaney; plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, inlaws, relatives and friends, especially his "Armour Family". Rodney was predeceased by his father, Herbert Slaney; and brother, Roger Slaney. In keeping with Rodney's wishes, cremation has taken place. He was a devoted husband to his wife Barbara, of whom he adored, a proud father to his son David, and a fabulous Poppy to his grandson, David and granddaughter, Skyler. Rodney had a heart of gold. He was a kind, gentle man who loved life and family. He was in his glee when he was on his back deck barbequing for family gatherings and sharing his love of watching concerts from his prize collection. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are her sons, Freeman (Sharon) Woodland of Toronto, ON, Calvin (Annette) Woodland of Taylor's Bay, Clyde (Cavella) Woodland of Bowmanville, ON, Samuel (Belinda) Woodland of Sackville, NS, and Thomas (Wanda) Woodland of Ajax, ON; daughters, Violet (Ambrose) Beck of Whitby, ON, and Mary (Chris) Sheppard of Williamswood, NS; 13 grandchildren; brother, John Hollett of Marystown; plus a large circle of extended family and friends.
