It is with great sadness that the family of the late MARY CHEESEMAN of Rushoon, NL, announces her passing at her residence in Rushoon, on Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at the age of 82. (August 4, 1930 - March 27, 2013)

Passed away at Grand Bank Health Care Centre on Wednesday, March 27, 2013, Sarah Comben of Grand Bank, age 82 years. Predeceased by husband Wilfred, son Norman, granddaughter Vanessa, and brother Phil Cox, plus a large circle of brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Leaving to mourn: sons George (Barb), Keith (Donna), and daughter-in-law Ann. Brothers Garfield, Norman(Bessie), sisters Bessie Lawrence, Joyce Keeping, sister-in-law Hilda Cox, brother-in-law Bill Thornhill. 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, long time friend Joyce Rogers, plus a large circle of neices, nephews and friends. (September 28, 1923 - March 25, 2013

It is with great sadness the family of the late Charlie J. Dicks of Rushoon announces his passing at Blue Crest Interfaith Home, Grand Bank on Monday, March 25, 2013, at the age of 89 years. Leaving to mourn wife Gladys; sons Charlie Jr. (Vera) of Marystown, Larry (Yvonne) of St. John's and Herbert (Elaine) of Rushoon; daughter Joan Pearson (Austin) of Rushoon; 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren plus a large circle of other family and friends. Passed peacefully away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre, Burin, on Friday, March 29, 2013, MAXWELL FOOTE, of Collin's Cove, Burin, NL, in his 84th year. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Gladys, sons, Eric, Marystown, James, Halifax, NS, Maxwell Jr., Portugal Cove, Sheldon, Conception Bay South; 5 Grandchildren Tanya, Crystal, Amanda, Sheldon, Natasha, 6 Great Grand Children, Mckailee, Shian, Jordan, Aliyah, Kianna, Kendra; and a large circle of relatives and friends friends. Maxwell is predeceased by his brothers Gordon, Charlie, Malcolm, and William, Cyrus, and sisters Mabel, Gertie and Elizabeth. It is with great sadness that the family of the late RITA MARY HALEY of Lawn, NL, announces her passing at the U.S. Memorial Hospital in St. Lawrence, on Friday, March 29, 2013, at the age of 93. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are: sons - Mike of Lawn, Peter of Lawn, Alphonse (Jackie) of Lawn, Eric of Lawn, Mario (Patti) of St. John's and Wayne of St. Lawrence; daughter Tina Turpin (Dean) of Conception Bay South; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; plus a large circle of other relatives and friends. Predeceased by parents Peter and Lucy Benteau, husband Bert Harnett, brothers Michael & Peter Benteau and sister Emma Harnett; son-in-Law John Herlidan, grandson Corey Harnett. Leaving to mourn three daughters: Vivian Herlidan of Lord's Cove, Jeanette Drake (Robert) of Alberta, Ruth Stapleton (Keith) of Lamaline, three sons: Calvin Harnett of Ontario, John Harnett (Susan) of Nova Scotia, Gerard Harnett of Lord's Cove. PIKE, LEVI
(1923-2013)

It is with great sorrow that the family of Levi Pike, of St. Lawrence, NL, announces his sudden passing at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre on Friday, March 1, 2013, at 89 years of age. Levi was first and foremost a loving and dedicated husband and father. He leaves to mourn, his wife of almost 68 years, Mildred Hillier Pike. Together Levi and Mildred raised, with unconditional love and devotion, 11 children. Left to mourn with Mildred are their children, of whom he was so very proud; Maxine (Rene) Fowler and Violet (Gerald) Fitzpatrick of St. Lawrence, NL, Diane (Brian) Campbell of Conception Bay South, NL, Marlene Pike (Robert Parizeau) of Kitchener ON, Connie Pike (Sean Roche) of Conception Bay South, NL, Donna (Steve) McCullough of Red Lake, ON, Deborah Pike of Halifax NS, Catherine (Cate) Pike of Dartmouth NS, Valerie Pike (Mark Lavin) of Saint John NB, and his only living son, Levi Pike Jr. of Conception Bay South, NL. Also mourning Levi's precious life; 21 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren, all of whom he loved and adored. In sadness, his remaining siblings Freda, Margaret, Marion, Charles, Sandra, Vera, and Linda also mourn. Levi was predeceased by his first son Perry (1967), along with his parents, Charles James Pike and Emma Blanche Blagdon Pike, sisters Selina Ivy (Lucy), Berdina Elizabeth (Betty), Violet, Stella and brother John. Levi was an avid and loyal listener of CBC radio, a passionate reader, an avid hiker, a consummate advocate for his community, and hero to many. He is remembered as a loving Christian, who was involved and respected in the Newfoundland political scene for many years, as he loved his majestic homeland. Levi's most precious legacy was his demonstrated commitment to his family. His message, gentle and adamant, has been and will remain one of love, hope, humour, knowledge, and commitment to each other. He will remain adored and respected by many, and his memory will always be cherished. A philosopher once said "humility + wonder = wisdom." That would be Levi. A celebration and service for Levi's life, along with a Christian burial will take place at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday March 5, 2013 at St. Matthew's Anglican Church in St. Lawrence NL. Predeceased by parents James and Annie Warren; wives Elizabeth and Isabell, brother Clyde, sister Ruby. Remains resting at Warren's Funeral Home on Sunday from 7 pm - 9 pm for (FAMILY ONLY). Then on Monday and Tuesday from 2 pm - 4 pm; 7 pm - 9 pm for public visitation. Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday at 2 pm from the Salvation Army, Grand Bank. Interment to follow at Salvation Army Cemetery, Grand Bank. Donations in his memory may be made to Blue Crest Caring Campaign, Grand Bank. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Warren's Funeral Home, Grand Bank.
