APPLEBY, MURIEL
It is with great sadness That the family of Muriel Appleby of Burin announces her passing at the US Memorial Health Center on June 12, 2020 at the age of 90 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories son Jeff (Mary Joy) of Salt Pond; daughters Jill Mulrooney (Jim) of Rushoon and Joy Slaney (Sandy) of St. Lawrence; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law Ella Appleby; sisters Alma Street (Galen) and Shirley Moulton (Joe); brother Randy Street (Gladys) plus a large circle of other family and friends. Predeceased by husband Fred and son Jerry. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Ship Cove. BUGDEN, WILLIAM GORDON
It is with great sadness that the family of William Gordon Bugden of Epworth announces his passing at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Center on June 6, 2020 at the age of 76 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories sons Rodney Cumben of AB, Michael Foote of Nova Scotia and Matthew Foote (Jenny) of AB; daughters Henrietta Collins (Nicholas) of Fortune, Georgina Piercey (David) of Fortune and Michelle Newman (Boyd) of Ontario; 12 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren plus a large circle of other family and friends. Predeceased by wife Mary Jane; mother Millicient Brinston, son Henry Anthony, brothers and sisters. In keeping with his wishes cremation will take place. BUTLER, AMY
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Amy Butler of Baine Harbour, NL announces her peacefully passing on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at Blue Crest Nursing Home, Grand Bank, NL at the age of 89 years. Leaving to mourn with loving and precious memories son Robert (Lorraine) Baine Harbour, daughters Margaret King (Wallace) Brookside, Eileen Clarke (George) Brooks, AB, Velma Hather England, Julie Kenway (Randy) Baine Harbour, 20 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren, brothers Austin Smith (Viola), & Clarence Smith , daughter-in-law Gladys Butler Grand Bank plus a large circle of other family & friends. Predeceased by parents John and Caroline Smith, husband William, son Woodrow, grandson Cory Kenway, sisters Eileen King, brother Scott Smith, Alice Butler, sons -in-law Thomas King & David Hather. HICKEY, AUGUSTINE J.
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. Augustine J. Hickey passed peacefully away on June 9, 2020 at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre, in his 87th year.
Predeceased by his parents, John and Margaret Ellen Hickey; brother, Pat; sisters, Sarah Anne Fizzard and Mary Barger; brother-in-law, John Fizzard; nephews, Joseph Fizzard, Jerry Rueff, Jim Barger and Graham Hickey; niece, Cindy Hickey; and great nephew, Philip Fizzard. Leaving to mourn with many loving and treasured memories, his wife, Rebecca; sons, Tim (Valerie) and Will (Carolann); daughter, Clara (Stephen); sister, Gladys Rueff (Bob) and brother, Jerry (Liz). Also leaving to mourn are his grandchildren whom he cherished, Timothy, Samantha, Meghan, and Carter; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Augustine was a hardworking, energetic, and chatty man. He had many back-in-the-day stories to tell to whoever wanted to listen. Augustine was a friend to all who knew him. He always made time to stop and say hello. Although he has left us with sadness in our hearts, he is now at peace and will be forever missed.
The Family extends our deepest gratitude to his homecare provider, Marie. We would like to express our sincerest thanks to all who have helped us through this difficult time. LAMBE, ROCHE THOMAS
Roche Thomas Lambe
, age 69, passed peacefully in his sleep surrounded by loved ones on Friday, June 12, 2020 at the Miller Center in St.Johns, after a courageous battle with cancer. Roche was born on July 6, 1950 and raised in Lord's Cove. He is predeceased by parents Sam & Annie Lambe, and also his niece Lyndsey. Roche was part of a large family with nine siblings...Winston, Eileen, Selina, Theresa, Barbera, Gary, Gwen, Lynette and Dominic. He graduated from Memorial University of Nfld with a BA Ed. Roche had recently retired after a long and successful career as a high school teacher, and had touched the lives of many students during his time in St.Lawrence, Lawn and later in Pelly Crossing. He is survived by his four children...Stephen (wife, Sue), Danny, Jonathan and Catherine. He also had three grandchildren Noah, Abbie, and Cohen. Roche was a brother, a father, an uncle, a teacher, a leader and a guiding mentor. He was a beacon of light in this world, and gave his love so freely to so many. Words cannot begin to describe the void we'll all be feeling without his presence in our lives.
Memorial service will be held at Barrett's Funeral Home at 328 Hamilton Ave. on Wednesday June 17th at 1 pm, but with Covid still being a concern, it will be confined to immediate family only. There will be a burial service held on Saturday June 20th at 2pm in Lords Cove. Service is open to the public but the family requests visitors stay in their cars until after the family has departed. PIKE, EDGAR
It is with broken hearts that the family of the late EDGAR PIKE of Bay L'Argent announces his passing. Edgar passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family in Bay L'Argent on Friday, June 5, 2020 at the age of 84. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are his wife, Ruby of 61 years; children, Joanne Pike (Peter Poole) of Halifax, Edgar Pike Jr. of Bay L'Argent, Kimberley Pike (Rodney) of Harbour Mille, Amanda Reid (Roy) of Bay L'Argent; 8 grandchildren, Natasha, Blake, Chelsea, Quinton, Brayden, Isaac, Brady, and Jordan; 3 great-grandchildren, Riley, Lilly, and Ryder; sister, Nina Cahill of St. Johns; and special niece, Dianne Banfield; plus a large circle of extended family and friends. Edgar was predeceased by his parents, William and Charlotte Pike; and his sister, Melinda Windsor. In keeping with Mr. Pike's wishes, cremation will take place. Due to the current Public Health Advisory of COVID-19 a private funeral service will take place at a later time.

Passed peacefully away at Chancellor Park on June 20, 2020, ESTHER TAYLOR, 72, formerly of Fortune, NL. Essie is predeceased by her father George Miller (1959), her grandparents Benjamin, Mary, and Myrtle Keeping and John and Maude Miller. She leaves to mourn her mother Rosanna Miller; her sister Vivian (Reverend Canon Iliffe Sheppard) Mount Pearl; her son George (Susan) Yarker ON; her daughter Jennifer at Brooks AB; six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, her special uncle Reverend Canon Edward Keeping (Joyce) St. John's; her aunts and uncles of the Keeping Family of Fortune, her many cousins, along with other nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Essie is also mourned by her close friend Gary Gushue, St. John's. The family extends a special note of thanks to both the staff of 4 West St. Clare's Hospital and Chancellor Park for their care of Essie in recent weeks. No flowers by request.
