Born in Grand Bank, NL
Sunday, September 3, 1933 - Saturday, June 29, 2019

Passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Saturday June 29, 2019, in his 86th year. Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth. Loving father of Kimberley Babcock and her husband Jim and Jennifer Harris and her husband Jeff. Cherished Pop of Jason Babcock (Kristen), Stephanie Harmon (Thomas), John-Paul Morris (Amy), Elizabeth Morris and great grandpa to Hayden Roy Morris. Survived by his sister Barbara White of St. John's, Newfoundland. Predeceased by his mother and father Jack and Joy (Griffin) Grandy and his brother Harry. The family is very grateful for the care and compassion from the Palliative Care Team at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. Resting at the Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King Street East, Oshawa on Wednesday July 3rd from 6-8 pm. Passed peacefully away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Center on June 14, 2019 ALOYSIUS BRENTON of Marystown in his 85th year. Aloysius is predeceased by his parents Jack and Donalda Brenton; his sisters, Marcella, Joan, and Evelyn; his brothers, Eugene, Wayne, and Patrick; his son, Randy Brenton; grandson, Stephen Brenton; and son-in-law, Ed Thistle. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories is his wife Mary of 64 years; sons, Aubrey (Phyllis), and Calvin (Donna); daughters, Vivian Thistle, Cindy Ducey (Chris), and Mary Nolan (Roger); daughters-in-law, Gina Brenton and Lett Brenton; 6 grandchildren, Kimberly, Stephanie, Darren, Kristen, Tiffany, and Patrick; 8 great-grandchildren, Olivia, Kye, Amara, Reese, Madison, Braxton, Jett, and Emme; brothers, Thomas, Alan (Dianne) and families; sisters, Susie (John) and families, and Jacqueline (Allister) and families. BRUSHETT, Gordon Winston Maxwell
It is with great sadness that the family of Gordon Winston Maxwell Brushett of Burin announces his passing at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, St. John's on June 14, 2019 at the age of 77 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories wife Evelyn (nee Francis); sister Jessie Abbott (Harvey); children Darryl Francis (Ada), Dwayne (Janice), Kimberly (Carl) and Craig (Bonnie); grandchildren Valerie (Nadine), Stephen (Beverly), Trevor (Yu), Ryan (Whitney), Skyler, Matthew, Zackary, Ethan and Emily; six great-grandchildren and a large circle of family and friends. Predeceased by parents Douglas and Victoria Brushett, brothers Charles, Leonard and George and sister Elsie. Gordon was a devoted volunteer in his community. His love for children was evident in his devotion to The Donald C. Jamieson Academy Breakfast Program. Cremation has taken place. It is with broken hearts that the family of the late John Foote of Parker's Cove announces his passing. John passed away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre in Burin on June 13, 2019 at the age of 74. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are his wife Helen of 44 years; daughters, Sarah Picco (Ronnie) of Parker's Cove, Sue Ella Foote (Jamie Maloney) of Bonavista; grandchildren, William Picco, Amanda Maloney, Andrew Picco; brother, Gerard Foote of Parker's Cove; plus a large circle of extended family and friends. John was predeceased by his parents John & Rita Foote. Peacefully at Lakeridge Health, Oshawa on Thursday, June 20, 2019 in her 101st year. Beloved Wife of the late Harvey Grandy. Loving Mother of Henrietta (Malcolm), Hilda (Robert), Blossom, the late Rose and son-in-law Bernard. Cherished Grandma of Harvey (Robbie), Denise (Dan), Paul (Amy), Mel (Crystal), Colette (Todd) and treasured Great-Grandma of many. Dear sister of Rose and Leonard. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Lillian (Annie) Osbourne of Little Bay East announces that she passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at St. Patrick's Mercy Home in St. John's on Sunday, June 30th, 2019, at the age of 86. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her sons Max (Joyce), Glen (Marjorie), Brian (Karen), Paul (Lorraine) and daughter Paula (Charlie); Grandchildren, Tammy (Francis), Craig (Michelle), Shane, Shannah, Jessica, Paul, and Jasmine; Great Grandchildren, Sophia, Isabella, Max, Carly, Noah and Lilly; Sister Joyce (Fred) and brother Gord (Helen); and a large number relatives and friends. Predeceased by her loving husband Leonard, her parents Edward and Ellen Good, Sister Julia, brothers Jake, Harold and Samuel. ROWLANDS, PETER M.
It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of PETER M. ROWLANDS of Jean de Baie, NL (formerly of Stephenville, NL) on Sunday, June 02, 2019. Surrounded by his loving family and caregivers, Peter passed peacefully, at home, at the age of 93 years. Peter is survived by his wife, Mary of 65 years, along with his nine children: Angela (Clarence Casey - CBS, NL), Donna (David Weber - London, ON), Peter (Brenda - Lansdowne, ON), Dave (Cynthia - Gander, NL), Joe (Julie - Dartmouth, NS), John (Colette - Lawrencetown, NS), Ray (Brenda - Mount Pearl, NL), Philip (Laura - Embrun, ON), Cathy (Tony White - Shediac, NB). He also leaves behind a loving legacy of twenty-three grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. Born in Jean de Baie, May 6, 1926, he moved to Stephenville during the construction of the Earnest Harmon Airforce Base, where he met and married Mary Dalton, of Johns Pond, St. Mary's Bay. He was employed in various capacities throughout his life, ending his working career in 1984 as first engineer of MV Fred J. Agnich (operated by GSI/Texas Instruments). People were high priority to Peter. He was a community-oriented person, and generously volunteered with various service groups - including a lifetime membership with the Lions Club. He loved to laugh, sing and tell stories, and was considered a natural entertainer by all. He liked nothing better than a house full of family and friends. He will be sorely missed. Peter was predeceased by his parents, John Tom and Mary Rowlands; brothers: Phonse, Len, Jack, Rod, and Joe; sisters: Theresa, Lucy, Mary and Margaret; and son James. Visitation will take place at Wiseman's Funeral Home, Marystown on Thursday, June 6 from 7-9pm and Friday June 7from 1-7pm with Vigil from 7-9pm. Funeral service will take place at Sacred Heart Parish, Marystown on Saturday, June 8th at 11am. Interment will follow at Star of the Sea Cemetery in Jean de Baie. It is with great sadness we announce the sudden but peaceful passing of CAPTAIN JERRY SCOTT, he has set sail into his final journey. Mr. Scott passed away at his home on June 12, 2019. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are his wife Lucy of 57 years; son, Herman Jr. of Calgary; daughters, Yvonne Stacey of Vancouver, Claudine Prior (Randall) of Spanish Room, Maxine Stacey (Frazer Skinner) of Conception Bay South, and Bridget Stacey of Marystown; 1 grandchild, Carter Prior, ; brother, Gordon Stacey of Medicine Hat; plus a large circle of extended family and friends. Herman was predeceased by his parents, Alfred and Jessie Stacey; parents-in-law, John and Bridget Power; brother, Ambrose Stacey; and sisters, Olive, and Maude. TRIMM Laura
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister at the age of 74 years. Laura Trimm passed peacefully away at the Agnes Pratt Home, St. John's, June 1, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. Laura leaves to mourn a large and loving family including her three sons; Shaun (Gail), Darrin (Bonnie) and Trevor (Pam), brothers; John (Alberta), Les (Mary), George (Shirley), Wilson (Linda), and Wayne (Diane), and sisters; Vera (Gord), Betty (Larry), and Janice (Wayne). Laura was also a grandmother to Vicki, Lindsey, Kelly, Amanda, Tyler, Brandon and Nathan, and a grea tgrandmother to Angela plus a large circle of other family and friends. Predeceased by her husband Lloyd, as well as mother and father, Abigail and Edgar. The family will receive visitors at Serenity Funeral Home, 7 Church Street, Grand Bank on Sunday, June 2, 2019 from 3-9 PM. A Funeral service in Laura's memory will be held at Serenity Funeral Home, Grand Bank for family Monday, June 3rd at 2PM followed by interment at the Salvation Army Cemetery.
