The area includes from Terrenceville on down to Grand Bank, over to Lamaline, St. Lawrence, Burin, Marystown and down the Peninsula again to Boat Harbour. All the communities are not named but serves the whole of the Peninsula.

 

COX, Bertha F.
(October 1, 1924 - June 15, 2010)

Passed peacefully away at the US Memorial Health Care, St. Lawrence on Tuesday, June 15th, Bertha F. Cox of Grand Bank, formerly of Great Harbour, age 85 years. Predeceased by father and mother William and Charlotte Rose, loving son Randy, granddaughter Judy and daughter-in-law Bella Cox. Leaving to mourn, her loving family: Husband Garfield, sons William (Phoebe), Garfield (Lillian), Robert (Maisie), Melvin (Patsy) all of Grand Bank; daughters Evelyn Snook (Arthur) of Wreck Cove, Linda Bennett (Otto) Grand Bank and daughter-in-law Cindy Cox of Petawawa, Ont. 15 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, sister Joyce Skinner of Halifax, brother-in-law Norman (Bessie) of Wreck Cove, sisters-in-law Bessie Lawrence of Grand Bank, Sarah Cumben of Grand Bank, Joyce Keeping of Wreck Cove, and Hilda Cox of St Jacques. Also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Remains resting at Warren's Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2pm - 4pm (FAMILY ONLY); 7pm - 9pm; Thursday from 10am - 12pm; 2pm - 4pm; 7pm - 9pm. Funeral Service will take place on Friday at 2pm from St. Alban's Anglican Church, Grand Bank. Interment to follow at St. Alban's Anglican Cemetery, Grand Bank. Donations in her memory may be made to Parkinson Society. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Warren's Funeral Home, Grand Bank.

DICKS, William H.
(May 2, 1955 - June 14, 2010)

Passed peacefully away at the Blue Crest Nursing Home, Grand Bank on Monday, June 14, 2010, William H. Dicks of Grand Bank, age 55 years. Predeceased by brother Edgar, grandparents William and Louisa Peach and Hubert and Lillian Dicks. Leaving to mourn, wife Daisy of 33 years, daughters Denica Foote (Chris), and Kimberly Barber (William), Special Granddaughters Abigail Foote and Emily Barber. Special Grandsons Liam and Bryce Barber, Parents Cecil and Evelyn Dicks, sisters Brenda (Wayne) of Grand Bank, Flora (Glen) of Bay Roberts, and Joan (Dave) of Grimbsy, Ontario. Also leaving to mourn Mother and Father-in-law Kenneth and Ida Pierce, sisters-in-law Donna Newport (Jim), Kathy Pierce (Chris), Diane Butt (Danny), and brother-in-law Perry Pierce (Joanne). Also a large circle of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Remains resting at Warren's Funeral Home, Grand Bank on Monday from 2pm - 4pm (FAMILY ONLY), 7pm - 9pm. Tuesday from 10am - 12pm; 2pm - 4pm; 7pm - 9pm. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday at 2pm from the Salvation Army Grand Bank. Interment to follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Fortune. HARDING, DAVID
Date of Birth: November 09, 1959

Passed suddenly away at Greenland on June 10, 2010 David Harding of Burin Bay Arm age 50 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories sons Matthew and Mark; father Howard Harding; sister Glennys and husband Conroy; niece Sabrina; nephew Justin all of Burin plus a large circle of other family and friends. Predeceased by mother Jean; grandparents Sam and Susie Harding and Dinah and Augustus Hillier. Rev. Mary Harris officiated Funeral Service place from Bethany United Church, Burin Bay on Tuesday at 2pm with Cremation following. Pall Bearers were Matthew Harding, Mark Harding, Murray Harding, Shawn Harding, Justin Harding and Gary Warren. Donations may be made to family or flowers gratefully accepted. HARRIS, BESSIE
Date of Birth: July 01, 1918

Passed peacefully away at the L.A. Miller Centre, St. John's on June 26, 2010 Bessie Harris of Garnish aged 92 years. Predeceased by husband George and sisters Ettie Day and Flossie Grandy. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories daughters Norma and husband Jacob Barnes of Garnish and Colleen and husband Bruce Clarke of St. John's; 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren plus a large circle of other family and friends. Resting at St. Giles Anglican Church, Garnish at 10am Tuesday. Funeral service to take place from St. Giles Anglican Church, Garnish on Wednesday, June 30th at 2pm with interment following at Anglican Cemetery, Garnish. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories wife Ernestine of 53 years; sons Kevin (Belinda) Kelly of Mooring Cove, Ambrose (Lillian) Kelly of Houston, BC, James Kelly of Fort McMurray, Bill Kelly of Mooring Cove, Anthony Kelly of Fort McMurray, Dave (Melissa) Kelly of Fort McMurray, and Glen (Wanda) Kelly of Mooring Cove; daughters Gloria (James) Hanrahan of Little Bay, Alice Kelly (Alonzo Brake) of Mooring Cove, and Mary Kelly (James Brake) of Little Bay; special niece Mary Hannam; special friend Bridie Jenkinson; 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; plus a large circle of family and friends. Predeceased by father and mother Albert and Bethina Purchase and brother George; leaving to mourn son Dion (Katrina) of Lamaline, grandson Shawn, granddaughter Brianna, Special friend Carmel Boland, brother Albert (Florence) of Halifax, sisters Jessie (Frank) Patten of Fortune and Dorothy Ross of Burin. Also a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. Remains resting at St. Mary's Anglican Church, Lamaline on Friday at 6 pm, then on Saturday and Sunday. Funeral service will take place on Monday, June 21st, at 2 pm from St. Mary's Church, Lamaline. Interment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Lamaline. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories sons Daniel (Peggy) Spencer of Bonavista, Glen (Suzann) Spencer of Merrickville, ON.; daughters Mary Spencer of Marystown and Connie Spencer of Marystown; partner and best friend Jean Power Philpott; sisters Sharon (Walter) Walsh, Joan Power, Sadie (Kevin) Kelly, Kate Collins, and Regina Dober all of Marystown; brothers Lee (Doreen) Spencer, and Arch (Margaret) Spencer all of Marystown; 5 grandchildren Danielle, Darren, Joshua, Danny and Sophie; plus a large circle of family and friends. Passed peacefully away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Center on June 12, 2010 Annie Tobin of Burin in her 71st year. Predeceased by husband John Joseph. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories sons George (Marilyn), William (Beulah), Ignatius (Lisa), Walter, Sandy (Deana) and John (Nichole) all of Burin; daughters Theresa (Learo Inkpen), Elizabeth and Jacqueline (Derrick) all of Burin; 12 granchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sisters Lydia (Elam King), Theresa (Randell Pike) and Elizabeth Nolan; brothers Ignatius Mitchell and William Mitchell (Rhoda) plus a large circle of other family and friends. Father Theodore O'Connor officiated Funeral Mass from St. Patrick's RC Church on Tuesday at 1:30pm with interment following at RC Cemetery, Salt Pond. Pall Bearer's were William Tobin, Sandy Tobin, John Tobin, Walter Tobin, William Mitchell and Christopher Tobin. Cross Bearer was Stephen Mitchell. Date of Birth: April 19, 1967

Passed peacefully away at the US Memorial Hospital, St. Lawrence on June 18, 2010, Georgina Tobin of St. Lawrence age 43 years. Predeceased by father George Stewart; sister Linda Saunders; father-in-law George Tobin and sister-in-law Sandra Stewart. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories husband Brian; son Joshua both of St. Lawrence; mother Bridget Stewart of Marystown; sisters Carlann Stewart of Marystown and Joanne Malloy (Adrian) of Marystown; brothers Peter Stewart (Irene) of Marystown, John Stewart of Burin, Bill Stewart of Marystown, Demont Stewart of Marystown, Craig Stewart of Marystown and Kenneth Stewart (Joanie) of St. Bernard's; sister-in-laws Theresa Poole (Wayne) of Mount Pearl, Gladys Tobin (Ben) of St. Lawrence and Lisa Tobin of St. Lawrence; brother-in-law Eugene Stewart of Marystown, Tom Tobin (Selena) of St. Lawrence, George Tobin (Lynette) of Paradise, Phillip Tobin (Roberta) of St. Lawrence, Randy Tobin (Alice) of St. Lawrence and Graham Tobin (Ellen) of St. Lawrence; mother-in-law Marion Tobin of St. Lawrence; many nieces and nephews plus a large circle of other relatives and friends. Pall Bearers were Peter Stewart, William Stewart, Kenneth Stewart, Randy Tobin, Philip Tobin and Wayne Poole. Cross Bearer was Christian Tobin.
