The area includes from Terrenceville on down to Grand Bank, over to Lamaline, St. Lawrence, Burin, Marystown and down the Peninsula again to Boat Harbour. All the communities are not named but serves the whole of the Peninsula.

 

BRUSHETT Sr., GEORGE
It is with great sadness that the family of George Brushett Sr. of Creston North announces his passing at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Center on Friday January 26, 2018 at the age of 98 years. George is a Lifelong member of the local branch of the Royal Canadian Legion and 71 years with the Free Masons. Leaving to mourn wife Mary Frances; daughter Ann Forsey (Nathaniel) of Kingston, ON; sons George Ernie (Joanne) of Creston North, Gary (Linda) of Grand Bank and Jeffery (Lorna) of Creston North; grandchildren Chris, Melissa, Andrew, Justin, Jamie, Ashley, Robyn and Hannah; great grandchildren Julia, Jacob, Lilly, Jesse and Jack; brother Donald Brushett of Halifax plus a large circle of other family and friends. Predeceased by brothers Douglas and Leonard; sisters Jessie, Evalen, Edith Mary, Helena and Victoria. It is with great sadness that the family of the late ----------GORDON CLUETT of Grand Bank announces his passing at the Miller Centre in St. John's on Thursday, January 18, 2018, at the age of 92. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are sons, Tom (Mildred) Cluett of Grand Bank, and Bruce (Sharon) Cluett of Kilbride; daughter, Dr. Joy Cluett (Jason Stone) of St. John's; sister, Evelyn (Gravis) Grandy; brother, Earl (Margaret) Cluett; 5 grandchildren, Timothy, Tyler, Stephen, Nicholas, and Rebecca; plus a large circle of extended family and friends. CLUETT, LENA (nee Jackson)
It is with great sadness that the family of Lena Cluett (nee Jackson) announces her passing at Carbonear General Hospital, surrounded by family on January 3, 2018. Lena leaves to mourn, daughter: Marilyn; son: Jerry (Brenda); daughter: Cindy (Barney); grandchildren: Danielle (Shane), Jeannie (Salar), Kayla (Kyle), Brittani, and Josh; sisters: Glenna Ash and Dorothy Preston; brothers: Alexander (Ellen), Jethro, Wilfred (Daphne), and Wallace (Audrey), and many nieces and nephews. Lena was predeceased by parents: Arthur and Mable Jackson; husband Carlson; son: Roy; special friend: Fred Williams; brother: Charles; brothers-in-law: Charles Ash and Robert Preston; and sister-in-law: Nina Jackson.
She was born in Cavendish, raised her family with Carlson in Frenchman's Cove, Fortune Bay, and enjoyed her retirement in Harbour Grace with partner Fred Williams and his family. She was a resident at Shag Rock Manor in Whiteway since May 2013.
Lena leaves a large circle of friends, including those from her 13 years of working for FPI in Marystown, who will remember her for her love of a good time, sing-alongs, pranks, darts, bingo, cards, and dice. Her family would like to acknowledge her long time friends Francis Legge of Garnish and Barb Murray of Carbonear.
Visitation will take place at Noel's Funeral Home in Harbour Grace on Friday, January 5th, from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. In accordance with Lena's wishes, cremation will then take place. Funeral service and inurnment will be held in Frenchman's Cove at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.

FEWER, ROLAND
It is with great sadness that the family of the late ---------Roland Fewer of Marystown announces his passing at the Burin Peninsula Healthcare Centre in Burin on January 28, 2018, at the age of 73. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are Kathleen, wife of 52 years; sons, Darren (Connie) of Marystown, Colin (Tina Kean) of Torbay, Mark (Karen) of Torbay; daughters, Janet Gillis (David) of St. John's, Karen White (Rodney) of Placentia; grandchildren; Joshua, Gillian, Matthew, Andrew, Jacob, Lucas, Jessica, Claire, Benjamin, Gloria; plus a large circle of extended family and friends. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are wife Carmelita of 45 years; sons, Edward Slaney (Dawn Anderson) of ON, Jamie Slaney (Jennifer Francis) of Burin, and Colby (Jasmine) Slaney of Lawn; daughters, Tammy (Scott) Slaney of St. Lawrence, Paula (Jamie) Pike of Lawn, and Ashley (Joshua) Tarrant of Lawn; 12 grandchildren, Jeremy, Colten, Brandon, Travis, Kyle, Brady, Brianna, Kallie, Trenton, Lincoln, Eric, and Nicholas; great-grandson, Leland; sisters, Phyllis (Marcel) Belanger of AB, Gertrude (Kevin) Brockerville of ON, Carmel Howlett of St. Lawrence, and Sarah (Julian) Rennie of St. Lawrence; sister-in-law, Edith Slaney of Upper Island Cove; brothers, John (Veronica) Slaney of St. Lawrence, and Todd (Nadine) Slaney of AB; special friend, Keith Drake of Lawn; plus a large circle of extended family and friends.
