Passed Peacefully away after a short illness at Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre on Friday, January 20, 2017, Helen Abbott of Burin Bay Arm at the age of 68 years. BENNETT, CHES
Passed away peacefully on January 31, 2017 at St. Peter's Hospital in Hamilton, Ontario at the age of 72. He was born on February 15, 1944 in Grand Bank, Newfoundland to Charles and Emily Bennett. Ches married Joanne in 1967 in Toronto, Ontario. They were happily married for almost 50 years. Ches loved to sing and play the guitar and was a very active member of his community. Beloved husband of Joanne (nee Hickey), loving father of Gregory (Robinn) and Christopher (Danielle). Sadly missed by his grandchildren Landon, Tyler, Justin, and Emily. Dear brother of Bessie (Charlie), Charles, Jr. (Cecily), Robert (Mildred), Ethel (Carl), Tarra (Steve) and Max (Arbor). Adored by his parents Charles and Emily and fondly remembered by an abundance of friends and family, including in-laws Brenda (Larry), James, and Bill, as well as many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Barnes Memorial Funeral Home 5295 Thickson Road. N., Whitby, on Sunday February 5, 2017 from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the Barnes Chapel on Monday February 6th at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Groveside Cemetery, 5155 Baldwin St. S., Whitby. It is with great sadness the family of Greta Brinston of Creston North announces her passing on January 10, 2017 at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Center at the age of 81 years. Leaving to mourn sons Ash Brinston of Creston North, Melvin Brinston (Elaine) of Alberta, Darrell (Heather) of Alberta and Fabian Strong (Elaine) of Burin Bay Arm; daughter Beverly King (Wince) of Black Duck Cove; 5 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sister Nora Clarke; brothers Gordon Bugden and Curtis Hiscock; special friend Joan Power plus a large circle of other family and. Leaving to mourn her sisters Hazel Kearley (Wilson), English Harbour East, Rita Hunt , Harbour Breton, brother Gordon Evans (Dorothy), English Harbour East; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Christine is predeceased by her parents Reuben and Annie Evans and her brother Clarence Evans. Resting at St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church, English Harbour East on Sunday, January 15, 2017, from 6:00 pm, and all day Monday, Jan. 16, 2017.
