Burin Peninsula Obituaries
January 2008

The area includes from Terrenceville on down to Grand Bank, over to Lamaline, St. Lawrence, Burin, Marystown and down the Peninsula again to Boat Harbour. All the communities are not named but serves the whole of the Peninsula.

 

LEE, Annie Mae
(March 29, 1922 - January 20, 2008)

Passed peacefully away at the Grand Bank Community Health Center on Sunday, January 20th, 2008, Annie Mae Lee of Grand Bank, age 85 years. Predeceased by parents George and Elizabeth Cumben, husband Harvey, sisters Georgie and Susie, brothers Harry, Bert and Wilfred, and son-in-law Clyde Pierce. She leaves to mourn: 3 daughters Eileen Pierce at Fortune, Brenda Monster(Byron) at Fortune, Janice Thornhill (Albert) at Paradise; 3 sons Edward (Wanda) at Red Deer, Alberta, Lloyd (Karen) at Paradise, Wayne (Stella) at Grand Bank; 12 Grandchildren; 7 Great-Grandchildren; brother Byatt Cumben at Grand Bank; sisters-in-law Sarah Cumben at Grand Bank, Martha Keeping (George) at Grand Bank, brothers-in-law Wilson Lee (Isabella) at Grand Bank, William Thornhill at Grand Bank; also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral Service was conducted by Majors Frank and Rita Pittman from the Salvation Army, Grand Bank at 2pm on Tuesday January 22nd. Interment followed at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Grand Bank. Music was provided by the String Band. Pall Bearers were: Lloyd Lee, Wayne Lee, Albert Thornhill, Byron Monster, Kemp Pierce and Jack Cumben. Donations in her memory may be made to the Salvation Army Building Fund, Grand Bank. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Warren's Funeral Home, Grand Bank. "Where Dedicated People Care."

LUNDRIGAN, Bernadette Bridget
(June 8, 1926 - January 22, 2008)

Passed peacefully away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre on Tuesday, January 22, 2008, Bernadette B.Lundrigan of Lord's Cove in her 82nd year. Leaving to mourn three Brothers:Kevin (Christina), Gerald, Patrick (Melinda) all of Lord's Cove, three Nephews and six Nieces. Remains to be cremated,Funeral Mass was conducted by Father Regis Kamela on Saturday Jan 26th,2008 at 11am From Saint Elizabeth's Roman Catholic Church Lord's Cove, Intermemt to Follow At A later Date.Donations in her memory may be made to Saint Elizabeth's Cemetery Fund Lord's Cove. Funeral arrangement entrusted to the care of Warren's Funeral Home, where dedicated people care.

SQUIRES, Garland Gideon
(January 24, 1949 - January 17, 2008)

Passed peacefully away at the US Memorial Health Care Centre, St. Lawrence on Thursday, January 17th, 2008, Garland Gideon Squires of Lamaline, age 58 years. Predeceased by parents John and Edith Squires. He leaves to mourn: wife Louise at Lamaline; 4 daughters Cindy Fitzpatrick (Alfred) at Lamaline, Angela Kent (Peter) at Ontario, June Howell (Campbell) at Moncton, New Brunswick, and Debbie White (Gordon) at Alberta; 1 son Joseph Squires at Ontario; 9 grandchildren; 6 sisters Fern Mugford (Reg) at Clarke's Beach, Dorcas Badcock (Chesley) at Coley's Point, Hazel Badcock at Bay Roberts, Alice Simms (Laurie) at Ontario, Annie Murin (Sidney) at Corner Brook, and Vera Youden (Marvin) at Stephenville. Also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral Service was conducted by Rev. James Pollard from St. Mary's Anglican Church, Lamaline at 2pm on Sunday, January 20th. Interment followed at St. Mary's Anglican Cemetery, Lamaline. Organist was Ella King. Pall Bearers were: Brian King, Joseph Squires, Ronald Mugford, Reg Mugford, Roy Squires, Silas Badcock, and Marvin Youden. Donations in his memory may be made to the family. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Warren's Funeral Home, Grand Bank. "Where Dedicated People Care."
