Chad's battle with cancer began at the age of 15, but this disease is not what should define his life. He fought hard and then didn't look back for the next 20+ years as he carried out many of his dreams. Chad had an accomplished career as a welding inspector which brought him all over the country. When home, family getaways at the cabin in Main Brook, his happy place, is often where you'd find him with a Budlight in his hand. He took great pride in his Subaru STI, the car he spoke of since 15 years old. There was no mistaking when it was officially Subi season on Canning road whenever his car came out of storage. Chad was forever proud of his one and only son, Carter, "his greatest accomplishment", loving him greater than he ever imagined possible.
Chad was strong willed and stubborn at times, but he also had an enormous heart and wonderful sense of humour. He was generous, loyal, and brave. He was clever and full of knowledge gained through all of his life experiences: sea cadet, cancer survivor, welding inspector, son, husband, father, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend. He will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his friends and family. He truly loved each of them- and if you knew him, you knew it. When his time came, he carried himself with dignity, strength, and full of love for those who went before him. He will be missed beyond measure. Our hearts will never be the same but we will be forever grateful that they were touched by him. Cremation has taken place.
