It is with broken hearts that the family of the late SARAH ABBOTT of Harbour Mille announces her passing. Sarah passed away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Center in Burin on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at the age of 82. BEAZLEY, Claude Carlson
It is with great sadness that the family of Claude Carlson Beazley announces his peaceful passing on December 19, 2019 age 82 at the Health Sciences Centre St. John's surrounded by his loving family. Leaving to mourn wife Ethel of over 60 years, son Guy (Jeanette), daughters Heather (Tom) and Dawn (Troy), grandchildren Colin (Charlene), Amy (Glenn) and Evan (Aubrey), great grandchildren Benjamin, Jacob, Sam and Austin, as well as many other relatives and friends. Special thank you to the compassionate doctors and nurses on 4 North B of the Health Sciences. BECKLEY, Olufunlola (Lola) (nee Williams)
It is with great sadness that the family of Olufunlola (Lola) Beckley (nee Williams) announces her peacefully passing at Blue Crest Nursing Home, Grand Bank on Monday, December 16, 2019 at the age of 77 years. Funlola was the third of six children born to Samuel J.A. Williams (organist) at Breadfruit Church (Lagos), and Mrs Aina Williams (née Cole). She was a precocious young girl who skipped a couple classes. She went onto University of Ibadan and transferred to Queen's University in Belfast, Northern Ireland from where she obtained a Science degree in Math and Physics. After graduate studies she worked at Bell Aerospace in Niagara, NY then in computer support for faculty and staff at State University of NY and Buffalo. She worked in UAC Unilever, Lagos software department before heading ABC brewers (Nigeria) computer unit.
She is predeceased by both parents and four siblings, Mrs. Funlayo Osunkiyesi , Prof. A. Femi Williams (Pathologist), Dr. Folahan Williams (Forensic Psychiatrist), and Mr. Fela Williams. Leaving to mourn, her husband of 50 years Dr. Sunmolu A. Beckley, children Dr. Bunmi Beckley, Dr. Akinlolu Beckley, Temi Beckley, and Dr. Akinpelu Beckley. Sister Mrs. M. Folasade Adeogun (née Williams). Grandchildren, Akinwale Beckley, Adesola Beckley, Lara Beckley, Ada Anaebonam, Abiola Beckley, Akin Beckley, and Zara Beckley. BOLT, Annie Dora
It is with broken hearts that the Bolt family announces the passing of their beloved Mom and Grandmother, ANNIE DORA BOLT of Bay L'Argent. Annie passed peacefully away at the Blue Crest Home in Grand Bank on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at the age of 82. FRANCIS, John Louis
It is with great sadness the family of John Louis Francis announces his passing surrounded by his family after a brief illness on December 14, 2019, at the Health Science Center, St. John's at the age of 58 years. Leaving to mourn his wife Anne Marie of 43 years; children whom he loved and cherished Vanessa of Mount Pearl, Bernice (Brad) of High Level, AB, and Louis (Aimee) of Mortier; most of all his pride and joy his grandchildren Stephen, Brandon, Lucas, Jessica and Chelsea; brothers Levi Clark (Maria) of Edmonton, AB and Terry Power of Mortier; sisters Cathy (Chris) of Edmonton of AB, Julie (Dave) of Georgetown; brother-in-law Bill Youden of Georgetown plus a large circle of other family and friends. John spent his career working with Fishery Products International and recently with Town of Burin. John was a great man, pop, friend, second dad, coworker to many some even say they broke the mould when they made him. He always had a smile on his face and enjoyed a laugh and was a man who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. His door was always open. He loved life and lived it to the fullest with his carefree attitude. He sure had a way with words as many appreciated. In John's Memory flowers gratefully accepted or donations to the family. HILLIER, Lillian M.
It is with broken hearts that the family of the late LILLIAN M. HILLIER of Grand Bank announces her passing. Lillian passed away at the Health Science Centre, St. John's on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at the age of 71. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are her husband, Harold of 47 years; son, Todd Hillier of London, ON; sisters, Mary James (Edward) , Leah Foote (Alfred), Dulcie Hillier, and Ruth Foote (Howard); brothers, William Kearley (Edith), Jordon Kearley (Jeanette), and Mervin Kearley; brothers-in-law, Max Hiller (Mary), Clyde Hillier (Beverly), and Ross Hillier (Christine); sisters-in-law, Eileen Harding (Terry), Vera Payne (Llewelyn), Lisa Hillier (Terrence), and Henrietta Hillier; plus a large circle of extended family and friends. HILLIER, ROY STEWART
With heavy hearts the family of the late Roy Stewart Hillier announces his peaceful passing at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre, surrounded by loving family, on December 24, 2019 at the age of 72. Roy was born in Point au Gaul, NL in 1947, and was well known for his keen sense of humour. There was always a laugh to be had even in the toughest times. Roy enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, camping, the outdoors, volunteering with the Lamaline Volunteer Fire Dept., and playing Santa Claus. From working to fishing to hockey to family he put his heart and soul into everything. Roy retired in 2000 after 35 years of service at INCO Limited. Outside of work Roy was an accomplished Sports Trainer having trained with various sports teams including the Sudbury Cyclones (soccer), Sudbury United (soccer), and the Sudbury Nickel Capitals (hockey). In addition to his sports medicine background, Roy was an avid First Aider. He volunteered with St. John Ambulance for four decades, spanning from Ontario to Newfoundland and Labrador. He was involved in many first aid competitions as a competitor and coach. His exemplary service was recognized by Her Royal Highness, Queen Elizabeth II, as he was a Commander of the Order of St. John holding the title of Sir. After realizing his dream of retiring to his beloved Newfoundland, he was further recognized by the Lieutenant Governor of NL for his continued service with St. John Ambulance.
Despite all of his outstanding accomplishments, Roy was a remarkably humble, kind, caring, and generous man who was always quick with a joke and smile for everyone he met. Leaving to mourn with many fond and loving memories are his wife Frances of 49 years, his 3 daughters, Darlene Hillier-Kaczkofsky (Dominick) of Dubuque, Iowa, Diane Graham (Garnet) of Rankin Inlet, Nunavut, Donna Hillier of Fortune, NL, and his son Darrell Hillier (Lee-Anne) of Sudbury, ON. Poppy will be missed by his grandchildren Garnet Graham Jr., Geoffery Graham, Dale Buffett, and Wyatt Hillier. Sadly missed by sisters Gladys, Greta (Walter Bonnell), Shirley (Raphael Lockyer), Eileen (George "Tuss" Rose), Jean (Don Rose) and Marjorie (Steve Rose), and brothers Lloyd (Mary) and William (Marilyn). Roy will be missed by brother-in-law Bill Precoor (Betty) and sister-in-law Clarice Vandierendonck (Dan-predeceased). He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and large circle of lifelong friends. Predeceased by his parents Stanley and Effie Hillier, father-in-law Clarence Precoor, sister Alice, brother Freeman, stepmother Sarah ('Sadie'), stepsister Joan Stacey (Cecil), stepbrother Max Thornhill (Marina), brother-in-laws Austin Hillier and Garfield Bonnell. The family would like to recognize the many health care workers from Burin Health Care, St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, and Blue Crest Nursing Home who provided so much compassion over the last six months.
