ANTLE, Gordon Philip
(October 9, 1946 - December 27, 2013)

It is with great sadness the family of Gordon Philip Antle of Mortier announces his passing at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre on December 27, 2013, at the age of 67 years. Leaving to mourn wife Sarah of 46 years; mother Emily Antle; sons Dominic (Beth), Perry (Shea) and George (Jana); daughters Kim Dodge (Ian) and Amy Aylward (Danny); grandchildren Andrew, Anna, Percy, Leonard, Curtis, Dylan, Evan, Jessica and Carson; sisters Mary McNeill (Jim), Patsy Delaney (Dan), Nora Antle (Austin), Sheila Antle Gaudet , Donna Picco (Paul) and Priscilla Taylor (Darrell); brothers Dominic Antle Sr. (Theresa), Walter Antle (Sylvia), Leonard Antle (Sandra), Philip Antle (Darlene), John Antle (Annie), Gerard Antle (Joline), Eugene Antle (Lynn) and Kevin Antle (Sherry) plus a large circle of other family and friends. (1994-2013)
It is with great sadness that the family of the late EVAN WAYDE BARRON of Marystown announces his passing on Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at the age of 19 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his parents Wayde and Ingrid, his girlfriend Elisha Pardy, grandparents Ellen Barron of Mortier and Gloria and Eugene Ducey of St. Lawrence, sisters Victoria Barron of Marystown and Kelly Baker (Joyce) of Bulls Cove, Burin, brother Denis Appleby of Lewin's Cove, aunts Diane Walsh, Carrie Barron, Gladys Murphy, Heather Ducey Clarke and Tiffany Ducey, uncle Floyde Barron; plus many cousins and friends. Evan was predeceased by his grandfather Alonzo Barron and cousin Nikki Walsh. Passed peacefully away at the Anges Pratt Home in St.John's on Friday, December 6, 2013, John C.F. Bennett of Grand Bank age 72 years. Predeceased by parents Alex and Gladys Bennett, and Brother Tom Bennett. Leaving to mourn wife Hettie, son Fred (Pam) Bennett Grand Bank, daughter Lisa (Craig) Rideout of Paradise, son Alex (Judy) Bennett of Fortune, grandsons Jeffrey (Shanda) Bennett of Paradise, Brandon and Evan Rideout of Paradise, granddaughters Destiny Bennett of Grand Bank and Sarah Bennett of Fortune and a large circle of relatives and friends. Passed peacefully away on Monday, December 30, 2013, JOELLE MARY MYLES, age 39 years. Leaving to mourn her husband Perry, son Timothy, mother, Stella, sister Lynette, grandmother Mercedes Snook, mother and father-in-law Bill and Margaret Myles; brothers-in-law; Rick, Bill, Tim and Brian; sisters-in-law Wanda, Ann and Necie; also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Joelle was predeceased by her father Albert Hodder; brother Albert Jr.; grandparents Hubert Snook and Albert and Winnifred Hodder. At Joelle's request cremation has taken place. It is with great sadness the family of Margaret Paul of Epworth announces her passing at Burin Peninsula Health Care Center on December 3, 2013, at the age of 75 years. Leaving to mourn husband William sons Shawn (Violet) of Fort McMurray and daughters Wendy Clarke (Melvin) of Lewin's Cove; 7 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sisters Florence, Ethel, Ruth and Dale; brothers Paul, Charles, Gary and Robert plus a large circle of other family and friends. Predeceased by daughter Nancy Brewer. Resting at Epworth United Church Wednesday and Thursday 2-5 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service to take place from Epworth United Church on Friday, December 6th at 2 pm with interment following at United Cemetery, Epworth. Passed away at Blue Crest Nursing Home Grand Bank on Saturday, December 28, 2013 Abigail Elaine Piercy age 78 years. Predeceased by mother Ena Pike Dunford, father Raymond Pike, step father Maxwell Dunford and daughter in law Sharyn Power-Piercy. Leaving to mourn with loving memories of her smiling face and fun times daughter Joanne (Jim) king,of Grand Bank, and son Jim (Margaret) Piercy, of Mount Pearl. Their father Harold (Bonnie) Piercy, sister Judy (Bruce) Buffett. Her favorite and only granddaughter Raelle (Mark) King, five grandsons; Steven (Kelyn) King, David (Shauna) King, Matthew (Nahed) Piercy, Mark (Sandra) Piercy, Michael (Susan) Piercy. Great grandchildren Grace and Ivy King, Taylor and Reid Piercy. Step grandchildren Ricky and Jessie Greenwood, Julie Myers, and Quentin Gismondi. Nieces Jeanne (John) Brookbank, Shelly Buffett and Families. A small loving extended family,and a huge circle of friends including "The Crazy Hat Ladies", long time buddies Karen Hickman, Phyllis Angel, Dorothy Acreman, & Pam Roberts. Companion and special friend to the end Viola Maria Hoddinott. Cremation has taken place with public visitation and service at the Grand Bank United Church to be announced at a later date. Passed away at her home in Mortier, on Friday, December 20, 2013 Bonnie Sheryl Roff, nee Matthews, age 49 years of Grand Bank. Bonnie is survived by her husband Alvin, son Adam (Nicole), father Fred Matthews (Betty), sister Elizabeth (Jim). Step sons, Justin Roff (Jennifer), Shannon Roff (Jill). Two step grandchildren, Brooklyn and Mason. Aunts, Georgina (Raymond), Lorna, Florence, Margaret (Eli), Hannah Power, Mary Long and Ursula. Plus a large circle of other relatives and friends. Also a special friend, Marion Doody. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by family and friends. Cremation and Memorial Service will take place at a date and time to be announced. 82, of Hardwoodlands, Nova Scotia (formerly of Flat Islands, Newfoundland), passed away suddenly at home on December 25, 2013. He leaves behind his partner of 13 years, Elizabeth; his daughter, Wanda of Bedford, NS; sons, Wayne (Nancy) of Enfield, NS, Brian (Christina) of Fortune, Dennis (Dianne) of Mount Pearl and Harold of Calgary, AB; sisters, Dorothy of Epworth, NL and Beryl of Calgary, AB; brothers, Barry of Prince Rupert, BC, and Harold of Burin; his extended family, Judy (Grant), Sheila (Wilfred) Debert and Marilyn (Everett); many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a large circle of friends. He is predeceased by his parents, Frank and Bertha; first wife, Jean; sons, Louis and Donald and his brother, Boyd. He was born on Flat Islands, NL, moved to Collins Cove at the age of 10 and spent most of his life in Fortune, NL. He lived the last 20 years in Nova Scotia, first in Halifax, then Wellington and finally in Hardwoodlands. He was a deep-sea fisherman for 46 years working on the Grand Banks starting as a cabin-boy at the age of 15 and working the last 25 years of his career as a captain. He enjoyed bowling, playing cards and most of all dancing every weekend. He was a very quiet man and was liked by everyone who knew him. He was known to most as Skipper Charlie. Visitation will take place on Friday, June 20th, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, June 21st, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Wiseman's Funeral Home in Fortune, from where the Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, June 21st, at 2:00 p.m. Inurnment will follow at the United Church Cemetery in Fortune. Passed peacefully away at the Blue Crest Nursing Home Grand Bank on Tuesday December 24,2013 Susannah Smith of Fortune age 84 years. Predeceased by her parents Eva and Josiah and her sister Marion. Leaving to mourn her loving husband, Joseph Smith, sons; Stan (Lucy), Albert (Edna), Charlie (Melvina) and Terry (Lisa). 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Sisters Blanche (Joseph), and Rosella (Herman). Plus a large circle of other relatives and friends that loved her dearly. Remains resting at Warren's Funeral Home Grand Bank on Wednesday December 25th from 7 pm-9 pm for (family only). Public visitation on Thursday December 26th 2 pm-4 pm and 7 pm-9 pm, and Friday December 27th 9:30-11:30 am. Funeral service will be held at the Fortune United Church on Friday December 27th at 2 pm. Interment to follow at the United Church Cemetery Fortune. Donations in Susannah's memory may be to the Children's Wish Foundation.
