Burin Peninsula Obituaries

The area includes from Terrenceville on down to Grand Bank, over to Lamaline, St. Lawrence, Burin, Marystown and down the Peninsula again to Boat Harbour.
All the communities are not named but serves the whole of the Peninsula.

 

ABBOTT, Emily Violet
(July 29, 1911 - December 10, 2010)
Passed away at the Blue Crest Nursing Home, Grand Bank on Friday, December 10, 2010, Emily Violet Abbott of Harbour Mille, age 99 years. Predeceased by parents William and Frances Scott, husband William James Abbott, sisters Margaret Myles, Louisa Fudge, Janet Scott and Elizabeth Scott; brothers Edward Scott and Scott Baker, adopted parents Mary and John Winsor, adopted sisters Elizabeth Pardy and Rebecca Pittman, adopted brother George Winsor; son-in-law Merriel Pardy and granddaughter Wanda Pauline Pardy. Leaving to mourn: daughters Francis Barnes(Cecil) of Brampton, Ontario, Margaret Pardy and son Albert Abbott (Sarah) of Harbour Mille; 7 grandchildren 13 great grandchildren, 13 great-great grandchildren and adopted brother James Winsor. Remains resting at St. Mary's Anglican Church, Harbour Mille on Saturday and Sunday. Funeral Service will take place on Monday at 2 pm from St. Mary's Church. Interment to follow at St. Mary's Anglican Cemetery, Harbour Mille. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Warren's Funeral Home, Grand Bank.

BOLT, MABEL
1930-2010

It is with great sadness that the family of the late MABEL BOLT of Grand Le Pierre announces her passing in the presence of her loving family on Sunday December 26, 2010 at the age of 80. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories sons Ronald (Donna) of Grand Le Pierre, Orville of Grand Le Pierre, Clayton (Bonnie) of Grand Le Pierre, and Stephen (Shawnee) of New Brunswick; daughters Anne (Thomas) of St. John's, Ivy of Halifax, Linda (Dean) of St. John's, Regina (Gerald) of Grand Le Pierre, Barbara of Halifax, and Stephanie (Blaine) of New Brunswick; mother Mary Barnes of Torbay; 2 sisters; 1 brother; 16 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; special friends Mabel, Hazel, Karen and Linda of Halifax; sister-in-law Sarah of Halifax; The Hong and Furlong Families; plus a large circle of family and friends. Predeceased by husband Clayton, daughter Fronie, brother Phillip and her life long friend Fronie (Matthews) Hong. Resting and Visitation to take place from St. Thomas Anglican Church in Grand Le Pierre on Tuesday December 28th from 2pm - 4pm (Family Only) and 7pm - 9pm (Public); and Wednesday December 29th from 9am - 11am. Where the Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday December 29, 2010 at 2:00pm. Interment to follow at the Anglcian Cemetery in Grand Le Pierre. BRUSHETT, Nathan Thomas
Date of Birth: August 09, 1994
Passed away tragically at Burin Peninsula Health Care Center on December 28th Nathan Thomas Brushett of Burin age 16 years. Leaving to mourn parents Thomas and Sherry Brushett; sisters Samantha Brushett (Shawn) and Christina Brushett (Brad); niece Madison Cross; grandparents Mary and Cecil Green; special friend his dog Buddy plus a large circle of other family and friends. Predeceased by grandmother Rita Corcoran and grandfather Thomas Brushett. Resting at Serenity Funeral Home, Burin Thursday from 12-10PM and Friday from 10AM- 10PM. Funeral to take place from Serenity Chapel at 2PM Saturday, January 1, 2011. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family.

EDWARDS, CLARENCE J. 1951-2010
It is with great sadness that the family of the late CLARENCE J. EDWARDS of Bay L'Argent announces his passing in the presence of his loving family at The Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre on Tuesday December 28, 2010 at the age of 59. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are wife Rosalie of 33 years; sons Derek (Lesley) of Brooklin, ON, and Matthew (Cagney) of Marystown; daughter Melissa (Donnie) Williams of Paradise; sisters Francis Drake of Burin, and Eileen Stewart of St. Bernard's; sister in law Lucy (Rod) Hackett of St. Bernard's; father in law Russell Pike of Bay L'Argent; granddaughter Abigail; plus a large circle of family and friends. Pre-deceased by parents Nora & Patrick Edwards. Visitation to take place from Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in St. Bernard's on Friday December 31st from 8am - 12noon. Where the Funeral Mass will take place on Friday December 31, 2010 at 2:00pm. Inurnment of ashes to follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery in St. Bernard's. HERRIDGE, Gordon J.
(March 7, 1957 - December 8, 2010)
Passed away at the Blue Crest Nursing Home Grand Bank on Wednesday, December 8, 2010, Gordon James Herridge of Fortune in his 53rd year. Predeceased by parents Clayton and Elizabeth Herridge and granddaughter Brianna. Leaving to mourn: wife Glenda and two sons, Kiley and Elizabeth of Mount Pearl and Chad and Charlene of Portugal Cove; three grandchildren Zachary, Kiera-Lynn and Hannah; plus a circle of relatives and friends. Remains will be resting at the Salvation Army Citadel Fortune on Wednesday and Thursday from where the funeral will take place on Friday at 2 pm. Interment to follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery in Fortune. No flowers by request, donations to go to the Herridge Family. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories wife Frances of 47 years; sons Kenneth (Cathy) of Oshawa, ON, Keith (Kay Beck) of St. Lawrence, and Kevin of St. Lawrence; daughters Mary Jane (Sandy) King of Epworth, and Wanda (Sean) Gaulton of Creston South; 12 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; plus a large circle of family and friends. Pre-deceased by parents James & Mary Jackman, sisters Mary Jane Roul and Emma Jackman, brothers Leonard Jackman and Thomas Jackman, and nephew Derm Roul.
