Burin Peninsula Obituaries
December 2008

The area includes from Terrenceville on down to Grand Bank, over to Lamaline, St. Lawrence, Burin, Marystown and down the Peninsula again to Boat Harbour. All the communities are not named but serves the whole of the Peninsula.

 

BOLAND, Maxwell R.
(January 2, 1928 - December 1, 2008)

Passed peacefully away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Center on Monday December 1st, Maxwell R. Boland of Grand Bank, age 80 years. Predeceased by parents William and Keziah Boland, and twin brother Harry. He leaves to mourn: wife Margaret, sisters Julia, Neta, Ethel and Nelly, brother Norman. Also a circle of other nieces, nephews and friends. Remains resting at Warren's Funeral Home, Grand Bank on Tuesday and Wednesday from 10am - 12noon; 2pm - 5pm; 7pm - 9pm. Funeral Service will take place from Grand Bank United Church at 2pm on Thursday. Interment to follow at the United Church Cemetery Grand Bank. Donations in his memory may be made to the Janeway Children's Hospital. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Warren's Funeral Home Grand Bank.

Passed peacefully away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care on Friday, December 12, 2008 Peter Fitzpatrick of St. Lawrence in his 74th year. Leaving to mourn wife Avelina; sons Fred (Diane), Peter (Kim) and Scott (Sherry); daughters Martha (Patrick), Dale Jonathan), Daphne (Darrell), Debbie (Rob), Donna (Chess), Colleen (Eddie) and Mary; 25 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; sister Mary Drake plus a large circle of other family and friends. Predeceased by daughter Madeline; parents Jack and Mary Ann Fitzpatrick; 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Father Charles Goakery officiated Funeral mass from St. Thomas Aquinas Church, St. Lawrence on Tuesday, December 16, 2008 with interment following at Mount Cecilia Cemetery, St. Lawrence. Pallbearers were Fred Fitzpatrick, Peter Fitzpatrick, Scott Fitzpatrick, Chess Pardy, Patrick Campbell and Darrell Lake. Crossbearer was Dale Fitzpatrick Funeral arrangements entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Burin "WE CARE."

Passed peacefully away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Center on Thursday December 4th, 2008, JOAN W. FOOTE of Grand Bank, age 87 years. Predeceased by parents John and Mable Wilcox, husband John B. Foote, sister Dorothy Emiry(Lloyd); Leaving to mourn: nephew Wayne Emiry(Wendy) of Toronto, Ontario, niece Sherrie Lee Hillier(John) and their children Matthew and Nathan of Edmonton, Alberta, and nephew David Emiry (Tess) of Edmonton, Alberta; and brother-in-law Wilson H. Foote of Ottawa, Ontario; also, her home care worker Miriam Matthews (Leonard) of Grand Bank. Remains resting at Warren's Funeral Home Grand Bank on Friday from 10am - 12noon; 2pm - 5pm; 7pm - 9pm. Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, December 6th at 2pm from Grand Bank United Church. Interment to follow at the United Church Cemetery Grand Bank. Predeceased by parents Robert and Martha Miller; sister Bessie, and brother Herbert. He leaves to mourn: wife Marie, daughter Viola Sheppard of Bay L'argent, son Kevin (Cindy) at Brooks, Alberta, granddaughter Jayda Marie at Brooks, Alberta, grandsons Reginald (Cindy) at Fredericton NB. Gary (Yvonne) at Chamberlains, Philip (Tracy) at Bay L'argent, and great-grandchildren Joshua, Kaitlyn and Kile. Also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Remains resting at Bethel Pentecostal Church Grand Bank for public viewing on Thursday. Time and date of funeral service to be announced later. Parsons (Gertie), Alfred Parsons (Ellen); 35 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren, 14 great-great grandchildren. Also a large circle of other relatives and friends.
